📌📌 1. Derek Chollet, Counselor of the United States Department of State, and his team visited the Washington DC office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the National Unity Government of Myanmar (NUG)
On March 13, 2023, Derek Chollet, Counselor of the United States Department of State, and his team visited the Washington DC office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the National Unity Government of Myanmar (NUG) and were welcomed by U Htin Linn Aung, Union Minister of Communications, Information and Technology, and U Moe Zaw Oo, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the NUG.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the worsening situation of crimes committed by the military council in Myanmar, the positions of the United States of America, and issues that could be helped.
Deputy Minister U Moe Zaw Oo told Radio NUG about the topics discussed between the two sides as follows:
“Today, Derek Chollet, Counselor of the United States Department of State, visited us at our office in Washington, DC, and we had a discussion. We discussed the current situation in Myanmar, especially the brutal killing of Pa-O people in Pinlaung the other day, as well as human rights violations and other crimes committed by the military, such as invading villages, burning houses, and killings. Regarding these, we also discussed ways to take action against them. Discussions on the status of the UN Security Council resolution’s implementation and how the United States might support Myanmar, particularly with the Burma Act, were extensively discussed.”

📌📌 2. Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun says that the military is at war with the people it is supposed to protect
Ambassador Kyaw Moe Tun, Permanent Representative of Myanmar to the United Nations, included the following in his statement at the General Discussion of the 67th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women, held on March 13, 2023:
“The military is at war with its own people, whom it is supposed to protect. Myanmar is currently at a fork in the road, with two options. One is a permanent military dictatorship with total impunity; that is the path the military is pursuing. Another one is towards the future Myanmar people want and are fighting for. That is a democratic Myanmar with all rights protected, including minority rights and the rights of women and girls, and self-determination guaranteed under a federal system.”
The ambassador also stated that, since the coup attempt, the military has killed more than 3,120 people, including over 440 women, and the women protesters in particular were shot in the head on purpose.

📌📌 3. Britain’s UN ambassador says that Myanmar is the second-deadliest place in the world for civilians
Ms. Barbara Woodward, Permanent Representative of the UK to the United Nations, told the media before the UN Security Council meeting held yesterday, “The people of Myanmar have been suffering for too long.” “Myanmar is the world’s second-deadliest place for civilians, and the people of Myanmar simply cannot wait,” she continued.
The UN Security Council meeting was held on March 13, and discussion on the Myanmar issue was held in a closed-door council meeting because of Russia and China’s objections, and heard reports from Noeleen Heyzer, the UN secretary-general’s special envoy on Myanmar, and Retno Marsudi, Indonesia’s foreign minister and head of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) office of the special envoy on Myanmar. The session was held to provide an update on UN support for the implementation of the ASEAN Five Point Consensus. The Special Envoy provided an overview of the situation and provided updates on efforts to support the implementation of Resolution 2669 (2022).
It cites, as of January 31, 2023, credible sources as having verified the deaths of at least 2,940 and 17,572 arrests by the military and its affiliates since the coup. Nearly 80 percent of the country’s 330 townships have been impacted by armed clashes. The military burned and destroyed at least 62,000 houses throughout Myanmar.

📌📌 4. The NUG’s representative to the Czech Republic says that it is absolutely impossible to forgive the terrorist military group
U Linn Thant, NUG’s representative to the Czech Republic, made the following conclusion about the Myanmar military following the massacre it had committed against monks and civilians in Pinlaung township:
“The terrorist military group is determined to wipe out anyone who opposes them with weapons. It is absolutely impossible to forgive the brutal killings of people, especially in Sagaing Division, Magway Division, Chin State, and Karenni State, on a daily basis. There are only a few options for us: fight the revolution with more systematic grouping, unity, and effort.”
The terrorist military committed a brutal massacre of 30 innocent civilians, including 3 Buddhist monks, in Nam Nein village, Shan State, on March 11, 2023.

📌📌 5. PDF forces captured 6 junta soldiers during the battle in the valley of Kuyin village, Pekhon Township
On March 13, the Pekhon People’s Defence Force Battalion 2 (PKDPF2) reported about its March 11 mission and the capture of 6 junta soldiers as follows:
“The PKPDF2 and its allies searched the jungle, and a skirmish broke out at around 10:30 a.m. on March 11, after receiving a report that military council troops were sneaking into the valley of Kuyin village. We had to fight hard due to the Pekhon-based [enemy] regiment’s artillery assistance, and at around five o’clock in the evening, the soldiers retreated out of suffering. On the same day, 6 soldiers from the military council were also captured.”
The PKPDF also reported, “On March 12 at 1:00 a.m. in the jungle, when there was another encounter between the PKPDF2 scout squad and the retreating military council troops, a comrade of the PKPDF2 gave his life for the country. After that, when area clearance was carried out, 19 corpses, including those of the officers from the military council, and a large number of weapons and ammunition were seized.”

📌📌 6. The local defence forces and the junta troops encountered a clash in Kawlin this morning
According to the Kawlin Revolution (KR) team, a clash broke out between the local defence forces and the junta troops at 8:00 a.m. on March 14 in Kawlin Township, Sagaing Division.
It said, “A clash broke out between the combined force of Kawlin PDF Battalion 1 and Kyauk Pyin Thar local people’s defence force (PaKaHpa) and the military council troops who came out of Zee Kone village in Kawlin Township after spending the night there.”
At present, military council troops are frequently marching out in Kawlin Township and targeting civilians.
