๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 1. Dagon University Students’ Union Awards Student Martyr Title to Wut Yi Aung, Who Died in Prison

July 26

Dagon University Students’ Union (DUSU) announced today, July 26, that it has conferred the title of Student Martyr on former Central Executive Committee member Ma Wut Yi Aung, who died while imprisoned in Insein Prison after being unjustly detained by the violent military junta.

Ma Wut Yi Aung, aged 25, who once served as a central executive member of DUSU, suffered head injuries as a result of torture and abuse inflicted by the junta’s military intelligence operations. She passed away in prison due to inadequate medical treatment, according to the statement released by DUSU.

DUSU added that she died in honor and dignity on July 19, 2025, inside Insein Prison from complications caused by the head injuries sustained during her arrest and interrogation, while fighting for public liberation and the rebuilding of a new federal democratic nation.

Ma Wut Yi Aung had served as DUSU’s Joint Secretary since 2020, actively participating in community support initiatives during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Following the military coup, she held aloft the motherly Khwet Daung flag and rose from the ranks to actively resist the dictatorship. From the moment of her arrest to the moment of her death, she persistently fought against the violent junta’s forces and all forms of authoritarian mechanisms in a multitude of ways.

DUSU expressed that her revolutionary convictions would be forever remembered and honored by the students of Dagon University, the broader student body, and the people.

“In recognition of her sacrifice for the revolution, and with the intent of setting an example for future generations of students, we, the Dagon University Students’ Union, have conferred the Student Martyr title upon Ma Wut Yi Aung,” the official statement reads.

DUSU also stated that after the Emergency Period is lifted—in other words, once the Spring Revolution achieves victory—the Student Martyr title will be formally conferred in a ceremony held in front of surviving family members, students, teachers, and the public. The title will also be preserved in the university’s and the student union’s official archives for posterity.

๐Ÿ“Œ๐Ÿ“Œ 2. ABSDF and SF/SAF Hold Coordination Meeting to Unite Student and Revolutionary Forces Nationwide

In an effort to foster unified and coordinated action among revolutionary forces across the country—including the various student organizations—a ground-level meeting was recently held between the All Burma Students’ Democratic Front (ABSDF) Central Military Commission and the Student Force / Student Armed Force (SF/SAF), according to a joint statement released today, July 26.

The joint statement, issued by the ABSDF Central Military Commission and the SF/SAF Central Leading Committee, detailed that preliminary coordination was first carried out online on May 27 between representatives of the two organizations. This was followed by an in-person meeting on July 24, during which the Vice Chairpersons of both ABSDF’s Central Military Commission and SF/SAF’s Central Committee convened for direct discussions.

The purpose of this engagement, according to the statement, was to facilitate unity and collaboration among revolutionary forces—including student organizations—spread across the country, and to explore ways of bringing together dispersed ground-based armed resistance groups, including student revolutionary forces.

Additionally, the two groups discussed the formation of alliances, practical cooperation in on-the-ground military operations, and the development of strategic frameworks for joint action in an open and transparent manner.

It was also noted that on July 16, representatives of the ABSDF met with delegates from the Upper Myanmar Strategic Group, where they similarly discussed ways to consolidate the various fragmented local armed revolutionary forces operating in the field.
