๐๐ 2. CDF-Mindat Issues Final Deadline for Civilians in Mindat Township to Surrender Weapons by March 15
February 26
The Chin Defense Force – Mindat (CDF-Mindat) issued an official announcement on February 25, calling on civilians in Mindat Township, Chin State—now free from military junta control—to surrender any weapons and ammunition they may possess to the nearest battalion or military unit by March 15.
CDF-Mindat emphasized that civilians residing within its controlled areas must hand over all weapons and ammunition, whether acquired from retreating junta troops during the Battle of Mindat or obtained through other means. This includes captured firearms, ammunition, and explosives. The final deadline for submission is March 15.
Weapons and ammunition recovered from junta forces will be compensated with a set reward, while those purchased through private transactions can be reimbursed at their original value if verified with solid proof of purchase.
After the deadline, any possession, storage, trade, or distribution of weapons and ammunition will be strictly prohibited and subject to severe legal consequences, CDF-Mindat warned.
CDF-Mindat stated that the directive aims to ensure control over arms within its jurisdiction and protect civilians from the dangers posed by weapons and explosives.
CDF-Mindat, a member of the Chinland Joint Defense Committee and allied resistance forces, launched an offensive against junta troops in Mindat on November 9, 2024. The city was fully captured on December 22, 2024, but civilians were only granted permission to return and resettle on February 9, 2025.

๐๐ 5. Protest Planned at Thai and Malaysian Embassies in London Against the Arrest of Undocumented Myanmar Migrant Workers
February 26
A protest will be held at the Thai and Malaysian embassies in London against the ongoing arrests of undocumented Myanmar migrant workers in Thailand and Malaysia.
The demonstration, scheduled for the afternoon of March 4, is being led by the "Stars of Myanmar Friendship UK" group, which is calling for an immediate halt to the deportation of Myanmar migrant workers.
"As a form of opposition to the arrest and deportation of undocumented Myanmar migrant workers, our organization will stage a peaceful protest. Deportees are being forcibly returned to Myanmar, where they face conscription into the military, forced labor as human shields, and even death on the battlefield. The actions of the Thai and Malaysian governments violate international laws," the group stated.
While Thailand has not signed the Refugee Convention, it has ratified human rights treaties such as the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR), which prohibits forced labor and arbitrary detention.
These reports were submitted by Radio NUG reporters Min Thihan and Ko Khant.
