📌📌 1. Union Prime Minister Stresses NUG Government’s Responsibility for Ensuring Public’s Sense of Safety and Security
In a recent meeting of the Interim Local Administration Central Committee (ILACC) on October 5, Union Prime Minister Mahn Winn Khaing Thann emphasised the paramount commitment of the National Unity Government (NUG) to guarantee the safety and security of the public.
During the meeting, the Union Prime Minister emphasised the crucial role that the National Unity Government plays in addressing and taking action against the crimes perpetrated against the people, whether by the terrorist military or our resistance forces. The Union Minister said, “We bear the full responsibility for ensuring the public’s sense of safety and security.”
The military regime is systematically targeting and intentionally killing civilians in rural areas, yet they continue to evade accountability.

📌📌 2. Union Minister Dr. Tu Hkawng Encourages Public Participation in the End of Dictatorship (EOD) Federal Springs Investment Project
In October, Union Minister Dr. Tu Hkawng has issued a call to the public, encouraging their involvement in the Federal Spring Investment Project initiated by the End of Dictatorship (EOD) program.
The investment project, known as the “Federal Springs,” one of the investment projects of the Ministry of Planning, Finance and Investment (MOPFI)’s EOD program aiming to raise revolutionary funds to end the dictatorship.
“Funding is essential to achieving victory in the revolution. Members of the Ministry of Planning, Finance, and Investment are exploring various means to combat the dictatorship alongside the public. It is very important to practically support those who are practically fighting on the ground. In Pyin Oo Lwin, farmland that the military confiscated from the public is being sold to investors, either to raise funds for the revolution or to return the public’s funds to the public. Investing in these land projects, which hold future value, is like killing three birds with one stone,” stated Union Minister Dr. Tu Hkawng.
As part of the EOD program, in the Federal Spring investment project, public land on the outskirts of Pyin Oo Lwin Town along the Mandalay-Lashio Road that the military unlawfully confiscated will be made available to the public for commercial and residential purposes.
The type of land ownership for the Federal Spring investment project will be grant land, and the sale is scheduled to be launched on October 7.

📌📌 3. Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun Highlights Myanmar’s Dire Humanitarian Crisis at UN General Assembly: Nearly 2 Million Internally Displaced and Over 18 Million in Need of Humanitarian Aid Due to Military Junta’s Atrocities
In a recent statement delivered at the Second Committee (Economic and Financial Committee) of the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, under Agenda Item 17: “Follow-up to and Implementation of the Outcomes of the International Conferences on Financing for Development,” Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun, Myanmar’s Permanent Representative to the UN, underscored the dire humanitarian crisis in Myanmar.
Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun emphasised that the significant progress attained by the civilian government during its administration from 2016 to January 2021 has been entirely reversed over the past 31 months due to the illegal military coup. He also highlighted that the military junta’s grievous atrocities and gross violations of human rights have resulted in nearly 2 million people being internally displaced, with over 18 million individuals in dire need of humanitarian assistance and almost half of the population living below the national poverty line.
The Ambassador reiterated that, given the current circumstances, it is of paramount importance to ensure that all assistance intended for the people of Myanmar reaches those in need, in accordance with the principle of leaving no one behind and upholding transparency. Furthermore, he stressed the necessity for all humanitarian and development partners, including the United Nations, to collaborate with all pertinent key stakeholders, including the National Unity Government in Myanmar.

📌📌 4. Federal Wings Drone Force Unit under KNU 1st Brigade Launches Drone Attack on Nyaung Kone BGF Base: Two Killed, Six Severely Injured
The combined forces of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA), the United Democratic Force (UDF), and the unit of the Federal Wings Drone Force under the Karen National Union (KNU) 1st Brigade collaborated on seven drone attacks against the No. 1014 Border Guard Force (BGF), which operates under the military junta and is stationed in Nyaung Knoe village. These attacks took place in Nyaung Kone village, which falls within the territory of the 1st Battalion (Hap-An Township) of the KNU 1st Brigade (Thaton District), between September 23, 2023, and October 2, 2023. A total of 28 drone grenades were employed in these attacks, resulting in the deaths of one BGF soldier and one junta soldier and causing severe injuries to six other junta soldiers.
According to the statement, the No. 1014 BGF Base located in Nyaung Koe village is a military junta base that has been involved in intimidating travelling civilians, extorting money from them, and firing artillery shells into villages in Hpa-An Township.

📌📌 5. Military Junta Column Attacked by Landmines in Salingyi Township
The Peacock King (Daung Min) PDF announced that on October 5, they conducted an operation against a military junta column in the vicinity of Lel Ngauk village and Let Taung Nge village within Salingyi Township. According to their report, they deployed five improvised cluster mines to ambush a military junta convoy and an infantry column that had departed from Lel Ngauk village en route to Let Taung Nge village.
The mines reportedly struck a military vehicle, damaging the engine oil tank. Mines also struck the infantry column; however, it’s unclear how much damage they sustained.

📌📌 6. Over 20,000 Residents of Pale Township Forced to Flee as Military Junta Convoy Enters Pale Town with 18 Trucks and 200 Troops
On October 5, the Pale Township People’s Administrative Organisation (Pale PAO) reported that more than 20,000 residents of Pale Township had been forced to flee their homes as a convoy of the military junta entered Pale Town. The convoy consisted of 18 military trucks and approximately 200 infantry troops.
The statement claimed that the military convoy had spent the night in Lel Ngauk village before advancing to Pale Town at 3:00 p.m. on October 5. Along their route, they engaged in looting civilian possessions and apprehended and subjected civilians to torture.
Furthermore, the Pale PAO also detailed that local people’s defence forces had launched attacks on the military convoy during its travels. These attacks involved the use of mines and drone-dropped bombs, which led to numerous injuries among the junta troops.
Additionally, the report indicates that over 20,000 residents from villages in Pale Township, where there is potential for the military convoy to continue its advance, are fleeing because the convoy is indiscriminately firing heavy weapons, engaging in theft and looting of civilian belongings, and arresting and subjecting civilians to acts of torture along their route.

📌📌 7. NYCBC to Host Its Second Spring Revolution Fundraising Event
The New York City Burmese Community (NYCBC) has announced its plans to host the second Spring Revolution fundraising event, scheduled for October 14 (Saturday) from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. local time at St. James Church in Elmhurst. The event will feature the sale of various items, including Myanmar food, clothing, jewellery, and more, and NYCBC has extended its invitation to the Burmese community to support this event.
Proceeds from the event will be donated to areas in need with the goal of liberating Myanmar from the grasp of the terrorist military dictatorship, as stated by NYCBC.
