🚩🚩 1. Images Released of PDF-Yangon Region Special Task Force Unit Undergoing Group Training

On July 6, the People’s Defense Force (PDF) – Yangon Region Command, under its Special Task Force Unit, released photos showcasing its troops engaged in group combat training.

According to Yangon Region Command, the purpose of releasing these images was to inform the public of the ongoing training activities undertaken by the Special Task Force within the region.

It was further noted that troops from the PDF are currently undergoing enhanced tactical training and weapon deployment exercises, as part of a broader effort to improve operational effectiveness.

🚩🚩 2. SAC Jet Fighter Launches Indiscriminate Airstrike Near Ywar Kone Gyi Village, Khin-U Township

The military junta’s air force carried out an unprovoked airstrike using a jet fighter near Ywar Kone Gyi Village in Khin-U Township, Sagaing Region.

On the morning of July 6, the jet fighter flew low over the area and launched an airstrike that resulted in significant civilian damage, including the destruction of:

  • A community-owned oil press mill,
  • Cars and motorcycles, and
  • A large quantity of oil storage containers.

The incident has been confirmed by local resistance network Kani Blu District Activist Group, which reported widespread property loss due to the attack.

In a related incident on the morning of July 5, approximately 30 junta troops from Alel Khone Village in Kanbalu Township advanced to Lwin Gyi Village, where they deliberately set fire to civilian homes, causing further destruction to local communities.

🚩🚩 3. Junta Launches Two Airstrikes Using Cluster Bombs on Zone (29) Golf Course in Thabeikkyin Township

The military junta air force launched two consecutive airstrikes using cluster munitions on the Zone (29) Golf Course in Thabeikkyin Township, according to the Pa-Ka-Fa (PDF) in Pyin Oo Lwin.

The attacks were carried out by a jet fighter from the Meiktila Air Base on July 6, 2025, at 4:26 PM and 4:32 PM, targeting the specified area with cluster bombs.

Although no civilian casualties were reported, residents were urged to stay away from junta-controlled areas and to dig bomb shelters to protect themselves from future aerial attacks.

🚩🚩 4. Two Commanders Awarded “Kawthoolei Gallantry Medal” for Leading the Operation to Recapture Marnaplaw Area

Two military commanders who spearheaded the operation to recapture the Marnaplaw area have been awarded the Kawthoolei Gallantry Medal, according to a statement issued by the Karen National Union (KNU) Central Office on July 7.

The KNU’s old headquarters in Marnaplaw, where a Point-913 strategic military outpost had been occupied by junta forces for over 30 years, was successfully reclaimed through a systematically planned and executed military campaign.

Those honored were:

  • Deputy Major Saw Khin Lay, Commander of the Special Guerrilla Force under the Central Command of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA), and
  • Deputy Major Saw Tin Myint Htoo, Battalion Commander of Battalion 22, Brigade 7.

They received the Kawthoolei Gallantry Medal during the Karen National Armed Forces Day ceremony held on July 5, 2025, in recognition of their leadership in the victorious Marnaplaw campaign.

In addition, frontline KNLA troops who participated bravely and effectively in the assault on junta positions during the operation were also honored with official commendation letters from the KNLA Central Command.

🚩🚩 5. “Let Victory Echo Across Shan Yoma and Karenni” Campaign Calls for Public Support

The public is being urged to support the “Let Victory Echo Across Shan Yoma and Karenni” campaign, which was launched to fulfill urgent military needs.

The campaign is organized by Joint Strategy Command No. 9 of the SSNDF and KNDF, and was created to raise funds to support their ongoing military operations.

“We have officially launched the ‘Let Victory Echo Across Shan Yoma and Karenni’ Campaign to meet the operational needs of SSNDF/KNDF Joint Strategy Unit 9. We are now accepting financial contributions,” the campaign organizers announced.

The campaign aims to raise 100 million MMK (~USD 47,000), to provide for emergency combat needs including:

  • Ammunition and explosives,
  • Jungle boots,
  • Drones,
  • Production equipment,
  • Communication devices,
  • Vehicles, and
  • Medicines and medical supplies.

Currently, Unit 9 of the SSNDF/KNDF is actively engaged in emergency military operations across Karenni and Southern Shan regions.

The campaign began on July 3 and will run for 45 days.

Karenni and Southern Shan are described as strategically vital zones, crucial in shaping the broader anti-junta revolution. The regions are witnessing intense fighting not only against SAC forces but also against PNO militias allied with the junta.
