๐ฉ๐ฉ 2. Dissolution of Federal Wings Committee, Final Financial Report Submitted
On February 7, Radio NUG reported that the Federal Wings Committee has been officially dissolved, with the final financial report including funds contributed by the Union Minister and two volunteers.
The report clarified allegations circulating on social media claiming that the Ministry of Communications, Information, and Technology (MOCIT) failed to account for its finances. The investigation revealed these claims were baseless.
The Federal Wings Committee was initially formed with Union Minister U Htin Lin Aung from MOCIT and two volunteers, who ensured smooth operations. However, conflicts reportedly arose after the inclusion of a new member. This individual engaged in mocking drone units and actions that created division among members on social media, leading to operational difficulties.
The committee’s rules stipulated that volunteers had no authority to spend donated funds, which were managed and allocated systematically. By November 30, 2024, the committee stopped accepting online donations, having raised a total of SGD 1,210,431.55 and spent SGD 1,466,987.32, leaving a deficit of SGD 256,555.77.
All financial records are being securely maintained for future audits when the revolution concludes or as deemed appropriate.
According to Federal Wings, one of the reasons for terminating its collaboration with MOCIT was to ensure that donations collected from the public were systematically handed over and transparently managed by a designated government ministry.
