1. Revolutionary Leaders Attend Second Spring Revolution Alliance Conference

m.CDM — October 9, 2026

Revolutionary leaders, including Acting President Duwa Lashi La of the National Unity Government (NUG) and Dr. Nyo Tun Aung, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Arakan Army (AA), attended the second conference of the Spring Revolution Alliance (SRA).

The three-day conference was held from September 28 to 30. Opening speeches were delivered by NUG Acting President Duwa Lashi La, AA Deputy Commander-in-Chief Dr. Nyo Tun Aung, Women’s League of Burma (WLB) General Secretary Maw Bar Mar Oo, All Burma Students’ Democratic Front (ABSDF) Chairman Comrade Than Khe, and Karenni Nationalities Defence Force (KNDF) Chairman Khun Bedu, who is also a member of the SRA Steering Committee.

A total of 95 participants, including SRA Steering Committee members, representatives, military commanders from member organizations, and observers, attended the conference.

Participants reviewed and discussed reports from three military regions and established future plans and priorities.

The alliance also established a Secretariat consisting of a General Secretary, Joint Secretary 1, and Joint Secretary 2 to improve operational efficiency, coordination, and administrative effectiveness.

According to the SRA, the alliance is organized not only as a military coalition but also as a political alliance.

Participants approved amendments to certain organizational structures and policies, including provisions intended to ensure accountability and disciplinary action against members who commit war crimes.

The SRA reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with allied organizations to end dictatorship and establish a federal democratic system in Myanmar.

2. Military Suffers Reported Heavy Losses Near Sittwe and Moebye as Fighting Intensifies in Momeik

m.CDM — October 9, 2026

Military sources reported that approximately 20 Myanmar military personnel were killed when the Arakan Army (AA) attacked military forces attempting an amphibious landing on Ngapyi Island in Pauktaw Township, east of Sittwe, Rakhine State.

On the evening of October 8, AA forces reportedly used artillery and drones to attack military vessels approaching the island.

One landing craft was reportedly struck directly and exploded.

On October 9, two additional military naval vessels were reportedly hit. Despite these losses, military commanders allegedly continued sending newly recruited soldiers toward the island aboard speedboats.

Since October 7, military forces surrounded in Sittwe have reportedly deployed six naval vessels and approximately ten speedboats in an attempt to establish a foothold on Ngapyi Island and open an escape route.

Some soldiers who managed to land reportedly engaged in intense fighting with AA forces. Dozens were said to have been killed, while others were captured alive.

The military has reportedly provided extensive air support using fighter jets during the fighting.

Residents also reported intense clashes beginning on the morning of October 9 near Tawkan and Narikan, close to the military’s Sittwe Regional Operations Command.

Meanwhile, heavy fighting erupted between Myanmar military troops and combined Karenni revolutionary forces west of Moebye, near the Shan–Karenni border.

Military sources claimed that approximately 70 military personnel were killed.

The military column had reportedly advanced from Pekon Township in an attempt to control the Moebye–Nanmekhon road.

On October 7, the column was attacked near the foot of Loi Yin Mountain, reportedly suffering heavy casualties before retreating.

Combined revolutionary forces subsequently pursued the retreating troops, captured an outpost, and seized weapons, ammunition, and several prisoners of war.

Following these setbacks, the military reportedly carried out repeated aerial bombardments using fighter jets, Y-12 aircraft, and explosive drones.

Residents have been urged to remain particularly alert to the danger of airstrikes.

In northern Shan State, intense fighting has also continued between combined Kachin Independence Army (KIA) forces and Myanmar military troops along the Momeik–Twin Nge road.

Clashes reportedly intensified at approximately 4 a.m. on October 9.

Military fighter jets allegedly conducted repeated bombing raids on Sintai Kone Village and surrounding areas.

Fighting was also reported near Waibaung Village along the Momeik–Twin Nge road on October 8.

According to reports, combined revolutionary forces currently control Waibaung, Lisu, and Sintai Kone villages.

The reported casualty figures and battlefield developments have not been independently verified.

