📌📌 1. Acting President says NUG is working relentlessly to ensure that the public’s losses are not wasted and that the revolution succeeds


The Acting President Duwa Lashi La said that the National Unity Government is working relentlessly to ensure that the public’s losses are not wasted and that the revolution succeeds. The Acting President stated in a message sent to the Sagaing Region Third Hluttaw Session held on March 1. 

“The Sagaing region has been the most affected by the terrorist group’s various methods of violence and destruction since it seized power in 2021. Locals living in the Sagaing region had to scarify their lives, blood, sweat, and property, and it suffered the most damage. We, the National Unity Government, are working tirelessly to ensure that the people’s losses are not wasted and that the revolution is successful.”

Currently, the terrorist group has killed over 3,000 people and arrested more than 10,000 others.

📌📌 2. U Aung Kyi Nyunt, Chairman of CRPH, says revolutionary forces are trying to root out the fascist army in 2023


U Aung Kyi Nyunt, chairman of the Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH), said that revolutionary forces are trying to root out the fascist army in 2023. The chairman stated the following at the Sagaing Region’s third regular Hluttaw meeting on March 1:

“Our revolutionary forces have been trying to root out the fascist army in 2023. All parliamentarians, based on the collective power of the people of their constituencies, let us work together with the forces of the spring revolution and continue marching towards victory with one voice.”

In addition, the chairman added that Sagaing is a model region and stands at the forefront of the spring revolution.

📌📌 3. Birth certificate issuance for children of Myanmar citizens residing abroad will be carried out starting from March 1


According to the report, the issuance of birth certificates for children born to Myanmar national parents living abroad for various reasons will begin on March 1. U Lwin Ko Latt, Minister of Home Affairs and Immigration, issued the following statement to the public on March 1:

“After the terrorist army led by Min Aung Hlaing seized power on February 1, 2021, the people were already aware of the state’s deterioration in various sectors, including politics, the economy, health, and education. As NUG, we are doing our best to alleviate the economic downturns, insecurities and disasters faced by the people of Myanmar.”

Therefore, expatriate Myanmar citizens can apply for birth certificates for their children by contacting the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration’s website and the Immigration Department of the MoHAI-NUG Facebook page.

📌📌 4. Dr. Zaw Wai Soe says Myanmar junta has been carrying out arson attacks targeting hospitals, clinics and schools


Union Minister Dr. Zaw Wai Soe said the military council has been carrying out arson attacks targeting hospitals, clinics and schools. The Minister stated the following during a meeting with the Interim Local Public Administration Central Committee and Township Public Administration Groups from the Magway, Mandalay, and Yangon regions:

“Ground activities have been carried out in controlled areas. The Ministry of Health has lost CDM nurses this week, and the military council is targeting and destroying hospitals, clinics, and schools. We always prioritize and respect all those fighting on the ground and are carrying out ground operations as an urgent priority.”

Following a brief explanation of department structure, operations, and policies from the Ministries of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation and Women, Youth, and Children Affairs, members of the township public administration discussed what they wanted to know about the policies and guidelines, operations, and difficulties on the ground. The meeting was led by Union Minister Dr. Zaw Wai Soe and attended by Deputy Ministers, Permanent Secretaries, Joint Secretaries, Departmental Officials and members of township Public Administration from the Magway, Mandalay, and Yangon regions.

📌📌 5. A leading American university invited Ambassador U Kyaw Moe Tun to discuss Myanmar issues


According to the report, U Kyaw Moe Tun, the UN Permanent Representative to Myanmar, was specially invited to discuss Myanmar issues on February 28 by Professor Judy Kuriansky of Teachers College of Columbia University, a leading university in the United States, and Ph.D Graduate students and Master’s Degree students. The discussion was mainly focused on the people of Myanmar whose mental health was affected by the human rights violations due to the military coup.

