1. The Acting President of the National Unity Government, H.E. Duwa Lashi La, attended the 8888 Democracy Uprising Commemoration ceremony on August 8th. The Acting President emphasized that we are currently establishing the foundation for the construction of a future federal democracy in a systematic and thorough manner. He assumed that in order to build a new federal democratic union, we need to build it with four pillars. Independence, democracy, human rights, and federalism are the four founding pillars. The Acting President went on to say that democracy and freedom are partners and that democracy and human rights are essential components that must coexist. He elaborated that all four pillars and revolutionary forces are collaborating to establish the new federal democratic union.

The Union Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Mann Win Khaing Than attended the Interim Local Public Administration Development Central Committee meeting and stated that, with regard to the current emergency situation, we would like to spend more money on activities that directly benefit the war-evacuated sectors. Because there is a medical deficit in the country, we would like to carefully assess the provision of vital medicine for our revolutionary comrades and the general public. Furthermore, the Union Prime Minister emphasized that while dealing with challenges in the township, it is necessary to find out the source of the problem as much as possible, to effectively punish the perpetrators, and to ensure that those who are doing the right thing are not punished wrongly.

3. The National Unity Government sent a message at the 36th anniversary of 8888 Democracy Uprising Day memorial ceremony, on August 8th. The message mentions that the 8888 uprising has turned 36th years in 2024, which is as a beacon of the Myanmar’s democracy history. All citizens, including monks, students, and people of all nationalities, rose up and fought against the one-party dictatorship. The 8888 People's Uprising was a historic public movement that established the foundations of democracy and human rights, as well as a symbol of unity among ethnic peoples born in the Union. Successive dictators having regularly perpetrated terrible crimes against humanity, but because they were free from the legal punishment they deserved, they attempted to take control in the country by refusing to recognize the voters' election in February 2021. Democracy, national equality, and the establishment of a new federal union are the goals of the Spring Revolution, and the National Unity Government will continue to fight for near victory in collaboration with people all over the country, including the Brotherhood Alliance, in the spirit of 8888, which is still alive 36 years later. As a National Unity Government, we offer a message of solemn affirmation that we will continue our march toward victory.

4. The Mandalay PDF-controlled Latpanhla Village, Singu Township of Mandalay Region, was bombarded by the terrorist military junta for two days in consecutive days. As a result, one civilian woman was killed, one was injured, and a hospital, school, and retail stores were damaged, according to the ground scouting truth reporting team (Singu). Latpanhla Village is four miles from Singu Township on the Mandalay-Myitkyina route. On August 5th and 6th, the military junta air force bombed the village. On August 4th, the military junta air force also bombarded the Singu Township villages of Kantaung and Nweyone, killing at least ten civilians, including children. Latpanhla village, which was targeted by the military junta, as the local police station in that village was taken over by the Mandalay PDF during the first week of July. The military junta is now conducting airstrikes on Singu Township without fighting. Mandalay PDF claimed that the military junta used internationally banned types of bombs in those airstrikes. Mandalay PDF entirely took over Singu Township, located near the border of Sagaing and Mandalay Regions on the 17th of July. Singu is also recorded as the first city in Mandalay Region to be seized by Mandalay PDF.

Justice For Myanmar announced on August 7th that BIMSTEC must stop its support to the shameful Myanmar military junta.India and BIMSTEC continue to put business ahead of the lives of the people of Myanmar as they hold their first "BIMSTEC Business Summit" in New Delhi with the participation of the illegal Myanmar military junta's Deputy Minister of Commerce. The military junta is a criminal enterprise that should not be given a platform to fundraise for their atrocity crimes against the people of Myanmar. The Summit is organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry, in partnership with India's Ministry of External Affairs. The two day summit, aims to "forge collaboration", and for "enhanced private sector participation in region’s key project(s)" among BIMSTEC policy makers, businesses and chambers of commerce. The plenaries shamefully feature the military junta's deputy commerce minister Minn Minn; Tin Zaw Myint, the managing director of the junta controlled Oil and Gas Planning Department; and representatives of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI). UMFCCI was dissolved by the legitimate National Unity Government in 2023 for funding the junta's international crimes. Three of the Summit's UMFCCI speakers were also blacklisted by the National Unity Government for their continued cooperation with the junta: Htun Htun Naing, Nan Kalayar Win and Khine Khine Nwe. Business partners sponsoring the summit have provided arms and material that have aided and abetted the Myanmar military.