3. Child and Elderly Man Killed in Mindon Paramotor Bombing; Two Injured in Depayin

m.CDM — October 9, 2026

Two civilians, including a child, were killed and three others injured when Myanmar military forces carried out a paramotor bombing attack on Chin Nit Village in Mindon Township, Thayet District, Magway Region.

According to a statement from Thayet District Battalion No. 4, three paramotors took off from Defense Products Factory No. 12 near Thayet at approximately 5 p.m. on October 8.

The aircraft reportedly dropped nine bombs on Chin Nit Village and also fired small arms at the settlement.

The attack killed 12-year-old Maung Wai Yan Oo and 83-year-old U Tun Tin at the scene.

Three other young residents were injured.

Seven cattle were also killed, while a local clinic and several houses sustained damage.

Military columns have recently been advancing from western Mindon Township toward Rakhine State, resulting in frequent clashes.

However, Chin Nit Village is located in the eastern part of the township, away from the main areas of fighting.

On September 13, another military paramotor attack on Zun Kya Village in Mindon Township reportedly killed six civilians, including four children.

In a separate incident, Myanmar military forces allegedly dropped two bombs from a paramotor onto Nyaung Pu Htoe Village in Depayin Township, Sagaing Region, shortly after 4 p.m. on October 9.

According to the Depayin Township People’s Administration Team, the attack injured 24-year-old Ko Thet Paing Phyo, who has a congenital disability, and a 45-year-old woman.

4. Military Column Accused of Killing Civilian in Flood-Affected Thayetchaung Township

m.CDM — October 9, 2026

Myanmar military troops advancing into flood-affected Thayetchaung Township in Tanintharyi Region reportedly arrested, tortured, and killed a civilian, according to a statement issued by the Karen National Union (KNU) Myeik–Dawei District.

The KNU said a combined military column consisting of Light Infantry Battalions 403, 404, and 409 entered Thayetchaung Township, known as Kaserdoh Township under the KNU’s administrative designation.

On October 6, the military column allegedly killed a civilian from Tha Chaung Gyi Village.

The KNU Myeik–Dawei District accused the military of systematically torturing and killing civilians in an effort to maintain its control over the country.

On October 5, military artillery shelling of Pyin Phyu Gyi Village in Thayetchaung Township also reportedly killed a woman.

Local revolutionary forces have reported that the military continues to conduct airstrikes, artillery attacks, and ground offensives in Launglon, Yebyu, and Thayetchaung townships, despite recent flooding and landslides that have severely affected communities across Tanintharyi Region.

The Dawei National Liberation Army (DNLA) and Tactical Command 33 of the People’s Defence Force (PDF) Tanintharyi Regional Military Command warned that they would respond to military operations carried out while communities in Dawei District are struggling with deaths, displacement, and other hardships caused by flooding and landslides.

Revolutionary organizations have also urged residents to remain vigilant regarding military movements, ground offensives, and aerial bombardments.

5. Myanmar Military Accused of Sexual Violence and Digital Repression, Says Ambassador Kyaw Moe Tun

m.CDM — October 9, 2026

Myanmar’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun, accused the military authorities of using sexual and gender-based violence against women as a weapon of war while employing advanced technologies to carry out digital repression.

The ambassador made the remarks on October 8 during an interactive discussion on eliminating discrimination against women at the Third Committee of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

He explained that since the military coup in 2021, women and girls in Myanmar have faced torture and sexual violence in prisons, detention facilities, and interrogation centers.

He also expressed concern over increasing deaths of female political prisoners while in detention.

The ambassador highlighted the death of Daw Khin Thida, a laboratory supervisor who participated in the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM).

She reportedly died at Mandalay’s Obo Prison on September 28 after being denied adequate medical treatment.

Ambassador Kyaw Moe Tun also accused the military authorities of using artificial intelligence-based facial recognition, biometric tracking, and surveillance technologies to target female activists, human rights defenders, and political opponents.

He emphasized that Myanmar’s domestic judicial system has broken down, leaving victims without effective legal remedies.

The ambassador urged the international community and the United Nations system to explore ways to provide meaningful justice and legal protection for victims.

