According to the CRPH, during its regular coordination meeting (32/2025) held via video conference on August 22, the Ministry of Health of the National Unity Government (NUG) presented its ongoing health operations and future plans.
The meeting was opened with remarks by U Aung Kyi Nyunt, Chair of the CRPH.
Deputy Minister of Health, Dr. Shwe Pone, reported on the ministry’s activities, stating that during the revolution, healthcare for revolutionary fighters and the public has been provided through emergency medical care, primary healthcare, and public health programs. At present, there are 106 hospitals, 808 clinics, and more than 250 mobile clinics in operation. Compared with 2021, the number of field hospitals and clinics has increased more than 35 times.
He further explained that maternal and child health services, the national immunization program, school health education programs, nutrition development initiatives, communicable disease prevention programs, disaster response operations, rehabilitation and prosthetic limb provision are all systematically carried out by health officials from states and regions as well as township health officers who are part of the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM).

Through the CDM Medical Network, the ministry has provided financial assistance amounting to MMK 74,790,000 to CDM healthcare workers and their families over four years. In the same period, MMK 216.45 million was spent on the transportation of medicines and medical supplies to the ground.
In 2024 alone, healthcare facilities faced 1,582 airstrikes by the terrorist junta, with 352 health buildings damaged or destroyed, and 135 healthcare workers killed. The ministry also outlined difficulties in health-related coordination, financial constraints, and its future plans.

๐๐ 3. AA rejects junta’s drug trafficking allegations as politically motivated propaganda
August 23, Radio NUG
U Khine Thu Kha, spokesperson of the Arakan Army (AA), dismissed the junta’s claim that AA officers were involved in cross-border drug trafficking as fabricated propaganda and a politically motivated smear.
The junta had announced the seizure of narcotics worth over MMK 257 billion in Yangon Region, alleging that the operation was masterminded by a major from the Shan State Progress Party (SSPP) named Sai Su, and that a customs officer at the rank of major from the AA, named Ko Yae, was involved.
“This is nothing but the usual false accusations and low-grade propaganda attacks by the terrorist junta,” U Khine Thu Kha said. “As everyone knows, in Myanmar, narcotics, gambling, Kyarpyaint (online scam syndicates), and human trafficking are all industries controlled and operated by the fascist military criminal gang led by Min Aung Hlaing. For example, the recent incident in Bago Region, where junta officers were caught red-handed with a huge quantity of narcotics in a turf war among themselves, proves their involvement.”
He further stated that the United League of Arakan/Arakan Army (ULA/AA) strongly opposes all narcotics that endanger society and is ready to cooperate with any government or international organization for effective anti-narcotics efforts.
It is also common practice for the junta’s Drug Enforcement Division (Anti-Narcotics Police) to claim that behind every cross-border drug bust, officers from ethnic revolutionary organizations are involved.

๐๐ 4. The claim that AA killed over 600 villagers in Tanlyaukkan is fabricated propaganda, say Islamic leaders of Maungdaw District
August 23, Radio NUG
Islamic leaders of Maungdaw District have issued a statement saying that the allegation claiming the Arakan Army (AA) massacred more than 600 Muslim villagers in Tanlyaukkan village, Buthidaung Township, is false and fabricated propaganda.
They explained that on May 2–3, 2024, intense fighting broke out in Tanlyaukkan village between junta troops and the AA, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of junta soldiers.
Later, junta forces alleged that the remaining skeletons belonged to over 600 villagers supposedly executed by AA. The Islamic leaders stated clearly that such accusations and written reports are baseless, deceitful fabrications.
According to the junta’s own 2023 census, Tanlyaukkan village had 114 households with a total population of 933 people. Based on the most recent count, there are 790 current residents and 138 people who have migrated abroad, making a total of 928 people.
Therefore, the claim that more than 600 villagers were massacred is completely unreasonable and false, they said.
They further emphasized that such fabricated propaganda is designed to damage intercommunal harmony between the Rakhine and Muslim communities living together in the region, fueling hatred, misunderstandings, and distrust for political purposes.
The statement strongly condemned these acts of disinformation, which they said are being spread by self-serving exiled politicians, biased media outlets, and the junta itself.
The declaration was signed by a total of 160 people, including Islamic religious leaders of Maungdaw District, community and social organization leaders, business owners, elders, activists, and youth leaders.
