The Acting President of the National Unity Government, H.E. Duwa Lashi La attends the opening ceremony of the Second People’s Assembly of NUCC, the Union Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Man Win Khaing Thann sends a message to the International Mine Awareness Day ceremony and the United Nations Human Rights Council holds a meeting to discuss the Myanmar issue.

1. The Acting President of the National Unity Government, H.E. Duwa Lashi La attended the opening ceremony of the Second People’s Assembly, organized by the National Unity Consultative Council-NUCC, on April 4th. At the assembly, the Acting President stated that the National Unity Government is marching consistently according to the five-point political road map established in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Democracy Charter. The Spring Revolution period is also an emergency period for the country and the people to march through. During the time of emergency situation,  the country and the people are also facing a general crisis as well as difficulties caused by the terrorist military junta also put a great burden on the people. Under these situations, we are fighting a combination of the people's revolutionary struggle and the revolutionary war of resistance, the Acting President added. Currently, the National Unity Government is increasing the speed of the military operation, and is working hard to end the revolution as soon as possible by 2024.

2. The Union Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Man Win Khaing Thann sent a message to the International Mine Awareness Day ceremony on April 4th. In this message, the Union Prime Minister stated that landmines continue to be a threat to civilians in different places of Myanmar because of the country's prolonged civil war. More than half of the townships in Myanmar have landmines, and as the armed conflict increases, the number of innocent civilians who are affected by landmines is also increasing day by day. As long as the military dictatorship in Myanmar continues to suffer, innocent civilians will inevitably continue to suffer from landmines. The Union Prime Minister reiterated that only the end of the terrorist military dictatorship and the formation of the people's desired federal democratic union will allow us to live in peace and safety.

3. The United Nations Human Rights Council held a meeting to discuss the Myanmar issue, on April 4. At the meeting, it was discussed that the terrorist military junta should not be allowed to purchase or export aviation fuel on the international market. The UN Human Rights Council's 47 members agreed on this.  In addition, it has been decided to appoint and extend the human rights special representatives for Myanmar and Iran for another year.

4. The Union Minister for the Ministry of Defense of the National Unity Government, U Ye Mon stated on April 4th that Military Headquarters in Nay Pyi Taw and Aela Air Force were attacked with drones, the explosive power of a drone is 20% stronger than that of a 107, and its depth penetration is better. The Nay Pyi Taw long-range drones were used for the first time on April 4th.  All targets have been registered, said the Union Minister. According to the Ministry of Defense, the simultaneous drone attack caused damage. The People's Defense Force—PDF Special Forces and the Kloud Drone Division of the Sha Htoo War Technical Force launched the attack on the Military Headquarters. The Special Forces of the People's Defense Force-PDF and the Leather Weapon Division of the Shah Htoo War Technical Force also targeted the Aela Air Force.

5. US foreign affairs adviser, Derek Chollet, stated on Twitter that he had a meeting with the leaders of KIA, KNU, KNPP and CNF, known as K3C alliance, which is attempting to build a Democratic Federal Union in Myanmar. During the meeting, they discussed increasing the assistance of the international community, as well as building a better future for the people of Myanmar. Last week, President Biden signed and approved the US Congress' support of US$121 million for the Burma ACT Fund for 2024. According to military analysts, the meeting between K3C ethnic armed organizations and US State Department adviser Derek Chollet following congressional approval could have been for technical support rather than military supplies. Karen National Union-KNU, Karenni National Progressive Party-KNPP,  Kachin Independence Organization –KIO, Chin National Front- CNF together with NUG jointly announced the road map of the common agreement for  ending the military dictatorship and building a federal democracy on January 31st, 2024.
