🚩🚩 1. Terrorist Junta Using Fighter Jets, Y-12 Aircraft, Paramotors, and Gyrocopters to Launch Airstrikes Against Civilians Day and Night — MDSI Report
October 6
The Myanmar Defence and Security Institute (MDSI) has revealed that the terrorist military junta is carrying out relentless airstrikes on civilians both day and night using various types of aircraft, including fighter jets, Y-12 transport planes, paramotors, and gyrocopters.
This statement was made in MDSI’s analytical report on airstrikes conducted during the month of September.
According to media reports and data compiled from relevant organizations, junta airstrikes in September killed 137 civilians—including children and students—and injured 187 others.
The report indicates that the junta primarily targeted Matayar, Thabeikkyin, and Singu townships in Mandalay Region; Ka Ni, Wetlet, Taze, and Pale townships in Sagaing Region; Pauk, Mying, Pakokku, and Natmauk townships in Magway Region; Kyaukme and Hsipaw townships in Northern Shan State; Waingmaw, Shwegu, Hpakant, and Sawlaw townships in Kachin State; and Kyauktaw, Taungup, and Thandwe townships in Rakhine State.
Airstrikes were also conducted in Karenni (Kayah), Bago, Chin, and Tanintharyi regions, the report confirmed.
In total, the junta carried out 82 airstrikes in September —
- 23 times between 6 a.m. and noon,
- 37 times between noon and 6 p.m., and
- 22 times between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m.,
according to MDSI’s analysis.
The junta primarily used fighter jets in these attacks, striking residential areas, villages, monasteries, and schools.
In addition, Y-12 aircraft—which are mainly used for transport and reconnaissance purposes—were deployed in combat operations, the report said.
It was also revealed that paramotors and gyrocopters were used in attacks across flatland areas, particularly in Magway, Sagaing, and Mandalay Regions.
Although most of the airstrikes were conducted with fighter jets, MDSI found that civilians’ homes, internally displaced persons (IDP) camps, and religious and educational buildings were also bombed both day and night using Y-12 planes, paramotors, and gyrocopters.
Airstrikes occurred across nearly all regions and states in Myanmar during September, but Kachin State, Rakhine State, Mandalay Region, and Sagaing Region suffered the highest number of casualties.
The deadliest and most intense attacks occurred after midnight, during hours when most people were asleep, MDSI stated.

October 6
The terrorist military junta carried out an airstrike this morning, October 6, the Full Moon Day of Thadingyut, targeting Namtu City in northern Shan State, which is under the control of the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA), according to a statement released by the PSLF/TNLA Information and Communications Department.
The attack occurred at 7:43 a.m., when junta fighter jets deliberately bombed Ward 2 of Namtu’s central market area, aiming directly at civilians.

This latest attack came only four days after the junta had previously bombed Namtu City on October 2, an airstrike that killed four civilians and injured five others.
According to local sources, on the same morning of October 6, the junta also launched an airstrike on Thibaw City, even though there was no ongoing battle at the time.
Locals condemned the attack as an act of cowardice, describing it as a deliberate assault targeting unarmed civilians.
Due to these repeated airstrikes on civilian areas, revolutionary forces, including the TNLA, have urged the public to remain constantly alert for military air attacks, and to follow air-raid safety measures to minimize casualties and damage.
The PSLF/TNLA Information and Communications Department stated that the terrorist junta is not only waging offensives across the Ta’ang region but is also conducting full-scale assaults on territories seized by ethnic armed organizations and People’s Defence Forces (PDFs).
It is committing war crimes against innocent civilians through indiscriminate artillery shelling, drone strikes, and aerial bombardments using various types of military aircraft, the statement said.

🚩🚩 6. PDF Units Successfully Demoralize Junta Convoy Advancing from Mandalay Gawwein Port Along the Ayeyarwaddy River
October 6
According to an official announcement from Shwebo District Battalion 23 released on October 5, revolutionary forces successfully demoralized and disrupted a military convoy advancing northward along the Ayeyarwaddy River from Mandalay’s Gawwein Port using steel-hull naval vessels.
The statement referred to an incident that began on September 17, when the junta dispatched a military convoy from Gawwein Port traveling upriver along the Ayeyarwaddy.
The convoy reportedly reached Lower Taptha Village around 12 noon on September 18, where it temporarily stationed its troops.
PDF battalions — Shwebo District Battalions 23, 18, 15, 26, and 9706 (“Together We Can”) — coordinated a joint operation to block and encircle the junta forces from Upper Taptha Village.
When the junta attempted to advance northward from Lower Taptha toward Upper Taptha at 12:10 p.m. on September 28, a battle ensued.
During the engagement, PDF forces managed to repel the convoy, inflicting heavy damage and forcing the junta troops to retreat in disarray.
However, when junta forces launched a counteroffensive around 2 p.m., PDF fighters withdrew strategically from Upper Taptha Village due to insufficient ammunition supplies, the statement added.
The report also mentioned that on October 2, a coalition consisting of Battalions 23, 18, 15, 26, and 9706 (“Together We Can”) and local Pa Ka Pha units successfully ambushed a junta column of around 60 troops—affiliated with Infantry Battalion 33, Subunit 8—in Taganin Village, Shwebo Township.
The operation resulted in seven junta soldiers killed, including a warrant officer, and about ten others injured.
PDF forces also captured one warrant officer and three junta soldiers along with their weapons and ammunition.
According to information gathered from captured soldiers and eyewitness accounts from PDF members, the junta convoy that traveled upriver from Mandalay’s Gawwein Port has suffered heavy losses and is now demoralized, the Shwebo District Battalion 23 confirmed.
This report was submitted by Radio NUG correspondent Ko Khant.
