๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 1. NCO Graduation Ceremony Held at Shan South Special Force (P3-9702)

The Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) graduation ceremony for Batch 1/2025 was held by the National Unity Government’s (NUG) People’s Defense Force (PDF), under Military Region 3, Shan South Special Force (P3-9702).

The ceremony took place on February 19 at a location in Karenni State, attended by trainers and troops, the commander of Shan South Special Force (P3-9702), graduating NCO trainees, representatives from allied forces, local residents, and guests.

The training, which ran from January 15 to February 6, covered 13 subjects taught by the Special Operations Unit. Written and practical examinations were conducted on February 8, after which successful trainees were awarded official completion certificates.

Shan South Special Force was established on May 10, 2023, and operates under the command of the NUG’s Central Operations Command (COC). It has actively participated in battles in Hkawngmai, Pekon Township; Lwalput, Hsihseng Township; as well as in clashes in Bawlakhe, Mobye, and Raepu Village in Ywangan Township.

This NCO course marks the first officer training program conducted by Shan South Special Force. Three batches of basic military training have already been completed, and recruitment is ongoing for the fourth batch, allowing interested individuals to apply.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 2. SAC Drops Two Bombs on Mindat Town with a Jet Fighter on Chin National Day

On the morning of February 20, Chin National Day, the military junta (SAC) carried out an airstrike on Mindat, a town currently controlled by the Chin Defense Force-Mindat (CDF Mindat), dropping two bombs using a jet fighter, according to CDF Mindat.

The attack targeted the Sanpya Ward of Mindat, where a 300-pound bomb and a 500-pound bomb were dropped. Fortunately, no civilian casualties were reported, as most residents had not yet returned to the town.

Despite this attack on Chin National Day, the junta's military leader used the occasion of the 77th Chin National Day message to urge the Chin ethnic community to collaborate with the regime.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 3. SAC Airstrike in Sawhti Township Injures a Civilian and Destroys Two Homes

At approximately 12:37 PM on February 19, the military junta (SAC) carried out an aerial bombardment on Chone Inn Village in Sawhti Township, according to an official statement from the Karen National Union (KNU) Central Committee.

The airstrike injured an 18-year-old civilian named Naw Muni Pho and resulted in the deaths of two cows belonging to U Ngay Lay and U Thein Aye, with another cow sustaining injuries. Additionally, two houses were damaged or destroyed.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 4. Aerial Bombing of Ai Saut Village in Paukkaung Township by Three Military Helicopters Results in One Civilian Death and Two Injuries, Including a Child

At approximately 10:30 PM on February 19, the Myanmar military, without any ongoing clashes, conducted an airstrike on Ai Saut Village, Paukkaung Township, using three attack helicopters from Infantry Battalion 75, according to reports from 3601 PPDF.

The attack resulted in the death of Daw San Yi, a 50-year-old resident of the village. Additionally, U Aung Myo Win (also known as Phoe Pyar), aged 38, suffered a severe injury when his left arm was torn off by bomb shrapnel. A 12-year-old girl, Ma Shun Hlae Wai, was also seriously wounded, with bomb shrapnel penetrating her right arm and exiting through her back.

It has been reported that both injured victims require emergency surgery.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 5. Capture of Infantry Battalion 236 and Over 70 SAC Troops Surrender in Clashes with KIA and Resistance Forces

On the morning of February 20, the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and allied revolutionary forces successfully captured the key defense base of Infantry Battalion 236, which was under the control of the 21st Military Operations Command (MOC-21). Following this, they continued their offensive against MOC-21, resulting in heavy casualties among senior officers of the SAC forces, according to KIA military sources.

During the battles, a large cache of weapons was seized, including military-grade drones.

The KIA and allied revolutionary forces have already captured multiple SAC military bases in Bhamo, and the final remaining stronghold of MOC-21 is currently under siege.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 6. Seven Soldiers, Including a Senior Sergeant, Defect from Infantry Battalion 588 with Weapons to Join the Resistance

The Dauna Battalion has announced that seven soldiers, including a senior sergeant, from SAC's Infantry Battalion 588, based in Tanintharyi Township, have defected with their weapons.

On February 19, the group, led by the senior sergeant, defected while on patrol duty and surrendered to the Dauna Battalion.

They brought along a significant amount of military equipment, including:

3 MA-1 rifles

1 MA-2 rifle

1 MA-3 rifle

2 MA-4 rifles

26 magazines

831 rounds of ammunition

14 rounds of 40mm grenades

4 landmines

4 hand grenades

1 bomb fuse

The defectors had previously undergone military training at:

Advanced Military Training School No. 12

Basic Military Training School No. 9 (Thaton)

Basic Military Training School No. 6 (Shwe Myint Tin, Pathein)

According to reports, all seven soldiers had been forcibly recruited by the SAC military and were unwilling conscripts. They have now pledged to fight against the junta.

The Dauna Battalion warmly welcomed the defectors, provided them with initial financial support, and is currently ensuring their safety and well-being.

The battalion has stated that it now has a total of 18 defectors serving as resistance fighters within the People’s Defense Force (PDF).
