๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 1. Chin National Front Announces Plans to Intensify Political, Military, and Diplomatic Activities This Year

The Chin National Front (CNF) has declared that it will step up its political, military, and diplomatic efforts throughout 2025. In commemoration of Chin Revolution Day on March 20, CNF’s Central Executive Committee announced the release of 72 detainees as an act of amnesty.

March 20 marks the 37th anniversary of the armed struggle launched to eradicate dictatorship entirely and to establish a federal union that guarantees self-determination and equal rights for all nationalities.

Over the past two months, CNF successfully captured several military council outposts, eliminated approximately 30 enemy personnel, detained 20 soldiers, and seized around 80 weapons.

CNF also reaffirmed its commitment to eradicating the military council's influence in Chin State and abolishing the 2008 Constitution’s authority. The organization pledged to collaborate with other ethnic armed groups and People’s Defense Forces (PDFs) to achieve a genuine federal union through sustained armed resistance.

Furthermore, CNF urged the international community, including governments, organizations, and humanitarian groups, to provide support for the reconstruction of communities affected by the junta’s violence.

๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 2. Arrest of ARSA Leader in Bangladesh Strengthens the Case for Min Aung Hlaing and Associates to Face ICC Prosecution

The recent arrest of an Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) leader by Bangladeshi authorities has further solidified the case for Min Aung Hlaing and his associates to be brought before the International Criminal Court (ICC), according to Dr. Htun Aung Shwe, the National Unity Government (NUG) representative to Australia, who made the statement on March 19.

"The arrest of the ARSA leader in Bangladesh not only strengthens the case for Min Aung Hlaing and his associates to be referred to the ICC, but also sheds light on the evolving relationship between the Arakan Army (AA) and the Bangladeshi government. This is a significant development that could put an end to the military junta’s exploitation of the Rohingya for its own political gains. Additionally, it represents an important step in the ongoing efforts led by Professor Yunus, the leader of Bangladesh’s interim government, to find a resolution to the Rohingya crisis," Dr. Htun Aung Shwe stated.

On March 17, Bangladeshi authorities arrested six high-ranking ARSA leaders, including their top leader Ataullah.

๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 3. Fortify Rights Urges Bangladesh to Collaborate with International Judicial Mechanisms for ARSA Leader Prosecution

Human rights organization Fortify Rights has called on the Bangladeshi government to work with international judicial mechanisms to ensure accountability for war crimes committed by the recently arrested ARSA leaders.

On March 17, Bangladeshi authorities apprehended six top ARSA leaders and a total of ten individuals linked to the group. They were brought to court on March 18, prompting Fortify Rights’ appeal for international cooperation.

Among those arrested were ARSA’s leader Ataullah, along with senior figures Mostak Ahmed, Salimullah, Esmul Husna, Hassan, and Moniruzzaman. The detainees also included three of their wives and a child.

According to Fortify Rights’ report released on March 18, ARSA has committed war crimes, including murder, abductions, torture, and intimidation, against Rohingya refugees. The report provided evidence of these crimes occurring in refugee camps in Bangladesh, targeting Rohingya men, women, and children.

As a result, Fortify Rights urged Bangladesh to collaborate with international judicial bodies such as the Independent Investigative Mechanism for Myanmar (IIMM) and the ICC to ensure justice.

Currently, Bangladeshi authorities are prosecuting the six arrested ARSA leaders and four others for illegal entry and other crimes. However, Fortify Rights emphasized that domestic legal action alone is insufficient and called for international judicial involvement to ensure justice for the victims.
