๐๐ 1. Interim Regional Public Administration Central Committee Meeting Led by Prime Minister Mahn Win Khaing Than

The National Unity Government (NUG) convened the 7th Interim Regional Public Administration Central Committee Meeting of 2025 on February 20 at 10:00 AM.
At the meeting, Prime Minister Mahn Win Khaing Than, who serves as the Chairperson of the Interim Regional Public Administration Central Committee, delivered the opening remarks.
Following that, committee members reviewed the progress of action plans set during the 6th meeting (6/2025) and discussed the remaining tasks to be implemented. Attendees, including relevant ministry officials, presented reports on their respective operations and engaged in extensive discussions on ongoing implementation efforts.
The meeting was led by Prime Minister Mahn Win Khaing Than and attended by Union Ministers, Deputy Union Ministers, Permanent Secretaries, Deputy Permanent Secretaries, and relevant departmental officials. The meeting concluded successfully at 1:00 PM.

๐๐ 2. Mandalay Region Recorded the Highest Number of Human Rights Violations with 113 Cases

According to the Ministry of Human Rights of the National Unity Government (NUG), the terrorist military junta committed a total of 665 human rights violations throughout January 2025.
Among these cases, Mandalay Region recorded the highest number of human rights violations, with 113 reported incidents.
Mandalay also experienced the highest number of airstrikes, with a total of 31 attacks during the month. Additionally, systematic documentation was conducted regarding casualties and destruction resulting from other human rights violations.
The recorded damages from airstrikes in January include:
593 houses
9 schools
9 religious buildings
5 healthcare facilities
The airstrikes killed 204 people and injured 269 others, while mass executions resulted in 165 deaths, according to reports.
The Ministry of Human Rights reaffirmed its commitment to equality, peace, and justice and stated that it would take all possible measures to hold the terrorist military junta accountable for its crimes.

๐๐ 3. Over 200 of the 800 Suspected Fraudsters Repatriated to China

Over 800 Chinese nationals suspected of involvement in online fraud operations in Myawaddy, Karen State, are set to be repatriated to China. According to an announcement from the Chinese Embassy, the first batch of over 200 individuals was deported on February 20.
These 200 individuals were transferred from Myanmar’s Myawaddy region to China via Mae Sot, Thailand, under the supervision of China’s Public Security Bureau.
The remaining suspected online fraudsters, numbering over 800, are expected to be gradually repatriated in subsequent phases.
To combat severe criminal activities in Myawaddy, China, Myanmar, and Thailand are intensifying law enforcement cooperation, continuously strengthening joint anti-crime operations.
The three nations have agreed to enhance legal cooperation, establish mechanisms for cross-border crime investigations, and collaborate in combating online fraud and human trafficking.
Recently, law enforcement from the three countries conducted joint operations in Myawaddy, targeting online fraud networks. Myanmar’s relevant authorities have identified and investigated fraud zones in the region, arrested suspects, and rescued trapped Chinese nationals, according to reports.

๐๐ 4. Political Prisoner Daw San Yi, 65, Serving a 22-Year Sentence at Obo Prison, Passes Away

On February 10, Daw San Yi, a 65-year-old political prisoner serving a 22-year sentence under Sections 52(a) and 50(j), passed away at Obo Prison in Mandalay Region due to hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, and liver disease, according to a statement by the Political Prisoners Network Myanmar (PPNM).
Daw San Yi was arrested on April 22, 2021, while at her home in Chanmyathazi Township. She was accused of sheltering three young individuals allegedly involved in a bomb attack on Police Station No. 10 in Chanmyathazi Township. Following her arrest by township police forces, she was prosecuted under Sections 52(a) and 50(j) and sentenced to 22 years in prison on February 5, 2022, at Obo Prison.
PPNM expressed deep sorrow over her death due to inadequate healthcare in prison. The organization has called for full and proper medical care for political prisoners and the unconditional and immediate release of all political detainees to prevent further loss of lives.

๐๐ 5. Daw Aung San Suu Kyi Commemorative Calendars Sold Out, All 8,000 Copies Successfully Purchased

Reports confirm that all 8,000 copies of the Daw Aung San Suu Kyi commemorative calendar have been successfully sold out.
The sale of the commemorative calendar honoring "Mother Suu" began on February 13.
Ordered calendars will be delivered to the respective fundraisers by the end of April, and the fundraisers will then distribute them to buyers, ensuring delivery by May.
