📌📌 2. NUG’s Minister of Human Rights, U Aung Myo Min, says that the military council’s declaration of martial law is to inflict more violence on the people
Union Prime Minister Mahn Winn Khaing Thann said in his New Year’s Greetings that the military strength of the NUG is superior and has the capability of attacking the enemy throughout the country, as follows:
“Everyone is already aware that the military council, despite pretending to be strong, is in a precarious situation from which it will be impossible for it to recover in any of the ongoing military, foreign, economic, social, and political sectors. We are superior in terms of military strength and military strategy, and we are in a position where we can attack the enemy everywhere in the country, but there are still challenges in terms of air defence and the ability to equip modern weapons and ammunition.”
The People’s Defensive Revolution began on September 7, 2021, and during over a year of the People’s Defensive Revolution, at least 20,000 members of the military were killed. At present, the people’s defence forces are reported to have the ability to dominate and control the main roads as well as the townships in Sagaing and Magway divisions.

📌📌 3. NUG Deputy Minister U Maw Htun Aung says that employers in Myanmar need to provide their employees with complete labour rights
During an interview with DVB TV News in February, Human Rights Minister U Aung Myo Min said about the martial law announced by the military council:
“A declaration of martial law like this is meant to inflict more violence on the people of those areas. Moreover, it proves their inability to govern those areas. It was intended to legalise illegal actions and legalise the most severe punishment, the death penalty, in order to commit more injustices.”
The military junta declared martial law in 37 townships across Myanmar on February 2, after extending the state of emergency for another six months and refreshing its State Administrative Council. The martial law was imposed in four townships in Kayah (Karenni) State—Demoso, Hpruso, Shadow, and Bawlakhe—and eleven townships in Sagaing Division, five townships in Magway Division, five townships in Bago Division, two townships in Tanintharyi Region, seven townships in Chin State, Ye Township in Mon State, and Kyainseikgyi and Kawkareik townships in Karen State.

📌📌 5. The NUG Foreign Minister and her team will meet Burmese people in New York City
U Nay Tin Myint, executive of the New York City Burmese Community (NYCBC), said the following regarding the meeting between the NUG Foreign Minister and her team:
“We will have a meeting with our NUG Foreign Minister Daw Zin Mar Aung, who will arrive in the United States on February 11, Deputy Minister U Moe Zaw Oo, and Permanent Representative of Myanmar to the United Nations U Kyaw Moe Tun, who are in New York. We organised this event because we wanted to give activists in New York the opportunity to meet and ask questions about issues they wanted to know about in person. We got good results because of arranging this event, and we invited not only the Burmese people in New York but also those activists in the surrounding area and those interested in Myanmar affairs to attend. Since 2023 is a very important year for us in order to win the war, we believe that those people and those activists will be able to contribute to the revolution as part of it.”
People of various ethnic groups in Myanmar who are living in the United States are also contributing towards the Myanmar spring revolution.
