U.S. Representative Jefferson Shreve met with Union Minister Dr. Sasa on February 10, according to an announcement made by the Union Minister.
“It was an honor to meet Congressman Jefferson Shreve, the latest member of the US Congressional Burma Caucus, at Capitol Hill. We are particularly grateful for his commitment to the future of a federal democratic Myanmar. Discussions were held on strategic support from the U.S. in alignment with its core principles of security, stability, and peace to create a roadmap for a peaceful and prosperous federal democracy in Myanmar,” said the Minister.
The Union Minister expressed anticipation for further discussions in future meetings on strategies to support Myanmar’s roadmap toward a peaceful and prosperous federal democracy.

๐๐ 2. Union Minister Naw Susanna Hla Hla Soe and Advisor Daw Shwe Shwe Sein Latt Meet Myanmar Nationals in Japan

Union Minister Naw Susanna Hla Hla Soe, along with Ministerial Advisor Daw Shwe Shwe Sein Latt, met with Myanmar nationals living in Japan on February 9 in Tokyo.
During the meeting, the Union Minister and the Advisor explained the activities of the Ministry of Women, Youth, and Children Affairs under the National Unity Government (NUG). They also addressed questions from the audience.
Furthermore, a donation of 30,000 Japanese Yen was made to the Ministry (MOWYCA) for displaced mothers and children affected by the oppression of the military junta in Myanmar. The donation was made with compassion by the Federation of Workers Union of Burmese Citizens in Japan (FWUBC), according to the Ministry’s statement released on February 10.
The Ministry expressed its deep gratitude to FWUBC for the generous donation and emphasized that the funds would support displaced mothers and children across Myanmar facing hardships due to the junta’s oppressive rule. The Union Minister personally accepted the donation, and MOWYCA extended best wishes for the continued well-being and success of FWUBC members.

๐๐ 3. Sagaing Federal Union Parliament Holds Discussion with Spring Development Bank

Representatives from the Sagaing Federal Union Parliament and the Spring Development Bank held a meeting via Zoom on February 8, 2025, at 10:00 AM.
During the meeting, officials from the Spring Development Bank were in attendance alongside the Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, and other parliamentary representatives of the Sagaing Federal Union Parliament. The Chairperson of the Parliament delivered an opening address, followed by a presentation on the bank’s services by a representative of the Spring Development Bank.
Subsequently, the parliamentary representatives engaged in an open discussion, sharing their perspectives on the bank’s operations. The meeting concluded successfully.

๐๐ 5. Over 19.9 Million People, Including 6.4 Million Children, in Urgent Need of Assistance: UNICEF Myanmar

On February 10, UNICEF Myanmar announced that more than 19.9 million people, including 6.4 million children, are in urgent need of assistance.
“The year 2025 is a critical year for Myanmar’s children. Due to the urgent and ongoing crises, immediate and sustained efforts are crucial to support these 19.9 million people,” the statement read.
Additionally, nearly 5 million children in Myanmar are currently unable to access education, and over 500,000 children are facing severe malnutrition, according to UNICEF.
