๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 1. Eleven civilians killed as military drops 500-pound bomb on Mrauk-U

August 26

According to local news outlets, a 500-pound bomb dropped from a junta aircraft on Daing Kyii Ward, a residential area in Mrauk-U town, Rakhine State, killed 11 civilians and injured 21 others.

On the morning of August 25, the terrorist military junta dropped a 500-pound bomb on Daing Kyii Ward in Mrauk-U’s Aung Tat area. The bomb struck near an agricultural warehouse, causing the deaths of 11 civilians and wounding 21, Arakan Princess Media reported.

The fatalities included women, while among the 21 injured were children and women, Laywaddy FM confirmed.

ULA/AA spokesperson U Khine Thukha told Narinjara News that 12 people, including five children, were killed in the attack.

Reports indicated that the bomb hit a house where donations were being organized, injuring 21 people—including three children—and destroying eight homes. The accounts were described as preliminary reports.

Local sources noted that the attack came at a time when displaced residents had only just begun to return, as there had been no recent clashes in the Mrauk-U area.

Although nearly every household in Mrauk-U has dug bomb shelters, the intensity of this strike has left many residents preparing once again to flee displacement.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 2. Junta troops destroy civilian rice, cooking oil, and food supplies in Nwahtoegyi and Myingyan townships, says Zero Guerrilla Force

August 26

The Zero Guerrilla People’s Defense Force (PDF) reported that junta columns rampaging through villages in Nwahtoegyi and Myingyan townships, Mandalay Region, not only burned civilian homes but also deliberately destroyed rice, cooking oil, and food supplies belonging to villagers.

According to the group, junta forces set fire to numerous civilian houses in villages including Yatanso, Manle, Kyaukshe, Thedo, Letwai, Chin Ywar, Kanyashay, and Letthitpukan in Nwahtoegyi Township, as well as Kansintaung North and Balu villages in Myingyan Township.

In addition, the troops dumped villagers’ rice, oil, and food stocks into wells and ponds to make them inedible, scattered supplies on the ground, and poured diesel over them. Elderly people, mothers, and children who could not flee were reportedly burned alive, with their bodies abandoned.

These atrocities were committed between August 10 and August 24, the Zero Guerrilla Force stated.

The group further noted that the junta’s columns in the area are backed by heavy artillery and airstrikes, and daily clashes are taking place between the military, local defense forces, Pa Ka Pha units, and allied forces in Myingyan District.

August 26

The Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) confirmed today, August 26, that a junta airstrike on Mong Ko town, which is under TNLA control in northern Shan State, left one civilian injured and destroyed five houses.

According to the TNLA, the terrorist military dropped two 250-pound bombs on the eastern part of Mong Ko, an area within TNLA Brigade 4 territory. One civilian was injured by bomb shrapnel.

The attack occurred at 10:55 p.m. on August 25, when junta aircraft bombed Sitt Pin Tharyar Ward in Mong Ko despite no ongoing clashes in the area. Five civilian homes were destroyed in the strike.

Local residents reported that the bombs landed within the neighborhood near the Sitt Pin Tharyar–Mintan Bridge area.

Civilians in Mong Ko noted that throughout August, there have been no clashes in the township, and that the junta is deliberately targeting the civilian population with airstrikes.

According to records from the PSLF/TNLA News and Information Department, this marks the sixth aerial bombardment in Mong Ko this month. The junta previously carried out five separate bombings in August—on the 2nd, 10th, 14th, 17th, and 18th—dropping a total of 11 bombs.

As a result of these strikes in August alone, 41 civilians have been killed: 2 monks, 4 children, 18 men, and 17 women. In addition, 24 others were injured: 1 monk, 19 men, and 4 women. The bombings also destroyed 33 civilian homes, 6 monasteries, 3 vehicles, and 3 motorcycles.

The PSLF/TNLA urged the public to remain vigilant, avoid junta air raids where possible, and follow protective measures against aerial attacks in order to minimize civilian casualties.
