In a message sent to the First Ground-Level Conference of Strike Forces in Sagaing Region, Acting President Duwa Lashi La called for politically coordinated actions across all sectors—including the armed resistance and public strike movements—in order to decisively bring about the ultimate victory of the revolution.

The Acting President stated:

“To bring a complete end to military dictatorship and all forms of authoritarian rule, and to realize the people’s collective aspiration for justice, freedom, and national equality through a federal democratic system, I urge all sectors—including the armed resistance and public strike movements—to act in political unison.”

“Even today, during the Spring Revolution, the public strike movements remain a crucial component,” the Acting President affirmed.

๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 2. Prime Minister Warns: “While the Revolution Gains Strength, Caution Is Still Critically Needed”

June 6

At the 19th meeting (19/2025) of the Central Committee for Interim Public Administration under the National Unity Government (NUG), Prime Minister Mann Win Khaing Than issued a strong reminder about the current revolutionary situation.

He remarked:

“Although the revolution has gained momentum and shown signs of strength, there remain numerous issues that must be handled with extreme caution. Ground-level personnel serving within the administrative mechanism of the NUG must remain vigilant. While some areas are now fully free from the terrorist military junta’s presence, many zones remain under ‘mixed control,’ where risks to life and safety persist at all times.”

He continued:

“Each revolutionary fighter is invaluable. Therefore, I urge all responsible departments to instruct our members to consistently safeguard their own security and health.”

Furthermore, the Prime Minister highlighted three key priorities:

  • Institutional Strengthening: Building robust institutions is essential.
  • Capacity Building: Civil servants must operate at their full potential.
  • Sound Political Policies: Implementing appropriate political strategies as situations evolve is of critical importance.

๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 3. Committee Representing the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) Issues Statement on the 51st Anniversary of Labor Strike Movement Day

June 6

The Committee Representing the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) commemorated June 6, the day in 1947 when military forces brutally killed workers in front of the historic Yarn Mill in Yangon, as a significant and unforgettable date in the history of Myanmar’s labor movement.

In honor of the heroic workers who bravely stood up and demanded their rights, June 6 has been designated Labor Strike Movement Day, now marking its 51st anniversary.

The statement recalls:

“The nationwide labor revolution, which began on June 6, 1947, was led by courageous workers who fought relentlessly under the oppressive military regimes. Their spirit of defiance, born from that labor revolution, continues to inspire generations in the ongoing struggle for total liberation from military dictatorship.”

The CRPH went on to encourage:

“We solemnly urge all workers and the broader public to carry forward this revolutionary spirit in the pursuit of complete freedom from the brutal military dictatorship.”

The statement concludes with a pledge:

“To protect the labor rights currently under massive assault, and to ensure workers receive rights in line with international standards, the Parliament will continue to fulfill its legislative role. The CRPH, as the legitimate representative body, pledges to stand resolutely with the labor movement both inside and outside the country and will persistently work for the benefit of the labor force. We hereby issue this statement marking the 51st Anniversary of Labor Strike Movement Day.”

๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 4. CRPH States It Will Stand Firmly With Myanmar Workers Both Domestically and Abroad, and Continue Efforts to Uphold Their Interests

June 6

The Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) has announced its firm commitment to stand with Myanmar workers both at home and abroad and to continue working for the protection and promotion of workers’ rights and interests.

This statement was made as part of CRPH’s message commemorating the 51st Anniversary of the Workers’ Strike Movement.

CRPH recalled that June 6, 1947—when military forces brutally massacred workers and civilians in front of the historic Yangon Textile Factory—marks an indelible day in Myanmar’s labor movement history.

To honor the courageous workers who boldly demanded their rights and freedoms, June 6 has since been designated as Workers’ Strike Movement Day and has been commemorated annually as a day of remembrance and tribute. This year marks the 51st anniversary of that observance.

CRPH urged the public and workers to carry forward the spirit born from the nationwide labor uprising that began on June 6, 1947, and to remain relentless in their pursuit of liberation from the military dictatorship.

