๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 1. NUG Calls on Neighboring Countries and the International Community to Join in School Safety Efforts in Myanmar

June 10

The National Unity Government (NUG) has called on neighboring countries and the international community to actively collaborate in initiatives aimed at ensuring the safety of schools in Myanmar.

The appeal was made by U Nay Phone Latt, spokesperson for the Prime Minister’s Office, during the NUG’s press briefing program titled “Addressing the People and the International Community.”

“The National Unity Government is currently implementing safety measures to ensure that children in Myanmar can pursue their education in a secure and safe environment, free from life-threatening danger. We urge neighboring countries, the international community, and child-focused organizations to support and cooperate in these efforts,” he said.

“To protect the right of Myanmar’s children to freely access education, there is an urgent need for modern early warning systems for airstrikes and the construction of bomb-resistant shelters,” he emphasized.

On May 12, the SAC’s air force carried out a bombing raid on Oatainkwin village school in Dipeyin Township, killing 24 individuals including children and teachers, and injuring over 100 others.

๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 2. NLD Issues a Message of Loving Appeal to All Myanmar Citizens to Commemorate Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s 80th Birthday

June 10

To mark Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s 80th birthday, the National League for Democracy (NLD) has released a heartfelt message urging all Myanmar nationals to join in commemorative efforts.

The statement recalls that Daw Aung San Suu Kyi has dedicated herself to the cause of establishing a federal union in Myanmar that guarantees full democracy and human rights. For her political commitment, she endured repeated unlawful detentions under successive military dictatorships—spending 15 years and 4 months under house arrest from July 20, 1989 to November 13, 2010. She also survived multiple assassination attempts, including the infamous Depayin incident.

The statement condemns military strongman Min Aung Hlaing, describing him as a violent authoritarian who unlawfully seized power in pursuit of self-interest and continues to unjustly detain Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, the rightful leader of the election-winning party. As of today, she has been held in unlawful detention for exactly 1,590 days.

As her unjust imprisonment is deemed one of the most crucial issues for the country’s future, the NLD respectfully urges all those who love and revere Daw Aung San Suu Kyi to participate in two commemorative actions:

  1. On June 19, 2025, at exactly 8:00 a.m., on the occasion of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s 80th birthday, citizens are encouraged to observe eight minutes of silent prayer and send loving-kindness messages for her release—and for the release of all political prisoners—according to their respective religious or spiritual traditions, from their homes or wherever they may be.
  2. Everyone, including NLD members, supporters, and Myanmar nationals both inside and outside the country, is invited to take part in the “Happy Birthday SUU” Video Challenge, led by her son Mr. Kim (a.k.a. U Htein Lin), by recording birthday wishes for Daw Aung San Suu Kyi.

๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 3. “It Is Crucial Not to Forget the Crimes Committed by Min Aung Hlaing’s Terrorist Military,” Says Deputy Minister Ei Thinzar Maung

June 10

Daw Ei Thinzar Maung, Deputy Minister of Women, Youth and Children’s Affairs, has stressed on social media the importance of remembering the atrocities committed by the terrorist military regime led by Min Aung Hlaing.

“This video highlights some of the indiscriminate massacres conducted by airstrikes on civilian targets—not military ones—by Min Aung Hlaing’s terrorist armed forces. From the start of the military coup in February 2021 to the end of May 2025, at least 1,162 children have been killed. It is crucial for the public not to forget these atrocities,” she wrote.

She added that the military continues to launch daily airstrikes across regions including Sagaing, Magway, Kachin State, Karen State, Shan State, and the Karenni region, causing relentless devastation and civilian casualties.