He stressed that achieving genuine justice requires accountability, effective enforcement of international standards, and an end to impunity.

6. United Nations Warns That More Than Two-Thirds of Myanmar’s Population Faces Poverty or Risk of Poverty

m.CDM — October 9, 2026

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has warned that more than two-thirds of Myanmar’s population is either experiencing poverty or at risk of falling into poverty.

According to its October report, Layers of Deprivation: Multidimensional Poverty in Myanmar, more than 17.9 million people are currently experiencing multidimensional poverty, while another 19.5 million are vulnerable to poverty.

UNDP estimates that approximately 32.6 percent of Myanmar’s population, or nearly 18 million people, are living in poverty.

Another 19.5 million people face a significant risk of falling into poverty.

17.9M

Living in multidimensional poverty

19.5M

At risk of poverty

68%

Experiencing or vulnerable to poverty

Figures reported in the m.CDM script, attributed to UNDP.

Together, more than 37 million people, approximately 68 percent of the population, are either living in poverty or at risk of falling into it.

Kanni Wignaraja, United Nations Assistant Secretary-General and UNDP Regional Director for Asia and the Pacific, described the situation as an exceptionally severe level of deprivation that is undermining both humanitarian assistance and development efforts in Myanmar.

Since the 2021 military coup, armed conflict, limited access to essential services, and economic instability have contributed to worsening poverty throughout the country.

Wignaraja emphasized that the ongoing conflict benefits no one, with communities across the country suffering and Myanmar’s fundamental human potential being systematically eroded.

The UNDP report was based on telephone interviews with 7,463 households nationwide.

Rather than measuring poverty solely through income, researchers used a multidimensional poverty index that considers deprivation in health, education, and living standards.

According to the report, more than 80 percent of the measured deprivations were associated with health and living conditions.

Many people face serious difficulties accessing healthcare, adequate housing, safe drinking water, sanitation, and other essential services.

These challenges are particularly severe in conflict-affected regions.

UNDP also expressed concern about Myanmar’s growing loss of human capital as young people leave the country because of limited opportunities for education, employment, and mobility.

7. PDF and Local Defense Forces Attack Pyu Saw Htee Outpost in Kyunsu Township

m.CDM — October 9, 2026

Combined forces from the People’s Defence Force (PDF), under the National Unity Government’s Ministry of Defence, and local People’s Defence Teams (Pa Ka Pha) attacked a Pyu Saw Htee militia outpost in Kyunsu Township, Myeik District, Tanintharyi Region, on October 8.

According to local defense officials, the attack targeted a militia group led by a commander known as Gwe Mae in Mine Twe Village, Kabin Village Tract.

The militia members were accused of intercepting boats belonging to local residents purchasing food supplies, extorting money, and imposing arbitrary fines by alleging that the boats were transporting materials for resistance forces.

Kyunsu Township’s People’s Defence Team said it had repeatedly received complaints from residents that the militia was deliberately restricting food supplies to Mine Twe Village and neighboring communities.

In response, resistance fighters launched a surprise attack using heavy and small arms against the fortified Pyu Saw Htee checkpoint near the entrance to Mine Twe Village.

The militia returned fire, resulting in a brief exchange lasting several minutes.

The resistance forces reportedly withdrew without casualties.

The extent of casualties or damage on the Pyu Saw Htee side remains under investigation.

The Kyunsu Township People’s Defence Team warned that further attacks could follow if the militia continued extorting money from civilians through accusations and arbitrary penalties.

8. Police Sub-Inspector Defects to Harbinger of Death PDF

m.CDM — October 9, 2026

A police sub-inspector serving under Myanmar’s military authorities has defected to the Harbinger of Death People’s Defence Force (HOD-PDF), according to a statement issued by the organization on October 8.

The group said the officer decided to leave the military-controlled police system and join the side of the people.

The officer’s identity has not been disclosed for security reasons.

According to the statement, the sub-inspector contacted an HOD-PDF member to arrange his defection.

Comrade Min Swan Htet, an official of the organization, reportedly welcomed the officer and arranged for his safe transfer through the appropriate channels.