In addition, it was reported that they discussed issues such as the arrest and torture of women and children, poverty and hunger, rehabilitation, peace, refugee issues and humanitarian assistance, and diplomatic and technical skills. Those who participated were Master’s Degree and Ph.D  Graduate students from the USA, Bangladesh, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, France, India, Israel, Kuwait, Nigeria, and Pakistan.

📌📌 6. U Kyaw Ni, NUG’s Deputy Minister of Labour, discussed labour issues in Thailand


According to Ko Ye Min (ACC), on March 1, the NUG Deputy Minister of Labour U Kyaw Ni discussed labour issues in Thailand.  “These are pictures of the meeting between the NUG Deputy Minister of Labour U Kyaw Ni and organizations that resolve labour issues in Thailand,” it stated.

On January 30, 2023, the NUG Ministry of Labor was able to assist in obtaining wages and work transfer permits for the ten MOU workers sent by the Myanmar agency JMK Company and the Thailand agency Project Managing Engineering Corp., Ltd.

📌📌 7. The Interim Board for Heritage Administration warns not to engage in military operations in 29 areas of Magway region


The Interim Board for Heritage Administration has issued a warning not to engage in military activities in the Magway region’s 29 areas with ancient heritage pagodas and religious buildings. On March 1, the Interim Board for Heritage Administration issued as follows:

“According to policies issued by the Interim Board for Heritage Administration and the decision between the Interim Board and the People’s Administration of Magway, the regions, places, and buildings described in accordance with cultural heritage and natural heritage standards have been designated as interim heritage. According to the restrictions, 29 areas include well-known historical sites such as Mani Yadanar Pagoda, Magway Myathalun, Mosque (Ywarthit), Jarmay Mosque (Magway), Min-Hla Fort, and Gway Chaung Fort.

The Interim Board for Heritage Administration has announced that if the prohibitions are violated, action will be taken under the Law on the Protection and Conservation of Cultural Heritage Areas (2019), the Law on the Protection and Conservation of Ancient Buildings (2015), the Anti-Terrorism Law (2014), and related international laws.

📌📌 8. Discussion of a proposal to provide weapons and ammunition to the revolutionary forces in the Sagaing Region


A proposal to provide weapons and ammunition to PDF battalions, People Defense Forces and LPDF in the Sagaing region was presented and discussed in the Sagaing Region Hluttaw. The 3rd regular Hluttaw meeting of the Sagaing Region was held on March 1. The proposal was also supported and discussed by three regional MPs.

The meeting was led by U Myint Htwe, chairman of the Sagaing Region Hluttaw Representative Committee, and attended by Sagaing Region Hluttaw representatives and invited guests such as CRPH Chairman U Aung Kyi Nyunt, State and Regional Hluttaw Representative Committee officials, National League for Democracy officials, strike forces, and news media.

📌📌 9. Director Ko Pauk’s “RAYS OF HOPE” movie will be shown in Australia on March 11


Director Ko Pauk’s film “RAYS OF HOPE” will be shown in Australia on March 11. On March 1, the “RAYS OF HOPE” Film Screening Committee reported as follows:

“Ladies and Gentlemen of Perth! the movie “RAYS OF HOPE (PG)”, directed by Ko Pauk, will be screened on 11 March 2023 (Saturday) at Canning Town Hall.”

The “RAYS OF HOPE” is a documentary film about director Ko Pauk’s life experiences before and after the coup, such as being a protester, fugitive, and revolutionary. The proceeds from the movie will be donated to the revolution fund.

📌📌 10. The terrorist army carried out an arson attack on Kone village of Yinmarbin township


The terrorist army burned down the entire Kone village in Yinmarbin township, Sagaing region, in two days. On March 1, the North Yama People Defense Force confirmed as follows:

In Yinmarbin township, the enemy military council group burned down the entire Kone village on March 1 and last night.”

As of January 31, 2023, the terrorist army and related groups had burned down approximately 55,484 civilian homes across the country. According to Data for Myanmar, 43,292 houses in Sagaing Region, 8,863 in Magway Region, 1,484 in Chin State, and 1,845 in other states and regions were destroyed due to arson attacks.
