January 23
The National Unity Government (NUG) has begun a trial broadcast of its messaging program, directed at both the Myanmar public and the international community, in four languages: Chinese, Japanese, Thai, and Hindi. The program, which is conducted biweekly, initially began in early January 2025 with broadcasts in Japanese and Chinese during its first session (1/2025). In the second session (2/2025), held on January 21, 2025, Thai and Hindi were added, as announced by NUG.
This initiative reflects a strategic focus on the languages of Myanmar's neighboring countries and those with significant influence on Myanmar’s political landscape. The trial broadcasts are being produced in collaboration with PVTV and Team New Myanmar-Japan, using a combination of human resources and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies. PVTV has appealed for constructive feedback to address any shortcomings in the program.
The broadcasts include audio in the four target languages, supplemented by English subtitles. Key updates on Myanmar's military and political situation are delivered by U Kyaw Zaw, the spokesperson for the Office of the President, and U Nay Phone Latt, the spokesperson for the Office of the Prime Minister, through PVTV and its YouTube channel.
