๐๐ 1. NUG Welcomes Canada’s New Sanctions Against SAC
On March 7, 2025, the Government of Canada announced sanctions against 13 senior officials of the SAC and three organizations that support human rights violations and destabilize Myanmar’s peace, security, and stability.
The National Unity Government (NUG) welcomed Canada's announcement regarding the new sanctions on the SAC and urged the international community to suspend all military and financial support to the SAC, including arms transfers, equipment, dual-use goods, and technical assistance, according to the NUG Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to Canada's March 7 statement, those sanctioned include SAC member U Banyar Aung Moe; Union Ministers Dr. Kan Zaw, U Ko Ko Hlaing, U Aung Kyaw Hoe, General Moe Aung, and Khun Thet Zaw Htoo; Deputy Ministers Major General Lu Mon, U Aung Kyaw Htun, U Aung Myint, Brigadier General Ko Lay, Daw Than Than Lin, U Min Htut, and U Htin Kyaw Thu. Additionally, sanctions were imposed on the Ministry of Defense, the Myanmar military, and the No. 33 Light Infantry Division.

๐๐ 2. Union Minister Daw Zin Mar Aung Presents Ministry’s Work Progress at CRPH Coordination Meeting
The Committee Representing the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) held its regular coordination meeting (9/2025) on March 7, 2025, via video conference. CRPH Chairman U Aung Kyi Nyunt delivered the opening remarks, followed by a presentation by Union Minister of Foreign Affairs Daw Zin Mar Aung, who detailed the ministry’s completed and upcoming activities.
The discussions included global political developments following the U.S. elections, Myanmar’s foreign policy implementation through Joint Task Forces, and efforts to increase international engagement in Myanmar’s affairs. Attendees also discussed meetings with international stakeholders and continued cooperation between the ministry and the legislative sector.
Participants raised questions on Myanmar’s relations with neighboring countries, issues concerning migrant workers, and other topics of interest. Subsequently, representatives of various parliamentary committees presented their reports.
The meeting was attended by CRPH leadership, members of 11 parliamentary committees, representatives from the National Unity Government (NUG), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and other relevant officials.

๐๐ 3. Evidence Presented at Human Rights Conference on SAC’s Airstrikes and Forced Conscription
At the United Nations Human Rights Conference, extensive evidence was presented on the impacts of the SAC’s airstrikes and the effects of its forced conscription law, according to NUG Minister of Human Rights U Aung Myo Min.
"The speech delivered at the 58th session of the UN Human Rights Council by the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights accurately reflected Myanmar’s current situation. The crimes committed by the military junta are so severe that ordinary people may struggle to comprehend their gravity. During this session, I presented extensive evidence on the escalating airstrikes carried out by the terrorist junta and the widespread human rights violations resulting from the forced conscription law, which affects young people and others," U Aung Myo Min stated.
Beyond discussions at the Human Rights Council, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights urged all nations to exert pressure to cut off all support to the SAC, particularly arms, ammunition, aviation fuel, and military-related technology transfers.

๐๐ 5. Proceeds from "Paper Airplane" Film Screening in Mae Sot to Support Conflict-Displaced Communities in Myanmar
The film "Paper Airplane" will be screened in Mae Sot, Thailand, on March 16, 2025 (Sunday) at 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM.
Tickets are priced at 200 baht each and can be purchased online. All proceeds from the film will be donated to support communities displaced by conflict in Myanmar.
