๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 2. Twelve Junta Soldiers Killed and Weapons Seized in Moebye Battle

March 5

The Moebye People’s Defense Force (Moebye PDF) announced on the night of March 4 that a battle in Moebye had resulted in the deaths of twelve junta soldiers, with some weapons and ammunition seized.

The junta is conducting large-scale offensives to regain control of the Moebye-Loikaw road section, deploying heavy artillery, airstrikes, and drone attacks, leading to near-daily intense battles.

The junta has also been attacking civilian areas, including those with displaced persons, using heavy artillery and airstrikes, resulting in civilian casualties.

A major battle took place on February 27 between the junta forces and revolutionary forces, including the 1001 Moebye PDF and allied resistance groups. During this battle, twelve junta soldiers were killed, and weapons and ammunition were seized. However, the 1001 Moebye PDF’s Battalion 3 Kywe Cho unit also lost a comrade, Kyaw Naing, who sacrificed his life for the cause, according to the statement.

Currently, revolutionary forces continue to hold control over Moebye town. However, as the battle persists, military needs are increasing, and Moebye PDF has urged both domestic and international supporters to assist in any way possible.

Moebye is a strategically significant town at the gateway between Shan State and Karenni State. The junta, aiming to regain control of the town, has reinforced its troops at the 422nd Light Infantry Battalion, located just over two miles from Moebye. This has led to frequent and intense battles in the area.

March 5

The Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and allied forces, after three months of battle to capture Banmauk, have successfully seized multiple junta bases and battalions, paving the way for a final offensive to fully take control of the town, according to a statement from the KIA.

The Banmauk offensive began on December 4, and as of March 4, three months have passed. The KIA Information Department announced that they have overrun several critical junta bases in Banmauk Township.

Key military installations under junta control have been seized, and currently, KIA and allied forces are fiercely fighting to capture the Regional Operation Command HQ No. 21, which oversees the entire area, according to the report.

The KIA and allied forces have already taken control of key military positions, including Infantry Battalion 236, Armored Battalion 366, Steel Shield Battalion 7006, Tank Battalion 5014, Banmauk Airfield, and Engineering Battalion No. 2. However, junta headquarters such as Regional Operation Command 21 and Infantry Battalion 47 remain under junta control and are the focus of ongoing offensives.
