๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 1. Soldier Killed in wrongly Fire Incident in Launglon

A soldier was killed due to wrongly fire among junta troops in Launglon Township, Tanintharyi Region, according to the People's Defense Force (PDF) in Launglon Township.

On December 12, a junta column advancing into Launglon Township intercepted two young men riding motorcycles near Min Yat Village. When the two fled, the soldiers pursued and opened fire on them.

Amid the pursuit, another junta unit stationed inside Min Yat Village mistakenly fired 40mm artillery rounds at the pursuing soldiers, leading to the death of one soldier and injuries to two others.

The two young men managed to escape unharmed. The body of the deceased soldier and the two injured were later transported to a hospital on a truck carrying rubber sheets.

This junta column, comprising over 200 soldiers, has been conducting operations in the northern villages of Launglon Township, where several civilians have reportedly been detained.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 2. Drone Strike Kills Two Soldiers at Junta Camp in Han Lin Pyu

At approximately 7:00 a.m. on December 12, a drone strike targeted a junta base in Han Lin Pyu (Old City) in Wakema Township, resulting in the deaths of two soldiers, according to the Zamani Drone Unit.

The base housed about 50 junta troops. During the attack, two junta soldiers were killed.

The operation was carried out jointly by the Zamani Drone Unit and allied resistance forces, according to the statement.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 3. Junta Convoy of 11 Vehicles from Battalion 33 Attacked by Landmines in Launglon

On December 11, around 9:00 AM, an 11-vehicle junta convoy dispatched from Battalion 33 in Chaung U Township, Monywa District, Sagaing Region, was targeted with landmines at a specific location along the Launglon-Mandalay road by two landmines in Pado Maung Mine, according to the BLDF unit in Anyamone.

During the attack, the sixth military vehicle was struck, resulting in the death of five junta soldiers and severe injuries to two others. Following the landmine explosion, the remaining junta convoy retaliated with small arms and rocket-propelled grenades, driving towards Monywa town.

The attack was carried out by the People’s Defense Force based in Chaung U Township, the BLDF unit in Anyamone, and allied revolutionary groups. The People's Defense Force successfully repelled the attack without causing any casualties among their own ranks.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 4. Junta Squad Attempting Pot Collection Attacked by Landmines, 3 Killed and 2 Seriously Injured

According to information collected by the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP), between September 1, 2024, and December 12, 2024, in Shan State, violent actions by military groups resulted in the deaths of 27 women and 19 men, totaling 46 civilians. Among the deceased were four children under the age of 18 and three elderly individuals over the age of 60. The majority of the fatalities (38) were caused by airstrikes from the military junta, while the remaining eight were due to artillery shelling.

On December 11, around 10:00 AM, a junta column and a motorcycle convoy from the Bawbin Ywa Pyu Sao group departing from Zaykone town were ambushed by a landmine in Shwehtwin Mine. Following the initial attack, both sides engaged in a firefight, resulting in one death within the junta ranks and severe injuries to two individuals out of four injured. Subsequently, two of the seriously injured were transported to a hospital, where they succumbed to their wounds.

The attack was jointly executed by Battalion 3801, Battalion 3 Natsit, and the BTZM GBK PDF unit based in Pakokku Yoe Ma Township. The People's Defense Force reported that no police officers were harmed during the operation, and the attacking forces successfully withdrew.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 5. Forced Recruitment and Abductions of Youth Continue in Ye-U Township Neighborhoods

The junta forces in Sagaing Region’s Ye-U Township have continued forcibly abducting youths from various neighborhoods for compulsory military service, according to a statement released by the Ame Thar People’s Defense Committee (PDC).

Since December 10, junta troops have reportedly been entering residential neighborhoods and forcefully detaining young people. In Aung Myint Thar Ward, at least 10 youths have been arrested, while in Bo Aung Zeya Ward and Shwe Pyithar Ward, more than 20 young people have also been detained.

The detained youths are being held at the Township Hospital and the No. 1 High School compound, where preparations are underway to enroll them in military training.

The junta, facing significant battlefield losses, has escalated its forced recruitment efforts, targeting urban youth in successive waves of abductions. Citizens are being urged to remain cautious and avoid potential detention.

On December 12, the People’s Defense Force Battalion 1222 distributed rice, cooking oil, clothing, and other essential items to internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Singu Township, Mandalay Region, according to an official announcement.

Battalion 1222 emphasized its ongoing commitment to assisting civilians in need and is planning further donations to support those displaced by the conflict.
