📌📌 3. NUG’s Union Minister Dr. Tu Hkawng says that the seed of a political system that will guarantee for the future generations will be sown

February 8th

On February 8, while talking about the Panglong Agreement, Union Minister Dr. Tu Hkawng added that the seed of a political system that will ensure future generations will be sown, as follows:

“The most important thing in the federal democratic system, which is the essence of the Panglong Agreement, is the distribution of legislative, judicial, and administrative powers to the federal units. In the era of parliamentary democracy after independence, the leaders of the Anti-Fascist People’s Freedom League (AFPFL), led by elected MPs, failed to implement these concepts. They wanted to concentrate power in the central government, making it easier for those who wanted to seize power to do so. We must not repeat old mistakes in this revolution; instead, we will sow the seed of a political system that will guarantee for future generations.”

The Union Prime Minister added that even though it might take a while to create a guaranteed political system for building a peaceful country, it won’t be allowed to fail.
