📌📌 1. Research Conference 2025 Successfully Held

The Ministry of Health (MOH) of the National Unity Government (NUG) announced that the Research Conference 2025, organized by the Department of Research and Development under the NUG Ministry of Health, was successfully held.
The conference was conducted under the theme “Health Sector Amidst Complex and Emergency Situations — Research and Response in Myanmar’s Crisis Context.” It took place online from September 27 to 29, each day between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. (Myanmar Standard Time).
According to the Ministry, the call for research papers and posters to be presented at the conference was open from July 23 to August 23.
At the opening ceremony on September 27, Union Minister Prof. Dr. Zaw Wai Soe and Deputy Minister Prof. Dr. Khin Maung Lwin delivered opening remarks. During the closing ceremony on September 29, Deputy Minister Dr. Shwe Phone gave the closing address, the statement said.
During his address at the opening ceremony, Union Minister Prof. Dr. Zaw Wai Soe highlighted that conducting and documenting health research represents not only scientific effort but also a profound act of resilience that refuses to kneel before injustice and brutality. He emphasized that this is a testament to the enduring strength of the people.
He further explained that research work in the present period is not merely for academic purposes, but also crucial for providing solid evidence-based understanding of current realities. Such evidence supports evidence-based decision-making, helps draw lessons from various programs and projects, and enables the effective application of research findings in the planning and implementation of public health services — making these services more efficient and impactful.
A total of 27 papers were presented, and 20 posters were displayed during the conference.
Records show that there were 463 registered participants: 187 on the first day, 175 on the second day, and 150 on the third day.

📌📌 2. Nighttime Road Restrictions Imposed in Ngathayauk Township

The 21 Bagan People’s Defense Force (PDF) has announced restrictions on the use of roads within Ngathayauk Township, Nyaung-U District, Mandalay Region, prohibiting travel between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
The announcement, issued on October 18, stated that the measure was introduced because military junta troops had launched offensive operations into Ngathayauk Township. As a result, the 21 Bagan PDF has restricted the use of all roads in the township during the nighttime hours from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
The PDF has urged local residents to refrain from traveling during these hours for their own safety.
Due to the ongoing military and security situation, the Nyaung-U Township People’s Defense Organization had also earlier — on October 9 — urged residents and travelers to avoid using the Nyaung-U–Kyaukpadaung road between 11:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m.
The 21 Bagan PDF has therefore called on the public to respect and comply with the announcements made by revolutionary forces, warning that any harm resulting from failure to follow these directives will be the responsibility of those who disregard the guidance.
