On December 22, the Arakan Army (AA) released documentation photos of their complete capture of Taungup City in Rakhine State.
According to AA’s statement, on December 14 at 4:10 PM, they fully captured all military bases under the control of the military junta in Taungup, including the Headquarters of Operation Command No. 5 (SOK-5), as well as Battalion Headquarters No. 544 and No. 346.
AA has reportedly taken control of several other townships across Rakhine State, including Paletwa, Ponnagyun, Minbya, Mrauk-U, Kyauktaw, Myebon, Pauktaw, Ramree, Rathedaung, Buthidaung, Thandwe, and Maungdaw. They have also gained control of two-thirds of Gwa Township.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 2. Kanpetlet City Secured Without Resistance After Operation Announcement

Following the announcement of a military operation to reclaim Kanpetlet City in southern Chin State, junta forces and police stationed in the city abandoned their positions, allowing the city to fall into resistance hands without a single shot fired.
According to the Chinland Defense Force - Kanpetlet (CDF-Kanpetlet) and the Kanpetlet Council, the city was fully reclaimed after junta troops and police officers negotiated with local civilians and withdrew entirely by midnight on December 21.
The statement emphasized that this victory was a testament to the active participation and cooperation of the local population.
Earlier, on the afternoon of December 22, CDF-Kanpetlet declared that the operation to reclaim Kanpetlet, under the “Chin Brothers Operation,” was successful without firing a single bullet.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 3. Successful Capture of Mindat City in "Operation CB"

Under the “Chin Brothers Operation (Operation CB),” a collaborative effort by Chinland Defense Forces and allied groups, Mindat City and Falam City were targeted in offensives starting on November 9. As of December 21, Mindat City has been fully captured, according to a statement by CDF-Mindat.
The capture of Mindat City included the complete takeover of the military junta’s last remaining base in the area, Infantry Battalion No. 274. The entire township is now under resistance control, making it free from junta forces.
The operation was a coordinated effort between Chin Brothers and allied forces, including the Yaw Defense Force (YDF), Yaw Army (YA), and Regiment 3 of Monywa District.
Additionally, the Arakan Army (AA) provided military supplies, ammunition, strategic support, and other necessary aid to ensure the operation’s success.
During the offensive, 13 political prisoners unjustly detained by the junta were also successfully rescued.
The statement further honored the bravery and sacrifice of the martyrs, soldiers, and commanders who played crucial roles in the operation. It also reiterated the Chin Brothers’ commitment to continuing their fight, alongside allies, to seize control of remaining junta bases across Chin State.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 4. Southern Regional Military Headquarters Struck by 107mm Rockets

Brave Warrior for Myanmar (BWM) reported significant damages inflicted on the military junta’s Southern Regional Military Headquarters during an attack involving 107mm rockets as part of “Mission 27.”
On the morning of December 22, BWM, MKCDF, ACPLF, and a coalition from northern Thantlang launched five 107mm rockets targeting the Southern Regional Military Headquarters.
The attack caused a fire at the operations office, killing two military officers. The rockets also hit the administrative office, resulting in the deaths of two additional officers and eight soldiers of various ranks.
The explosion also destroyed two junior officers’ quarters, leading to further casualties. Additionally, two private cars, a military truck, and three larger vehicles were burned during the attack.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 5. Complete Capture of Tharyarkwa Pyu Village in Myin Township

The People's Defense Forces (PDF) of Myin Township announced that Tharyarkwa Pyu Village in Myin Township was fully captured on December 21, following operations aimed at eradicating Pyu Saw Htee militias allied with the military council.
The operation commenced at 6:00 AM on December 19, with the military council attempting multiple airstrikes to prevent the fall of their base. However, the village was successfully taken over on December 21, according to the statement.
During the clashes, the reinforcement column of approximately 150 soldiers sent by the military council to Myin Township was intercepted and attacked twice — once around 7:00 AM and again at about 12:00 PM on December 19.
The clashes resulted in 14 casualties, including a commanding officer on the military council’s side, and approximately 30 others were severely injured. The remaining troops retreated toward Myin Township.
On the People's Defense Forces' side, two comrades were martyred during the battle, while the military council's airstrikes destroyed about ten civilian houses.
The operation to capture Tharyarkwa Pyu Village involved coordinated efforts from Myin PDF, Pauk PDF, (Myin, Pauk, and Kanma) PDF Battalions 1 and 2, Pakokku District Battalions 2, 6, 7, 14, 15, and 17, Central Myanmar United Forces, Kanma United Forces, PLC United Forces, the 8+ Formation, Pakokku Formation, Wan Pulae Guerrilla Force, Galone People's Defense Force, Dhamin Gyi Force, and Ko Aung Gyi Force.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 6. Military Captain Shot Dead at a Family Wedding

At approximately 2:00 PM on December 22, military Captain Zeyar Min of the State Administration Council (SAC) was shot and eliminated in front of Apollo Hotel on Upper Baho Road, Ward 2, in Mayangone Township, according to a statement from Yangon Phoenix.
Captain Zeyar Min had attended his family member's wedding alongside his younger sister. He was shot four times while leaving the hotel after the event, with three bullets striking him. His sister sustained one gunshot wound to her hip and was sent to Mingaladon Military Hospital for treatment.
Yangon Phoenix and Together Urban Force Guerrilla Unit jointly carried out the attack, according to the announcement.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 7. Seizure of Weapons from Pyu Leader’s Home and Ambush on Military Column Entering Minpalaung Village

The DSNDA reported that weapons and ammunition were seized during a raid on the residence of Pyu Saw Htee leader Thein Lwin in Ye Hla Village, southern Shan State's Ywangan Township, on December 18.
Thein Lwin was not at home during the raid and managed to evade capture. Authorities seized one carbine rifle, ammunition, and magazines.
Thein Lwin has been accused of threatening civilians at gunpoint, using firearms to assault dissenters, intimidating the public by firing into the air, and regularly stealing from civilian homes while accompanying military operations.
Additionally, before the military council’s column reached Minpalaung Village, it was ambushed with landmines by the DSNDA in Ye Hla Village, Shan State's southern region.
The military column, consisting of approximately 110 troops, sustained casualties during the ambush but managed to proceed, resulting in two days of direct clashes. The skirmishes reportedly led to three fatalities and five injuries on the military council's side, while the DSNDA reported no losses and maintained their positions.
However, on December 22, at around 10:00 AM, the military set fire to approximately 170 civilian homes in retaliation. Displaced villagers are now facing severe challenges, including food shortages and health crises.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 8. Federal Duwan Star Force Joins DNLA’s Drone Strike Unit

Officials from the Federal Duwan Star Force and the Democratic National Liberation Army (DNLA) announced their cooperation under the DNLA's leadership to fight against the military dictatorship and establish a federal democratic system.
The Federal Duwan Star Force will now function as a drone strike unit within the DNLA’s military and political framework in Dawei District, Tanintharyi Region.
This collaboration is aimed at intensifying operations to eradicate military dictatorship and achieve national liberation, as stated in their public announcement.
