1. SCEF and Arakan Army Hold Second Meeting

The Steering Council for the Emergence of a Federal Democratic Union (SCEF) and the United League of Arakan/Arakan Army (ULA/AA) held their second online meeting on October 8. They discussed political and military developments, humanitarian needs, and public health concerns in Arakan State. NUG Acting President Duwa Lashi La also participated in discussions. Both sides condemned military airstrikes targeting civilians.

2. Military Suffers Casualties in Mon State and Bago Region

Resistance forces reportedly killed three military personnel and injured six during an ambush in Ye Township, Mon State, on October 10. Additional attacks targeted military positions in Ye and Thanbyuzayat. In Htantabin Township, Bago Region, resistance groups claimed at least 17 military personnel were killed in separate operations against a supply convoy and military camp.

3. Five Killed in Military Raid on PDF Camp in Seikphyu

Military troops raided a PDF camp in Seikphyu Township, Magway Region, on October 8, reportedly killing four resistance fighters and one civilian. Approximately 11 resistance members were captured. Separately, military airstrikes on two resistance camps in Aunglan Township injured two fighters and damaged buildings, forcing nearby villagers to flee.

4. Six Civilians Killed in Rakhine State Airstrike

A military fighter jet reportedly dropped four bombs on Sin Ai village in Pauktaw Township, Rakhine State, on October 10. Six civilians, including a 95-year-old woman and a child, were killed, while at least 10 others were injured. The village is located near Sittwe, where fighting between the military and Arakan Army continues.

5. Twenty Civilians Killed in Karenni Airstrikes Over Two Months

The Karenni Nationalities Defence Force (KNDF) reported that military airstrikes and drone attacks killed 20 civilians and injured at least 57 during August and September. Victims included children and pregnant women. At least 61 buildings were damaged, while 32 airstrikes and 27 drone attacks were recorded across Karenni State and nearby Pekon Township.

6. Drone Attack, Fatal Shooting, and Student Informant Allegations

A military drone attack damaged a civilian home in Kyaikto Township, Mon State, on October 9. In Mandalay Region, a 41-year-old rice mill owner was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Tada-U Township. Meanwhile, police in Monywa were accused of paying students up to 50,000 kyats daily to work as informants.

7. Myanmar Spring University Awards 153 Degrees

Myanmar Spring University held its third graduation ceremony on October 7, awarding degrees and diplomas to 153 students across 10 academic programs. NUG officials, including Prime Minister Mann Win Khaing Than, attended the ceremony. The university has now awarded qualifications to 771 graduates across three convocations.

8. Former Australian Lawmaker Condemns Myanmar Airstrikes

Former Victorian parliamentarian Hon. Hong Lim highlighted the daily bombing and killing of Myanmar civilians during an event in Melbourne on October 9. He called for greater international attention to Myanmar's crisis and continued support for democracy. Myanmar representatives honored him for 22 years of advocacy.

9. Thirty-Five Political Prisoners Rearrested After Release

The Political Prisoners Network Myanmar (PPNM) reported that at least 35 political prisoners, including four women, were rearrested or given additional sentences after completing their original prison terms. The cases were documented between January 2025 and October 2026. PPNM condemned the actions as violations of fundamental human rights.

10. Kim Aris Urges Myanmar People Not to Lose Hope

Kim Aris, the son of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, urged Myanmar citizens to remain hopeful despite growing international engagement with the military authorities. He called on world leaders to address military-linked criminal networks, demand accountability, and secure the release of political prisoners, including his mother. He emphasized that diplomatic engagement must not come at the expense of justice.
