๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 1. Four Civilians Killed in Taungtha Township Due to Indiscriminate Shelling by the Military Junta

July 2

According to the Public Administration Team of Taungtha Township, four civilians were killed as a result of indiscriminate shelling by the junta troops currently conducting military operations along the border area between Myingyan and Taungtha townships in Mandalay Region.

A junta column of around 150 troops, which had set fire to civilian homes in villages along the Myingyan-Taungtha border, was attacked by revolutionary resistance forces, reportedly resulting in casualties on the junta’s side.

This military column departed from Ngathayauk village tract in Myingyan Township on June 26, targeting civilian homes in Kamma, Zaymagyi, Sintharmwe, Tawphyar, and Thanatpin villages, burning them down before proceeding to villages in the western part of Taungtha Township.

Due to attacks by revolutionary forces, the column was forced to change direction. To reinforce the column, additional junta troops and Pyusawhti militia from Myinchan fired heavy artillery from Htanpinkant Village in Taungtha Township. The shells landed on Theekone Village, hitting civilian homes and killing two men and two women, while two others were injured.

The junta column continued advancing along the Myingyan–Taungtha border and reached Kinzalote Village, where revolutionary groups launched a counteroffensive on June 27, splitting into three units and using heavy and light weapons, including drones.

In response, the junta deployed two MI-35 helicopters for air support. In retaliation, the retreating junta troops burned down three civilian homes in Kinzalote Village and eventually withdrew to Ngathayauk Police Station in the early morning of June 28.

This joint resistance operation was carried out by Taungtha Township People’s Defense Team, together with Battalion 801 of Naypyidaw, the Meiktila Revolutionary Force, DSNDA People’s Defense Force, and Battalion 3 of Myinchan District.

July 2

The military junta has deliberately destroyed the Paukkaung–Oattwin road, which connects Pyay District and Taungoo District, in Bago Region.

According to Pyay Underground News PUGN, the destruction took place on June 30 and July 1, when the junta forces cut off and dismantled the road—part of the main transportation route in the region.

This act is believed to be part of the junta’s broader strategy to suppress and isolate local populations in Pyay District, where residents have increasingly resisted its authority.

The junta's military forces continue to commit atrocities in the region, including burning civilian homes, arresting and torturing civilians, and extrajudicial killings.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 5. Junta Torches Zayatmyoung Village in Minhla Township for the Second Time

July 2

At around 11 a.m. on July 2, junta troops set fire to Zayatmyoung village—located in Khwetma village tract, Minhla Township, in the western part of Tharyarwaddy District, Bago Region—for the second time, according to local sources.

Thick smoke was seen billowing from the village, indicating a large-scale fire caused by junta soldiers. The attack occurred while the residents had already fled and the village was deserted, local reports confirmed.

Previously, on April 30, junta forces also burned down the eastern part of Zayatmyoung village. This time, they reportedly destroyed the remaining civilian houses.

The Minhla Thadin information group stated that the second wave of destruction follows the deaths of several junta officers, including a deputy battalion commander, in recent clashes.
