📌📌 1. New Curriculum Program for CDM Law Students Announced by Myanmar’s Spring University

September 2

Myanmar’s Spring University announced today, September 2, that a New Curriculum Program has been prepared for CDM (Civil Disobedience Movement) law students who are still pursuing their studies.

The university described this as good news for law students, officially releasing the program under the title “Three-Year LL.B Degree Program.”

According to the Law Department of Myanmar’s Spring University, the new curriculum was designed for law students who had been attending classes prior to February 2021, before the military coup.

The program is structured so that all CDM law students will be able to obtain an LL.B degree within three years through a new three-year course system.

Students who had previously studied under the five-year curriculum will also be able to transition into the new system. To ensure they are not disadvantaged, bridging courses and detailed class-by-class arrangements will be announced soon, according to the Law Department.

The program is open to all law students who had attended classes (from the first year up to the fifth year) prior to February 2021 but were unable to complete their studies, as well as students currently enrolled in courses at MNOU (Myanmar National Open University) and those in distance-learning programs. The Law Department confirmed that all such students are eligible to join and pursue their legal studies under this new program.

September 2

The Ministry of Human Rights under the National Unity Government (NUG) stated that in August, it was able to conduct human rights awareness talks and training sessions in Thaylin and Salin Townships.

The Ministry explained that these initiatives are part of ongoing efforts to increase public awareness of human rights across various townships through talks and basic human rights training.

In early August, a talk on human rights was held in a village within Thaylin Township, attended by 111 local residents. The session was jointly delivered by township-level human rights officers and village-level Pa Ah Pha (administrative) officials.

The topics covered included the history of human rights, fundamental human rights principles, relevant articles from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), as well as practical guidelines on safety measures during airstrikes.

After the talk, villagers expressed that they gained a deeper understanding of human rights, while women in particular opened up about their experiences of gender-based violence and the importance of human compassion.

On August 21, another training was conducted in a village within NUG-administered territory in Salin Township, with 95 participants including members of the Education Board, volunteers, and local administrators.

In this training, participants were taught fundamental human rights topics and the Code of Conduct for Soldiers. As a result, attendees reported that they had gained knowledge about human rights, freedom of expression, and the right to file complaints against human rights violations, according to the Ministry of Human Rights.

📌📌 3. Ko Htein Lin: With Steadfast Determination, Myanmar Can Be Freed from Military Dictatorship and Become Peaceful Again

September 2

Ko Htein Lin, the son of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, said that if people persevere with unwavering determination and collective effort, Myanmar will one day be free from military dictatorship and restored as a peaceful nation.

Speaking from Lithuania during the “Shared Journey of Resistance” campaign, he reflected while standing in front of the UNESCO headquarters:

“It struck me how much the world values capability, freedom, and cultural heritage. Lithuania’s history is a warning for Myanmar. They struggled for 51 years to break free from Russian domination. No matter how difficult it was, they never lost hope. This stands as an inspiration for the people of Myanmar who are fighting today.

No matter how long oppression lasts, if the people rise together, they will achieve freedom. If we remain steadfast and determined, Myanmar too will one day be liberated from this brutal dictatorship and become a peaceful nation again.”

Currently, Ko Htein Lin is actively supporting displaced communities and those in need across Myanmar.

📌📌 4. 90% of Proceeds from Actor Daung’s Melbourne Concert to Be Donated to NUG’s Most Financially Needy Ministry

September 2

It has been learned that 90% of the proceeds from actor Daung’s upcoming concert in Melbourne will be donated to one of the National Unity Government (NUG)’s ministries most in need of financial support.

“This is the very first music concert in the life of our Spring Revolution’s star ‘Daung.’ He chose Australia for his debut, and among all cities, he selected Melbourne as his first. For Daung, the revolution is always the first priority. His second priority is meeting the families abroad who have been steadfastly supporting the revolution.

From his concerts, 90% of all ticket sales, merchandise sales, food sales, and auctioned items (after deducting expenses) will be donated to one of the NUG’s most financially needy ministries. The remaining 10% will be donated to NUG’s Public Relations and Communications Unit, because resources for the information and media battle are also critically needed,” said Dr. Tun Aung Shwe, NUG’s representative in Australia.

Alongside the concert, there are also plans to screen some of Daung’s films so he can connect more closely with revolutionary audiences. In addition, since Daung is also a professional footballer, he has arranged to play football and bond with local families during his visit.
