Without any active battles, the junta forces launched airstrikes, drone attacks, and artillery shelling, causing civilian casualties and property damage in Shwe Kyin and Kyaikto townships.
According to the central command of the Karen National Union (KNU), in Saw Htee Township, also known as Shwe Kyin Township within Brigade 3 territory, a civilian was injured due to the junta’s indiscriminate airstrikes and artillery shelling. Additionally, three houses and a school building were destroyed.
On March 15, at around noon, the junta’s Naypyidaw-based air force dropped two 300-pound bombs on Thatu Kone village in Saw Htee Township, injuring a 50-year-old man and destroying a house and a village school.
Similarly, on March 14, Battalion 264 of the junta forces fired three 120mm artillery shells into Kyaing Kyun village, resulting in the destruction of two civilian homes.
The KNU further stated that civilians in Khale Luhtu District (also known as Naung Lae Pin District) are living in fear due to continuous acts of terrorism by the junta forces targeting the civilian population.
In early March, the junta also launched drone and artillery attacks on Kyaikto Township, part of KNU Brigade 1 territory, injuring civilians and causing damage to houses and farmlands.
Moreover, in Mon State’s Kyaikto Township, despite the absence of clashes, junta forces carried out drone strikes and bombings on villages, injuring civilians and damaging homes and farms.
On March 1, the junta’s drone unit from Kwali Lake Base dropped six bombs on Pyin Katone Kone village’s cemetery and a 100-acre mining area. On the same day, the junta’s 310th artillery unit fired ten rounds, and the 207th Infantry Battalion, under the 44th Light Infantry Division, fired eight rounds of heavy artillery.
These attacks resulted in the destruction of a house, cemetery tombs, and farmlands in Pyin Katone Kone village. Additionally, crops owned by civilians in Sitkwin, Maukamaut, and Thonekhone villages in Kyaikto Township’s Khare Village Tract were damaged.
Between March 4 and March 6, junta airstrikes and heavy artillery shelling caused further civilian casualties and extensive damage to farmlands, according to the KNU.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 4. PDFInsight Predicts an Imminent Siege of Pyay City
According to PDFInsight, which analyzes military affairs, Pyay City is expected to be encircled and besieged if the Arakan Army (AA) advances and collaborates with NUG-affiliated resistance forces in the surrounding region.
"The Arakan Army’s offensive has already reached Pantanaw Township, adjacent to Pyay Township. Soon, it will approach Pyay City itself. The surrounding areas, including Paukkaung, Paungde, Nattalin, Oakpho, Letpadan, and Thayarwady, have already been experiencing guerrilla attacks from NUG, PDF, and Pa Ka Pha forces. If the AA advances from Pantanaw and links up with the NUG forces in the Pyay region, the city will be completely surrounded," PDFInsight stated.
It further noted that once the Pyay region is established as a resistance stronghold, it will be strategically connected to the Western Bago front, where the "Sit Taung Myit Wun" military operation is currently underway.
Meanwhile, the National Unity Government is also actively implementing the "Yoma Ayeyar" offensive in the Ayeyarwady Region.
