📌📌 1. Union Prime Minister highlights Spring Revolution’s Peace as bedrock for future just and equal Federal Democratic Union


Union Prime Minister Mahn Winn Khaing Thann delivered a message on International Day of Peace, which falls on September 21. In his message, he stated, “The peace that will be achieved through the Spring Revolution, for which a lot of lives, blood, and sweat have been sacrificed, is the foundation on which we will build a future federal democratic union full of justice and equality.”


At present, the National Unity Government is operating in accordance with the Federal Democracy Charter and is actively collaborating with ethnic resistance organisations, both militarily and politically.

📌📌 2. Foreign Minister Daw Zin Mar Aung affirms striving relentlessly to swift and successful conclusion of Spring Revolution


During an interview with RFA in New York on September 21, Daw Zin Mar Aung, Union Minister for Foreign Affairs of the National Unity Government, messaged the public, “We fully understand and empathise with the public’s feelings and hardships. Many have given their lives, and many are imprisoned, while others tremendous social issues even though they have not given their lives. Their villages have been set on fire, and they are being tortured. We would like to convey our empathy with the feelings of the public who live in insecurity.”


Union Minister Daw Zin Mar Aung reaffirmed, “It is our responsibility to bring this revolution to a successful conclusion as soon as possible and put an end to the suffering of the public. With the support of the people, we will fulfil this responsibility with integrity.”

At present, there is a significant acceleration in the military, diplomatic, and financial efforts, with 2023 designated as the decisive year to end the revolution.

📌📌 3. NUG delegation talks with Timor-Leste President Jose Ramos-Horta in New York


On September 21, a delegation from the National Unity Government (NUG), including Foreign Minister Daw Zin Mar Aung, Health and Education Minister Dr. Zaw Wai Soe, Deputy Foreign Minister U Moe Zaw Oo, Deputy Human Rights Minister U Aung Kyaw Moe, and Myanmar’s Representative to the UN, U Kyaw Moe Tun, met with Timor-Leste’s President Jose Ramos-Horta. President Ramos-Horta was in New York, United States, to attend the 78th Session of the UN General Assembly. During the meeting, discussions centred on future collaborations with Timor-Leste and topics related to seeking international recognition.


President Jose Ramos-Horta, in his address to the UN General Assembly, also raised the issue of Myanmar and called upon the international community to support the people of Myanmar.

📌📌 4. Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun to continue in his position at the UN as Myanmar’s representative


Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun, the incumbent Representative of Myanmar to the United Nations, will remain in the post for another General Assembly session.

The UN Credentials Committee, most recently appointed on September 5, will have to decide whether to accept credentials of Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun for another General Assembly session. However, spokesperson for the president of the U.N. General Assembly, Monica Grayley, told RFA that the committee has not sat since it was appointed, which means that Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun will remain in the post. “The credentials that were before, are the credentials that will remain. Whoever sat last year will sit this year,” she told RFA.


Foreign Minister Daw Zin Mar Aung spoke in an interview with RFA, stating that neither the National Unity Government nor the military junta are allowed to represent Myanmar at the UN. However, she emphasised that the voice of the people is still allowed to be represented, allowing Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun to continue representing Myanmar.


The Myanmar Accountability Project (MAP), a UK-based rights group, welcomed the decision by the UN Credentials Committee to keep Kyaw Moe Tun in his post.

📌📌 5. Ministry of Defence recommends financial assistance for PDF battalions through official NUGPay wallets


On September 22, the Ministry of Defence (MOD) announced a collaboration with NUGPay, providing each People’s Defence Force (PDF) battalion with NUGPay accounts to ensure the safety and security of financial transactions made by the general public in offering support.


The official NUGPay wallets for PDF battalions will feature the .mod extension from the Ministry of Defence, signifying MOD verification, in addition to their respective battalion numbers.


The MOD clarified that the .mod extension, which confirms MOD verification, is exclusively issued for PDF battalions.


The MOD encourages the public to conduct transactions exclusively through the officially designated NUGPay wallets established for each PDF battalion, ensuring a safe and secure process.