HOD-PDF renewed its appeal to police officers and soldiers still serving under military authorities to leave their positions and join the people’s movement.

The Harbinger of Death PDF is reportedly expanding its operations in Yangon Region.

The organization is also said to provide explosives and combat training to Yangon-based underground resistance groups while developing small unmanned attack drones.

9. Myanmar Migrant Workers’ Advocates Urge Thailand to Shut Down CI Centers and Crack Down on Exploitative Brokers

m.CDM — October 9, 2026

Myanmar migrant workers’ rights advocates in Thailand have called for legal action against brokers accused of exploiting migrant workers and demanded the closure of Certificate of Identity (CI) centers operated by Myanmar’s military authorities.

On October 7, representatives led by the Bright Future organization submitted their demands to the Labor Affairs Committee of Thailand’s House of Representatives.

Surat Giri of Bright Future said the organization had repeatedly called for the closure of CI centers.

Although Thai authorities had postponed action on previous requests, he expressed hope that the latest appeal would produce results.

The advocates also reported that brokers were charging Myanmar migrant workers between 5,000 and more than 10,000 Thai baht per person to enter Thailand’s formal employment registration system.

They called on Thai authorities to investigate and prosecute brokers involved in these practices.

The group also requested the closure of CI centers operated by Myanmar’s military authorities and urged Thailand to allow migrant workers to use their pink identification cards as their primary documentation.

A member of Thailand’s parliamentary Labor Affairs Committee, Sahawat Khumkhun, reportedly suggested that the government reconsider whether CI centers are necessary.

He also recommended addressing unauthorized charges imposed on workers and reforming the registration system.

Meanwhile, reports indicate that CI centers are scheduled to reopen on October 15 under an agreement between the Thai government and Myanmar’s military authorities.

More than 400,000 Myanmar workers who recently obtained new work permits may be required to apply for CI documents.

U Wai Lin Maung, a labor attaché who joined the Civil Disobedience Movement, warned that workers could face substantial expenses, including CI booklet fees, visa charges, and taxes imposed by Myanmar’s military authorities.

He argued that the issuance of CI documents primarily benefits the Myanmar military authorities financially and is not inherently a requirement imposed by the Thai government.

He therefore encouraged Myanmar workers not to feel compelled to obtain CI documents.

However, workers should verify their individual immigration and employment documentation requirements with the relevant Thai authorities before making decisions about CI applications.

6. SCEF Condemns Min Aung Hlaing’s Malaysia Visit

The Steering Council for the Emergence of a Federal Democratic Union (SCEF) strongly criticized Malaysia’s official reception of Min Aung Hlaing, warning that it could legitimize Myanmar’s military authorities. 7. Arakan Army Thanks Groups Condemning Kyauktaw Airstrike

The Arakan Army (AA) thanked domestic and international organizations for condemning the September 28 military airstrike on Kyauktaw, which reportedly killed 50 civilians and injured 57. Hello, and welcome. From this moment, we will be presenting m.CDM’s domestic news.

Today’s main stories are:

2. More than 280 civilians were killed over a three-month period as a result of attacks by the military junta.
3. Myanmar’s ambassador to the United Nations warned the international community that a military junta hostile to the people cannot be a partner for social development.
4. Justice For Myanmar revealed that Malaysian companies had attempted to supply aviation-related equipment and services to the Myanmar military.

We will also bring you other news stories.

Now, beginning with our first story:

1. KNDPC Official and Vendor Killed in Drone Attack on Hpakant General Administration Office; Villages Near Defense Industry No. 16 Blockaded, Causing Food and Medicine Shortages

m.CDM, October 7

According to local reports, two drone bombs exploded on the afternoon of October 7 at the General Administration Office in Hpakant Township, Kachin State, while township authorities, military council personnel, and businesspeople were holding a meeting.

The first drone bomb landed outside the office hall, killing U Darun Zaw Aung, an official of KNDPC Company and chairman of the Lone Khin Golf Course.

The second drone bomb reportedly landed beneath a structure near the office, killing a vendor who was selling goods there.

