Her remarks came during an exclusive interview with Mizzima News, following discussions between Prime Minister of the NUG, Mahn Winn Khine Thann, and Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia and current ASEAN Chair.

“What I would like to tell the public is that we are doing everything within our capacity on international relations. There are things we can announce. But there are also things we cannot speak about yet because they are still in progress or results have not materialized. That said, we will continue to operate with as much transparency as possible, and will inform the public of everything that we are able to disclose,” she affirmed, addressing the public directly in her response.

The People’s Defense Force (PDF) of Mandalay has issued a statement urging neighboring countries, global powers, and international organizations to closely monitor the Myanmar military junta’s continuous airstrikes targeting civilian areas, and to take appropriate action against these war crimes, which are being perpetrated even during a period of humanitarian ceasefire.

The statement emphasized the need for persistent vigilance from countries such as China, India, and Thailand; major global powers including the United States and Russia; regional blocs such as ASEAN and the European Union; and global organizations like the United Nations.

According to the statement, between April 1 and April 19, 2025, the military junta carried out airstrikes in:

  • Thabeikkyin Township: 13 times
  • Singu Township: 4 times
  • Madaya Township: 1 time

As a result of these brutal air attacks between April 1 and April 19, a minimum of 41 civilians were reported killed and at least 58 injured in Thabeikkyin, Singu, and Madaya townships. Among the deceased, at least seven were children.

The airstrikes by the junta have targeted non-military locations, including marketplaces, schools, religious buildings, and residential homes where civilians go about their daily lives. A total of 54 homes and one school were confirmed to have been destroyed in the attacks.

๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 4. Clarification Regarding Junta Propaganda Claiming That Pilgrims Visiting the Kyaukhtiyoe Pagoda Were Detained by Revolutionary Forces

April 19
Radio NUG

In response to the junta’s propaganda alleging that pilgrims visiting the Kyaukhtiyoe Pagoda were arrested by revolutionary forces, Strategic Command No. (27) has issued a clarification.

The propaganda stemmed from an operation in which revolutionary forces detained Pyu Saw Htee leaders near the Kyaikhtiyo mountain base, specifically at the Kadat Chaung Waterfall in Kin Mun Chaung Village.

On April 15, based on local intelligence, the People’s Defense Team from Kyaikto Township conducted a raid on a restaurant in Kadat Chaung, where Pyu Saw Htee leader Hlaing Min from Nyaunglebin Township, his deputy Ma Gyi, and others were reportedly consuming alcohol and under the influence of narcotics. A total of 48 individuals, including their family members, were detained during this operation.

Although the main objective was the arrest of Pyu Saw Htee leaders and members, all 48 individuals, including family members who were accompanying them, were temporarily taken into custody for security reasons, it was explained.

At present, Pyu leader Hlaing Min, Pyu members Ma Gyi, Min Maw Oo (Hlaing Min’s son), Kyaw Kyaw Oo, Thein Thein, and Hlaing Min’s wife Yamin remain in detention. The rest of the family members were released on April 18, according to the statement.

It was also stated that investigations are ongoing to uncover the crimes committed by the arrested Pyu Saw Htee members and that appropriate legal actions and effective penalties will be pursued based on the nature and severity of their offenses.

Clashes currently taking place across the Ayeyarwady Region have now reached Hinthada District, according to a public advisory issued by the Hinthada Township People's Administrative Body.

As fighting intensifies and the conflict zone expands, civilians from areas directly affected by the fighting have already started fleeing to nearby villages and townships. Given this development, all residents within Hinthada Township are strongly urged to remain vigilant and take precautionary measures.

The advisory recommends that residents:

  • Prepare essential documents, supplies, medicines, and provisions for emergency relocation;
  • Stay informed of on-the-ground developments and monitor news closely;
  • Exercise caution in their movements;
  • Avoid approaching or interacting with military council informant sites, affiliated groups, or collaborators;
  • Refrain from exploiting the situation by inflating rental prices for displaced civilians;
  • Instead, offer support and solidarity to those fleeing the conflict.
