πŸ“ŒπŸ“Œ 1. ABSDF and Mandalay Region Revolutionary Forces to cooperate in anti-dictatorship activities

The All Burma Students’ Democratic Front (ABSDF) and the Mandalay Region Revolutionary Forces (Man Sone Nyi) have jointly announced that they will cooperate in operations to dismantle the dictatorship and implement initiatives that benefit the people.

This joint statement follows their first online meeting held on August 21.

It is learned that the meeting was attended by the ABSDF central executive delegation led by its Chairman, Ye Baw Than Khe, together with representatives of the Mandalay Region Revolutionary Forces (Man Sone Nyi).

During the discussion, ABSDF presented its experiences of the political and military landscape since the 1988 People’s Uprising through to the current Spring Revolution, as well as the situation and revolutionary activities that emerged after the 2021 coup d’Γ©tat.

Meanwhile, the Mandalay Region Revolutionary Forces (which include the Mandalay Committee Representing the Hluttaw and the Mandalay Anti-Dictatorship People’s Coordination Committee) shared their ongoing preparations in the Mandalay region, covering political, military, humanitarian, public service, and international cooperation efforts.

Following this exchange, both ABSDF and Man Sone Nyi agreed to work together in a systematic and practical manner on:

  • political affairs,
  • international relations,
  • humanitarian aid and public service,
  • civilian defense, and
  • coordinated anti-dictatorship operations.

Both sides also agreed to continue sector-by-sector discussions in order to develop concrete methods of cooperation.

πŸ“ŒπŸ“Œ 2. Ten junta soldiers killed, four guns seized in attack near Myingyan Township

At least 10 junta soldiers were killed and four firearms seized during an ambush on military troops leaving Sone Village, Myingyan Township, Mandalay Region, according to a statement by Myingyan District Battalions No. 4 and 10.

The attack occurred around 12 noon on August 21, when junta soldiers traveling out of Sone Village in one Tawlar Gyi truck and three motorbikes were ambushed by Myingyan District Battalions No. 4 and 10, together with allied groups including Mandalay District Battalion-5, Kyamin LPDF, Ngan Nget LPDF, North Shan LPDF, and Amarapura Pa Ka Pha.

According to Nwar Htoe Gyi PDF, the resistance forces managed to seize:

  • 3 G3 rifles,
  • 1 MA-11 rifle,
  • 3 magazines, and
  • 16 rounds of G3 ammunition.

Eyewitnesses confirmed that around 10 soldiers were killed in the attack. Reports indicate that when the resistance fighters opened fire, junta soldiers scattered in disarray but later attempted to regroup and counter-attack.

However, as reinforcements from Sone Village and troops from Ngan Mya police station (Ngan Zun Township) arrived, the joint resistance forces conducted a safe tactical withdrawal without suffering casualties, according to Nwar Htoe Gyi PDF’s statement.

πŸ“ŒπŸ“Œ 3. People’s Defense Force, Magway District Battalion No. 2 issues warning statement

The People’s Defense Force, Magway District Battalion No. 2, issued Statement (1/2025) dated August 21.

According to the statement, it has come to light that some individuals have been collecting money or soliciting donations in certain revolutionary areas using the name of Battalion No. 2 without any authorization or approval from the battalion.

The statement strongly warned that any misuse of the battalion’s name to extort or solicit funds must cease immediately. If such incidents continue, effective action will be taken against those responsible.

πŸ“ŒπŸ“Œ 4. Kayin New Land Party Youth Department calls for applicants to join the 3rd Youth Capacity-Building Course

The Youth Department of the Kayin New Land Party has announced the recruitment of participants for its 3rd Youth Capacity-Building Course, which is conducted annually.

According to the announcement, the course is aimed at ensuring that young people gain knowledge and understanding of genuine federal democracy and political leadership skills, thereby enabling them to play a leading role in building the future Federal Democratic Union of Myanmar.

The training program will last for three months and will be limited to 45 trainees. Those interested in attending may submit their applications to the Youth Headquarters of the Kayin New Land Party no later than September 10. Further information about the course and application forms are available on the Kayin New Land Party Youth Department’s official Facebook page.

The Youth Department stated that it has been organizing this course annually since 2023 to enhance the political knowledge and general capacity of young people in the Kayin region. So far, through the first and second rounds of training, a total of 54 youths have successfully completed the program. This was confirmed in a press release by the Information and Public Relations Department of the Kayin New Land Party Youth Department.

πŸ“ŒπŸ“Œ 5. Bomb discovered at Pazundaung Ward-9 Office

August 22

A bomb was discovered this morning (August 22) at the Ward-9 Administration Office in Pazundaung Township, Yangon Region, according to the Rangoon Scout Network.

At around 10:30 a.m., two DC vehicles and one Saloon car carrying a large number of junta troops arrived at the Ward-9 office. Shortly after, at around 11:00 a.m., they sealed off Yaykyaw Road (between Bogyoke Road and U Shwe Guen Road).

At approximately 11:40 a.m., the bomb was removed by the troops, and by 12:20 p.m., Yaykyaw Road was reopened to the public.

It was also reported that in other Yangon townships, including Mayangone, Thaketa, and Hlaing, around 30 junta soldiers were conducting guest-list inspections, going as far as into side streets.