Meanwhile, residents of Mathone, Kyar Chay Yar, and Kyauk Za Kwe villages near Defense Industry No. 16 in Pandaung Township, western Bago Region, said they have been prohibited from leaving their villages and that routes in and out have been tightly blocked.

Day laborers can no longer travel to work, while obtaining food and basic commodities has also become increasingly difficult.

In addition, on September 20, forests and hills surrounding Mathone Village near the factory were reportedly burned and cleared using drones to drop bottles filled with fuel and explosives.

The reported purpose was to create open visibility so that approaching armed groups could be seen from a distance.

⸻

2. Fighting Continues in Rakhine, Karenni and Kachin Regions

m.CDM, October 7

Karenni military sources reported that on the morning of October 7, joint Karenni revolutionary forces attacked a military council column advancing from Mobye in Pekon Township, near the Karenni-Shan border, toward Nan Mae Khon.

The military reportedly suffered significant casualties and withdrew after calling in air support.

The exact number of military casualties could not yet be confirmed, but two aircraft reportedly carried out approximately two airstrikes.

The military is attempting to establish positions through Loi Woe and Loi Yin Mingalar villages west of Mobye in order to regain control of the Mobye-Nan Mae Khon highway.

In Rakhine State, the Arakan Army, or AA, has reportedly shifted from counteroffensive operations in Sittwe and Kyaukphyu to more direct offensive operations.

On October 4, the AA launched an offensive toward the Taung Maw Oo naval base in Kyaukphyu Township and reportedly seized several security outposts along the access route to the naval base, including the Awa Taung security post.

Fighting has continued between AA forces and military reinforcements sent toward Taung Maw Oo.

In Sittwe Township, fighting has reportedly continued for around two days in areas including Yay Chan Pyin, Gwi Htae, Pa Da Leik, Nari Kan, Taw Kan, War Bo Island, Kwan Taung, and around the Shwe Min Gan naval base.

The military council has also reportedly been sending reinforcements into the area.

The AA is also attacking military positions between Myint Kyun Bridge and War Bo Village near Sittwe, as well as the No. 343 military equipment unit near the Pa Da Leik-Ma Tauk Tae junction and the No. 17 military hospital near Yay Chan Pyin.

Similarly, fighting broke out near Bhamo University on October 7, and the military reportedly carried out two aerial bombing attacks.

Fighting is also taking place near Seven Mile Village on the road from Momeik to Mabein due to a military offensive.

Military tensions remain high in the Sezin area of Hpakant Township and in Khaunglanphu Township, where the military council is reportedly resupplying food and ammunition by air.

3. Two Pa Ka Pha Members Shot Dead; Money and Weapons Missing; Three Suspects Transferred to District Pa Ka Pha

m.CDM, October 7

Two members of the People’s Defense Team, or Pa Ka Pha, from Nat Ywar Village in Butalin Township were shot dead in Depayin Township, Sagaing Region, and more than 20 million kyats in cash and weapons they were carrying reportedly went missing.

The two men, Min Thiha and Aung Min Htwe, both in their twenties, were reportedly shot on the evening of October 4 between Taik Village and Oak Shit Gyi Village in Depayin Township.

They died from gunshot wounds to the head.

They had reportedly traveled to Pauk Chaing Village in Shwebo Township to collect approximately 22 million kyats owed to them and were attacked while returning.

Sources have given slightly differing accounts about the money.

Some said it was payment owed for weapons, while another source said it also included money withdrawn through KPay on behalf of a displaced woman.

Spent cartridges were found at the scene.

The two men were found dead with gunshot wounds to the head, and two firearms they had been carrying, along with approximately 22 million kyats, were missing.

Three members of the Pa Ka Pha from Pauk Chaing Village in Shwebo Township were arrested near Shwe Pan Kone Village in Wetlet Township in connection with the incident and were transferred to Monywa District Pa Ka Pha on October 6.

The three suspects were two men and one woman.

Three mobile phones, twelve 7.62-mm cartridge cases, two 5.56-mm cartridge cases, and one MA-1 rifle bearing the number 41007 were also reportedly transferred with them.

