๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 1. The Thai Parliament's Labor Affairs Committee and the Bright Future Group of Spring Revolution Activists Meeting

On December 19, Radio NUG reported that during a meeting between the Thai Parliament's Labor Affairs Committee and the Bright Future group of Spring Revolution activists, the activists urged collaboration and coordination with the National Unity Government (NUG). The news was released by the Thai Parliament's news outlet.

At 2:00 PM on December 19, Deputy Chairman of the Thai Parliament's Labor Affairs Committee, Sia Jampathong, committee members, and representatives of the Bright Future group led by Suraj Giri, convened a hearing regarding the new labor visa policy initiated by the current Thai government.

During the discussions, gratitude was expressed towards the Thai government for its December 16 decision to grant legal residence and work permits to Myanmar nationals who are residing illegally in Thailand. The new visa scheme was designed to provide these migrants with lawful residency and employment opportunities.

Participants in the meeting suggested that the Thai government should issue a unique identification card, known as the "Pink Card," exclusively for migrant workers, eliminating the need for additional documentation such as Certificates of Identity (CI) previously issued by Myanmar's military-controlled immigration department.

Additionally, the activists emphasized that collaborating with the National Unity Government (NUG) would be an effective and practical approach to addressing issues related to both Myanmar migrant workers in Thailand and those displaced due to political turmoil following the military coup in Myanmar. A leader from the Bright Future group expressed this viewpoint during the meeting.

The meeting was attended by representatives from the Bright Future group, the Chairman of the Thai Parliament's Labor Affairs Committee, committee members, and other parliamentary representatives.

Among those apprehended were individuals who, during the previous regime under the military council's control, were reportedly permitted to use and trade narcotics in exchange for providing intelligence to allied factions.

Radio NUG

On the morning of December 17, a young doctor in his 30s living in Mandalay was kidnapped while traveling from his home to the hospital. The perpetrators abducted him using a minivan and demanded a ransom of 30 million kyats, which was paid. However, on the morning of December 19, around 4:00 AM, his lifeless body was discovered abandoned near the Mandalay-Kandawgyi Ring Road.

The deceased doctor was identified as an obstetrician-gynecologist (OG) working at a well-known private hospital in Mandalay's Chan Aye Tharzan Township.

Since the military coup, Mandalay has been plagued by lawlessness under the control of military-affiliated groups and Pyu Saw Htee militia. These groups have been engaging in activities such as kidnapping young individuals for ransom, forced conscription of new soldiers, and other crimes. In recent months, military-backed death squads have been targeting and abducting coup opponents, subjecting them to extrajudicial killings.
