February 22

More than 1,500 students from rural schools in Launglon Township received health awareness education and deworming medicine as part of a public health initiative.

According to the Daungta Tanintharyi - IDPs Support Group, health awareness sessions and deworming treatments were conducted in 10 rural schools across Launglon Township. The program included education on dengue fever and malaria prevention, as well as personal hygiene guidelines, in collaboration with local residents.

Many rural villages in Dawei District face significant healthcare challenges due to restrictions imposed by military council troops on the transportation of medicine, instability in the region, and displacement caused by ongoing conflict. These factors have led to a lack of access to adequate healthcare and declining public health awareness, exacerbating difficulties for local communities.
