📌 Spring Revolution Local News – March 22, 2023 (Evening)

📌📌 1. The Acting President says that the military regime is creating an ethnic conflict by dividing the Karenni and Pa-O ethnic groups

At the March 21 Cabinet Meeting of the National Unity Government, Acting President Duwa Lashi La said the following in his remarks:

“Through joint operations, our victory will surely come into our hands. There are also circumstances consistently created by the military council in order to hinder our victory. In the Karenni region, the military regime is creating an ethnic conflict by dividing the Karenni and Pa-O ethnic communities. I would want to urge all of us to remain vigilant in the face of these circumstances and to continue our journey to achieve the revolutionary goal.”

The terrorist military forces were using excessive airstrikes and artillery to battle in the Sagaing Division, Magway Division, and Karenni States, where they were suffering heavy losses in the fights.

📌📌 2. NUG’s Union Minister Dr. Zaw Wai Soe says that ground strikes pose a threat to terrorist military forces

At a meeting with township people’s administration groups and forces of ground strike committees on March 21, which was led by the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration, Union Minister Dr. Zaw Wai Soe said:

  • The main thing is for all the revolutionary forces to work together in unity to implement the Federal Democracy Charter and deal with the sham election.
  • It can be seen that the strike forces exert international pressure on the terrorist military council.
  • The Federal Democracy Charter will, with the participation and collaboration of the population, help build a Federal Democracy Union.

Following that, the Union Minister of Women, Youths and Children Affairs, Naw Susanna Hla Hla Soe, gave welcoming remarks. She said that she would like to thank and congratulate all the strike forces and township people’s administration groups because, according to records, they are able to stage strikes in more than 50 locations across the country, which is quite satisfying.

The forces of the ground strike committees and the township people’s administrative groups present had discussions and exchanged views.

📌📌 3. NUG’s Human Rights Minister tells the international community that concerns and worries about Myanmar’s issue are no longer sufficient and to show solidarity for the democratic forces

In an interview in March, Human Right Minister U Aung Myo Min said, “The fact that powerful countries like the EU and UK attach more importance to the Ukraine issue, which is geographically close to their territorial borders, and only act based on the ASEAN’s Five-Point Consensus, which is not really effective when it comes to the Myanmar issue, and that some neighbouring countries in ASEAN have the attitude of seeking profit by cooperating with the terrorist military council rather than solving the problem, these are our main challenges. In addition, we welcome concerns, but worrying is not enough. In order to prevent these [the atrocities committed by the military council], we need sanctions and solidity towards the democratic forces.”

Sanctions against the arms trade are needed specifically to target the terrorist military council at present.

Myingyan Black Tiger (MBT) informed the news on March 22 as follows:

“We would like to inform the public that Camp No. 2 of our Myingyan Black Tiger (MBT), which is based in Magway and Sagaing Divisions, was raided by the coup terrorist army. Our comrades survived that raid on Camp No. 2, but we lost two home-made shoulder-fired grenade launchers and one home-made RPG, as well as ammunition.”

This is the second camp to be seized, as the junta troops also seized the MBT’s headquarters camp on March 18.

In order to defend against the military attacks that are still being made in the area, the MBT asked the populace to assist in arming.