Since the unlawful military coup on February 1, 2021, led by terrorist junta leader Min Aung Hlaing, job opportunities have severely diminished and commodity prices have skyrocketed, driving large numbers of youth to leave the country in search of work abroad. Additionally, the junta has imposed the People’s Military Service Law, forcibly conscripting youth into military service. This has caused many young people to flee to foreign countries, where they now face serious difficulties securing employment due to their refugee status.

CRPH emphasized that workers are the lifeblood of the nation and play a vital role in the struggle to end military dictatorship and establish a Federal Democratic Union. Therefore, CRPH called on workers both inside Myanmar and overseas to continue actively participating in the nation-building process to ensure the full realization of their rights and freedoms in a future federal democratic system.

๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 6. Civil Society Urges Action to Prevent Military Junta From Exploiting Disaster Relief as a Tool of War

June 6

Civil society organizations have urged the public and international community to take action to prevent the terrorist military junta from continuing to exploit humanitarian disaster relief supplies as tools of war for political and military gain.

This appeal stems from a public campaign titled “Stop Weaponization of Aid (Stop WoA),” which calls for an end to the military's misuse of humanitarian assistance as a weapon.

The campaign highlights the junta’s exploitation of international humanitarian aid intended for earthquake victims—repurposing these supplies for political and military advantage.

The Stop WoA movement calls for:

  • Immediate cessation of the military’s misuse of humanitarian aid as weapons.
  • Direct delivery of aid to earthquake-affected civilians.
  • Mobilizing and lobbying international governments, ASEAN, UN agencies, and INGOs to take concrete actions to halt the military’s exploitation of aid and prevent such abuses in the future.

It has been announced that this campaign will be jointly undertaken throughout the first and final weeks of June by the public, revolutionary forces, and civil society organizations both inside Myanmar and abroad.

The Stop WoA campaign follows a legacy of previous natural disasters—Cyclone Nargis (2008)Cyclone Mocha (2023), and the recent Rakhine earthquake (2024)—during which the military consistently abused humanitarian aid for its own ends.

๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 8. Despite Objections from Russia, Belarus, Laos, and China, the ILO’s Decision to Take Action Against the Military Junta Under Article 33 Welcomed as a Victory for the People by NUG

June 6

Despite opposition from nations including Russia, Belarus, Laos, and China, which support authoritarianism and global domination through violent regimes, the International Labour Organization (ILO) has officially decided to take action against the military junta under Article 33. This decision was welcomed by the Ministry of Labour of the National Unity Government (NUG) as a victory for the people of Myanmar.

The decision was made during the 113th International Labour Conference held in Geneva, Switzerland. The ILO acted in response to the junta’s repeated violations of fundamental labour rights and human rights, especially breaches of:

  • Convention No. 87 (Freedom of Association and Protection of the Right to Organize), and
  • Convention No. 29 (Forced Labour).

The NUG Ministry of Labour expressed strong support for the ILO’s move, describing it as a response to the junta’s blatant and sustained disregard for these core principles.

According to the ministry, this ILO resolution represents a hard-earned victory for the people of Myanmar, who have endured years of struggle, including military gunfire, various forms of repression, sexual violence against women, airstrikes on civilian populations, and the bombing of schoolchildren. The ministry emphasized that this decision marks international recognition of the people’s resilience and pursuit of justice.

U Maung Maung, from the Myanmar Labour Alliance (MLA) / Confederation of Trade Unions Myanmar (CTUM) and a representative of the NUG’s Tripartite Delegation, addressed the opening of the conference and called for decisive international action under Article 33 to hold the military regime accountable.

Daw Phyo Sandar Soe, another representative from the NUG’s Tripartite Delegation and Deputy Representative of the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC), stated that action under Article 33 is not about retaliation, but rather about restoring dignity, justice, and rebuilding lives for the people of Myanmar.

The ILO conference was attended by delegates representing the people of Myanmar under the leadership of the NUG’s Ministry of Labour, along with representatives from governments, employers, and workers. The adoption of such a historic resolution signals that the international community and the ILO have not turned a blind eye to the plight of the Myanmar people, the NUG Ministry of Labour stated in its official release.

This development serves not only to expose the junta’s violent atrocities on a global stage but also demonstrates that ILO member states—through their government, employer, and worker delegates—as well as global labour organizations and leaders, are standing in solidarity with the people of Myanmar.
