๐ฉ๐ฉ 1. Twelve Bombs Dropped by Junta Aircraft on Kyaukhtu and Khanpat Without Any Active Battle
May 10
According to local reports, the military junta forces carried out airstrikes near Kyaukhtu in Magway Region and Khanpat, located in Tamu District of Sagaing Region, despite no active clashes occurring in those areas.
A Y-12 aircraft that took off from Tanttal Airport reportedly conducted bombing runs over Kyaukhtu Township on the morning of May 9, between 6:20 a.m. and 6:30 a.m., dropping a total of 12 bombs in five separate attacks — three bombs in one pass and four bombing runs in total, according to Yaw Lann Tan, a local news outlet.
Due to internet and phone service outages in the area, damage and casualty details from the aerial attack remain unknown, Yaw Lann Tan further stated.
In addition, local media from the Kale Region reported that at around 6:00 p.m. on May 9, a junta jet fighter dropped two bombs near Khanpat in Tamu District.
On May 8, the junta also carried out an aerial strike near Letpanchaung Village in Kale Township, the report added.
While there were no airstrikes in northern Kale Township and southern Tamu Township throughout April, local residents reported that such attacks have resumed in May, carried out by the junta.
The military junta has been conducting air raids on civilian villages in regions where no clashes or military movements are taking place. In response, resistance groups are urging the public to follow air-raid defense protocols and to dig bomb shelters near their homes as a protective measure.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 2. Despite Ceasefire Extension, Junta Launches Renewed Assaults Including Drones and Heavy Artillery on TNLA-Controlled Naungcho Town
May 10
The TNLA (Ta’ang National Liberation Army) reported that despite the ceasefire extension, junta forces launched renewed attacks — including airstrikes, drone strikes, and heavy artillery shelling — on Naungcho Township, which is under TNLA control.
Fighting erupted around Tharyetchaw Village in Naungcho Township after junta forces launched a ground offensive into the area where PSLF/TNLA troops were stationed, starting at 6:00 a.m. on May 9.
According to the TNLA’s Information Department, Junta’s 902nd Artillery Battalion fired five bombs using drones and conducted ten rounds of artillery shelling at around 12:00 noon, directly targeting Tharyetchaw Village.
The same day, at around 3:00 p.m., further clashes occurred, during which junta forces launched eight drone bombs and seven artillery rounds, beginning from shortly after noon.
Additionally, the 902nd Artillery Battalion reportedly carried out a series of attacks during the morning of May 9, targeting Yarpin Village in Naungcho Township with two drone bombs and eleven rounds of chemical gas bombs. Around 1:00 p.m., Ummate Village was hit with nine drone bombs and four chemical gas bombs, while Taung Hla Village was shelled eighteen times and attacked with six chemical gas bombs, according to PSLF/TNLA records.
Although the Three Brotherhood Alliance declared that no offensive operations would be conducted in earthquake-affected areas to allow humanitarian aid activities to proceed, the junta has continued launching attacks since the May 1 announcement extending the ceasefire by another month.
Despite the junta’s May 6 declaration of a one-month ceasefire extension, from May 7 to May 9, it launched consecutive daily attacks on Tharyetchaw, Yarpin, Ummate, and Taung Hla villages in Naungcho Township.
As a result, the TNLA has urged civilians to remain vigilant and to take precautions against junta attacks involving airstrikes, drones, and artillery shelling.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 3. KNU States It Reclaimed Thi Khee Military Base to Ensure the Safety of Local Civilians Along the Myanmar–Thailand Border
May 10
The Karen National Union (KNU) has announced that it had to reclaim control of the Thi Khee military base in the Myeik–Dawei District area to ensure the safety and security of civilians living along the Myanmar–Thailand border.
This statement was included in an official notification issued by the KNU's Myeik–Dawei District, addressed to Thai citizens residing along the border region, regarding the current military situation in the Thi Khee area.
The KNU issued this announcement in three languages—Burmese, English, and Thai.
The Myeik–Dawei District area had been seized by the Myanmar military in 1997, resulting in long-standing armed conflict and displacement of local civilians, according to the KNU.
As such, Brigade 4 of the Karen National Union stated that it was imperative to reclaim the Thi Khee military base in order to provide security assurances to the local civilian population residing along the border.
The statement further asserted that, to escape from the Myanmar military’s violent oppression and to exercise their right to determine their own destiny, the people must respond with military action against the junta. KNU Brigade 4 believes that only decisive military measures against the military council can achieve such goals.
It also emphasized that, considering the potential risks and collateral impacts resulting from escalated armed conflict with the brutal junta forces, the KNU had exerted every possible effort to manage the situation so as to minimize harm to civilians.
The KNU reaffirmed its longstanding position of coexisting peacefully and respectfully with Thai citizens and pledged to continue to live as good and respectful neighbors in the future.
In the statement, the KNU also expressed concern regarding the military junta’s plans—backed by Russia—to build a nuclear power plant with a capacity of 110 megawatts in the central Bago Region and the Dawei Special Economic Zone. The KNU warned that such plans pose serious threats to the safety, security, and well-being of both Myanmar and Thai citizens.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 4. Civilian Man Loses Leg After Stepping on Junta Landmine in Hsipaw Township
May 10
A 31-year-old man from Kun San Laik Village in Hsipaw Township, located in Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) Brigade 2 territory, lost his right leg after stepping on a landmine left behind by the junta forces, according to the PSLF/TNLA Information Department.
The incident occurred around 6:00 PM on May 8, near the site of the former military base of Infantry Battalion 503, where junta troops had previously been stationed.
Following the explosion, the local police force from the Ta’ang region inspected the site and arranged for the injured man to receive medical treatment.
According to the PSLF/TNLA, this is not an isolated incident. On May 7, another man from Kun Zone Village was seriously injured in the right leg after stepping on a leftover junta landmine near the former site of Light Infantry Battalion 23 while out collecting firewood.
Similarly, in April, a man from Ton Sing Village also stepped on a landmine in the same former battalion area and had one of his legs amputated.
These incidents have been documented and reported by the PSLF/TNLA Information Department.