Local sources identified the detainees as U Kyaw, Ko Paing, and Ko Paing’s wife, Ma Sandi.

The case is being investigated by the Monywa District Pa Ka Pha, which has jurisdiction over the areas connected to the incident.

The bodies of the two deceased men were retrieved by the relevant Pa Ka Pha groups and cremated the following day.

⸻

4. Pa Ka Pha Base Opened in Lahe; Financial Assistance Provided to Victims of Airstrikes in Kanbalu

m.CDM, October 7

According to statements from Pa Ka Pha Voice, People’s Defense Teams operating under the Ministry of Defense of the National Unity Government are continuing to organize local units across Sagaing Region while also providing support to civilians killed or injured in military airstrikes.

In Lahe Township in the Naga region, an opening ceremony was held on October 4 for a Pa Ka Pha base named “Joshua.”

Officials from the Sagaing Region Naga-area Pa Ka Pha and local administrative bodies attended.

Discussions focused on strengthening the organization of local Pa Ka Pha units and expanding their operations.

Local residents also attended the opening ceremony.

In Kanbalu Township, the emergency relief officer and information and communications officer of the Kanbalu Township Pa Ka Pha visited affected areas on October 6 and provided financial assistance to civilians who had suffered from military airstrikes.

They also met with relatives of those killed and with injured residents and offered words of encouragement.

The Kanbalu Township Pa Ka Pha said its activities are not limited to combat duties, but also include public-service responsibilities.

⸻

5. Nearly 60 Schools Damaged and More Than 40 Students Killed in KNU-Controlled Areas Since the Coup

m.CDM, October 7

The Karen National Union, or KNU, announced on October 6 that over more than five years since the military coup, 59 schools in KNU-administered areas have been damaged by military attacks and more than 40 students have been killed.

In a video report covering the period from 2021 to 2026, the KNU said 41 students were killed and 90 were injured by artillery fire and airstrikes.

The KNU said:

“The terrorist military council led by Min Aung Hlaing is not only violating the Geneva Conventions but is also deliberately destroying the education of the Karen people.”

The military also carried out airstrikes against schools in KNU territory during September.

On September 19, the military bombed Kyathaung Seik Village in Bilin Township, KNU Brigade 1 territory.

The attack damaged a school, staff housing and civilian homes.

The KNU said high-explosive bombs dropped at night destroyed school buildings and 36 civilian houses.

The military has continued using airstrikes, artillery and other attacks against civilian areas in KNU territory during October.

On October 1, a drone bombing struck Kyauk Gyi Pauk Village in Mone Township, Nyaunglebin District, KNU Brigade 3 territory, killing a 17-year-old and injuring six civilians.

The KNU also said the military has ignored the ASEAN Five-Point Consensus and continues to attack innocent civilians nationwide using aircraft, drones and artillery.

It further accused the military of committing war crimes on a daily basis, including arresting and killing civilians.

⸻

6. Myanmar Ambassador Warns That a Military Junta Hostile to the People Cannot Be a Partner for Social Development

m.CDM, October 7

Myanmar’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun, warned the international community that a military junta that is hostile toward the people cannot be a partner for social development.

He made the remarks during the general debate on social development at the United Nations General Assembly’s Third Committee, which covers social, humanitarian and cultural issues.

In his statement, Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun said Myanmar has been facing multiple crises more than five years after the unlawful military coup and that the people have been deprived of basic opportunities for social development because of the military junta.

He said Myanmar’s people are facing systematic human-rights violations, indiscriminate aerial bombardments, and deliberate destruction of civilian infrastructure, including schools and hospitals.

He also said forced recruitment and widespread violence across the country are destroying the futures of young people.

Against this background, he explained that Myanmar’s people are struggling to survive amid severe uncertainty, describing it as a bitter reality.

He said the military junta has completely disregarded international humanitarian law and international human-rights law and has committed serious war crimes and crimes against humanity.

In contrast, he said the National Unity Government, or NUG, is working together with ethnic partners and revolutionary forces to promote social development in Myanmar.

Given this contrast, he urged the international community to recognize that a military junta that attacks and terrorizes its own people cannot be a partner for social development.

