๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 1. KNDF Deputy Commander warns of junta infiltration using financial incentives

June 29

Mawii, the Deputy Commander of the Karenni Nationalities Defense Force (KNDF), has issued a warning about enemy infiltration efforts by the military junta, which is leveraging financial resources to carry out counterintelligence operations.

He cautioned KNDF personnel and other revolutionary fighters through his social media platform, noting that junta operatives often disguise themselves as allies. The warning specifically urged vigilance against deceptive tactics that exploit acts of generosity and logistical support.

According to the Deputy Commander, while there are genuine supporters helping the revolution with sincere intent, the junta has been exploiting this by providing financial incentives such as clothing and meals in exchange for intelligence. He described tactics such as individuals offering to donate meals to the frontline and asking how many people are present—then leaking the number and location of troops, sometimes even in exchange for something as trivial as a cow or a pig. Some operatives may even request photos of troops eating meals.

He stressed that the military junta is a well-resourced institution capable of spending large sums of money on espionage, and therefore urged revolutionary fighters not to disclose operational or logistical information.

“If anything I have shared applies to your actions, please stop and be mindful. Don’t become an unwitting informant for the enemy,” he appealed.

Mawii’s cautionary note titled “Don’t Respond, Don’t Be Careless, Don’t Leak Information—Be Alert” is currently being shared widely by various revolutionary forces and allied groups.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 2. Junta navy convoy attacked at three points on Chindwin River; casualties reported

June 29

A fleet of junta navy vessels moving upstream along the Chindwin River near Salingyi Township, Sagaing Region, was attacked at three separate locations, resulting in casualties on the junta side, according to the Taung Pan Ni Special Panther Force.

The revolutionary forces launched the attack on June 28 around 2:00 p.m., targeting three motorized vessels and several flat-bottomed military barges using landmines and small arms.

Due to damage sustained in the attack, the junta responded with covering fire from the boats and continued advancing along the river.

Although the number of junta casualties could not be independently confirmed, reports suggest that some soldiers were killed or injured.

Prior to the ambush, the convoy had moored overnight on June 27 at the Shinphewshin Bridge area—a key crossing on the Chindwin River. The fleet reportedly consisted of 9 flat-bottom barges, 2 large navy vessels, and 1 smaller escort boat.

The joint operation was carried out by allied revolutionary forces including:

  • Chindwin Dynamite People’s Defense Force – Salingyi
  • Taung Pan Ni Special Panther Force – Salingyi
  • 5/Fighter Group Local PDF – Monywa
  • SOLO AUNG GYI – Salingyi
  • Battalion 3 of District 48 Strategic Command, Yinmarbin District
  • SPECIAL GUERILLA FORCE – MONYWA

In light of ongoing operations and the continued need for ammunition, local revolutionary groups have issued a heartfelt appeal for domestic and international support—even a single round of ammunition is helpful, they emphasized.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 3. Fierce clashes erupt between SAC troops and KNU joint forces near Thain Khone village, Tanintharyi Township

June 29

Fierce clashes have broken out near Thain Khone village in Tanintharyi Township, within the administrative territory of the Kawthoolei region governed by the Karen National Union (KNU), according to an announcement from KNU’s Myeik-Dawei District.

The fighting began around 8:00 a.m. on June 28 as SAC troops launched an offensive aimed at retaking control of the Mawtaung route. Revolutionary forces under KNLA Battalion 11 and allied units resisted the advance.

Junta air forces responded by launching airstrikes in the combat area. At approximately 10:00 a.m., two large bombs and no fewer than ten smaller bombs were dropped, but they reportedly only hit junta troop positions, not the resistance forces.

As of the latest reports, heavy fighting continues between junta troops attempting to reclaim the Mawtaung area and the resisting revolutionary forces.
