📌📌 1. Acting President said that there is a need to develop education that respects democratic standards, and it must be an education system that is befitting of the federal system


Acting President of the National Unity Government, Duwa Lashi La, said at the first conference of the higher education sector during the Spring Revolution held on April 21, that there is a need to develop education that respects democratic standards, and an education system that is befitting of the federal system.

“The Spring Revolution is a revolution that established a federal democratic union and fought for the freedom of the people. Therefore, we need to develop education that respects democratic standards, and an education system that is befitting of the federal system. In addition, we must build a federal democratic education by holding to the basic principle of freedom of education for the development of people’s knowledge,” he said.

In addition, the Acting President added that since education work is a long-term process, everything will have to be built with patience and dedication.

📌📌 2. Acting President Duwa Lashi La said that he was pleased to see that Myanmar Islamic people are actively participating in the Spring Revolution


The National Unity Government’s Acting President Duwa Lashi La added in his greetings for the April 21 Eid al-Fitr Festival that he was pleased to see that Myanmar Islamic people are actively participating in the Spring Revolution.

“On April 21, 2023, I would like to wish all Myanmar Islamic people at home and abroad good health and happiness on the day of Eid al-Fitr. We are pleased to see that Myanmar Islamic people are actively participating in the Spring Revolution.”

Acting President also said that he believes that they will work together with the entire public in the construction of a federal democratic union in which people of all races and religions have equal rights and are free of discrimination after eradicating the military dictatorship.

📌📌 3. It is very important for the Spring Revolution to be the last revolution and an all-inclusive revolution in eradicating terrorist dictators


Union Minister Dr. Sasa said that it is very important for the Spring Revolution to be the last revolution and an all-inclusive revolution as in eradicating the terrorist military dictatorships.

Union Minister Dr. Sasa added in the message on “Blue Shirt Day for Burma” and the 9th anniversary of the death of revolutionary leader U Win Tin on April 21, 

“In eradicating terrorist dictators, it is very important for the spring revolution to be the last and an all-inclusive revolution. It is important to use all the forces of the people, regardless of race, ethnicity, or religion, to fight together and march to the end. Just as there is no half-cure for a disease, the minister said that the terrorist military that is destroying Myanmar like cancer and killing lives must be eradicated.”

“At the present time, the people of Myanmar and the people of Ukraine are not only fighting for their own countries, but they are fighting with their lives for democracy in order to overcome the important geopolitical crisis for the whole world,” Minister Dr. Sasa added.

📌📌 4. The Interim Local Administration Central Committee (ILACC) held a meeting with the people’s administrative bodies of Sagaing and Magway Divisions


On April 21, the meeting between the NUG’s Interim Local Administration Central Committee (ILACC) and people’s administrative bodies of Sagaing and Magway Divisions (16/2023) was held.

At the meeting, Union Minister U Nai Tun Pe @ U Nai Suwunna, Ministry of Labour, and member of ILACC, gave an opening speech.

Following, attending officials from ministries explained the activities of the corresponding ministries. Sagaing District’s people’s administrative body then explained their operations and activities they are conducting, and members of township people’s administrative bodies exchanged views with relevant officials regarding policies, directions, operations and challenges encountered on the ground.

After that, Union Minister U Lwin Ko Latt, Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration, and Vice Chairman-1 of the ILACC also gave a remark speech.

The meeting was attended by Union Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Permanent Secretaries, Associate Secretaries, relevant officials from ministries, and members of township people’s administrative bodies of Sagaing and Magway Divisions.

The Ministry of Women, Youth and Children Affairs announced on April 21 that Union Minister Naw Susanna Hla Hla Soe participated in the demand for the “Immediate Release of All Political Prisoners”.

Arrested political prisoners due to arbitrary arrests and human rights violations by the military council are facing human rights violations in prison, a lack of access to basic health care, and torture.

Therefore, the participants of the movement demanded that the military council immediately release those who were unjustly arrested and that international governmental and non-governmental organizations pressurize the military council to release Myanmar political prisoners.

📌📌 6. Political prisoners are being oppressed and beaten unjustly by the prison staff in Myingyan Prison


On April 21, the Myingyan People Movement Committee informed that political prisoners are being oppressed and beaten unfairly by prison staff inside Myingyan Prison.

“It is said that the inmates are being oppressed and beaten unfairly by the prison staff inside the Myingyan Prison. There are many bans and restrictions on parcels and food sent by the family, and it is known that they are being forced to buy at high prices from the prison’s shops,” stated.

Additionally, it has been stated that prison staff are demanding money from the relatives of political prisoners in ill health in order to pay for medical treatment outside of prison while dishonestly collecting money without providing medical care.

The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management of the National Unity Government announced on April 21 that more than 7,000 people have fled the war from 8 nearby villages, including Pazigyi Village, Kanbalu Township after the airstrikes.

Pazigyi Village, Sagaing Region, Kanbalu Township, was attacked by air on April 11 and then again on April 20. It is said that there are more than 7,000 people fleeing the war from 8 nearby villages including Pazigyi Village.

It is reported that Emergency Response Task Force is being established at the union level and township level under the supervision of the ministries and the management of various officials in Sagaing Region for the physical and psychological impact of these war refugees. 

It is reported that, led by the Kanbalu Township Emergency Response Task Force, the people fleeing the war are provided with emergency necessities including food, water, goods, and environmental sanitation items.

In addition, humanitarian aid is also being provided in Myaing Township in Magway Division, and Falam and Mindat Townships in Chin State, which were hit by airstrikes by the terrorist military council.

“At around 5:00 p.m. today in Kani Township, about 150 houses in eight villages on the west bank of the Chindwin River were damaged due to untimely wind and rain,” he said.

The weather forecast for the week from April 17 to April 23 has been released by NUG, which states that the wind patterns have changed and there may be untimely downpours in many regions of Myanmar.