He called on the international community to urgently take three actions: reject the military junta, hold accountable those responsible for atrocities, and stand firmly with the people of Myanmar in their effort to build a peaceful federal democratic union based on justice and human dignity.

7. Justice For Myanmar Says Malaysian Companies Attempted to Supply Aviation Equipment to Myanmar Military

m.CDM, October 7

Justice For Myanmar has reported that Malaysian companies either engaged in or attempted business dealings with the Myanmar military involving aviation equipment and maintenance services.

The findings were based on leaked documents and trade data.

According to the investigation, between 2023 and 2026 Malaysian companies FJ Global Aeroparts, Asia AeroTechnic, or AAT, and Skyways Technics Asia had dealings with the Myanmar military or companies acting as intermediaries on its behalf.

Justice For Myanmar said FJ Global attempted to obtain aircraft parts for K-8W combat aircraft, Orlan-10E drones, and Ka-28, Mi-17 and Mi-2 helicopters used by the Myanmar military.

It also stated that FJ Global received financing in February 2026 from the government-backed PUNB.

Myanmar military engineers also reportedly visited AAT regarding maintenance of a military-owned Airbus A319 aircraft.

AAT is wholly owned by MARA Corporation, which is linked to the Malaysian government.

Skyways Technics Asia may also have supplied aircraft parts linked to the Myanmar Air Force through Myanmar companies including Light Head Group of Companies, K L S Aviation and United Five.

Myanmar National Airlines and Mingalar Aviation also reportedly attempted to send aircraft components to Skyways for repair.

Justice For Myanmar further stated that Malaysia invited a Myanmar military delegation led by Police Brigadier General Hlaing Min to the 49th ASEAN Intelligence Community Conference, scheduled to take place in Kuala Lumpur from November 2 to 6, 2026.

Justice For Myanmar called on the Malaysian government to investigate companies accused of providing aviation equipment and maintenance services to the Myanmar military, cut supply chains linked to the military, and stop granting political legitimacy to the junta.

8. Group Formed in Yangon to Cover Medical and Travel Expenses for Victims of Stray-Dog Bites

m.CDM, October 7

Animal lovers in Yangon have formed an organization to provide medical and travel expenses to people bitten by stray dogs.

Members of the group said it was established during the first week of October.

The organization, called the Yangon Stray Management and Public Assistance Association, or YSMPA, was created to help manage stray dogs in Yangon Region and provide assistance to the public.

Its first meeting was held on October 4.

Interim chairperson Daw Wai Wai Moe said YSMPA was established to prevent stray dogs from being killed by poisoning.

She wrote on social media:

“If you want fewer stray animals, support this organization. If you oppose poisoning and killing them, support and cooperate with this organization.”

YSMPA says it aims to control stray-dog reproduction through humane methods, help cover treatment and transportation expenses for people bitten by stray dogs, relocate dangerous dogs to shelters, prevent poisoning, and work toward creating a rabies-free community.

The organization has not yet released details on exactly how support will be provided to dog-bite victims.

It is expected to establish a core fund and open a bank account before putting the assistance program into operation.

Stray dogs remain a major public-safety challenge in Yangon.

Some members of the public have welcomed the creation of an organization that seeks to help address the problem in a structured way rather than focusing solely on protecting animals.

9. More Than 280 Civilians Killed in Three Months Due to Military Junta, AAPP Says

m.CDM, October 7

More than 280 civilians were killed over a three-month period as a result of the military junta, according to the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners, or AAPP.

AAPP said that between July 1 and September 30 it was able to verify by name the deaths of 284 civilians nationwide caused by the military junta.

Among those killed were 112 women and 172 men.

The victims included 34 children under the age of 18.

AAPP said 203 people were killed in airstrikes carried out by the military.

During the same three-month period, AAPP also separately recorded another 204 civilian deaths attributed to the military junta that still require verification.

The organization said it is continuing efforts to confirm those cases.

According to AAPP records, from the beginning of the military takeover on February 1, 2021, through October 6, 2026, the number of civilians killed by the military and its affiliates had reached 8,494.
