๐๐ 1. Meeting Between Union Minister for Defence U Yee Mon and Central Committee Member Ko Moe Nay from the People’s Liberation Army Results in Agreement on Military and Administrative Collaboration

On December 23, 2024, Union Minister for Defence U Yee Mon of the National Unity Government (NUG) and Central Committee Member Ko Moe Nay from the People’s Liberation Army held an open and candid discussion on the ground. The People's Liberation Army/Organization announced this on January 28.
During the meeting, the People’s Liberation Army (PIA) and the People's Liberation Organization (PIO) openly discussed their revolutionary operations and positions. They reached an agreement to cooperate with the NUG on military and administrative initiatives.
The meeting also covered discussions on plans for building a future federal army and emphasized the need to uphold military discipline and ethics throughout the revolutionary period.

๐๐ 2. Meeting Held on Administrative Matters within the Draft Interim Constitution for Sagaing Federal Unit

A meeting was convened to discuss administrative matters as outlined in the draft interim constitution for the Sagaing Federal Unit.
Participants included representatives from the Sagaing Federal Unit Parliament, district, and township administrative bodies within the unit. The meeting took place via video conference at 10:00 AM on January 28, 2025.
Sagaing Federal Unit Parliament Speaker U Myint Htwe delivered the opening speech. Representatives then presented completed reviews and analyses of the draft interim constitution, outlined future processes, and shared administrative expectations for the Sagaing Federal Unit.
Following these presentations, district and township administrative officials within the unit offered their analyses and recommendations regarding the draft interim constitution. Representatives from the parliament provided clarifications in response.

๐๐ 3. Aung San Multidisciplinary University to Be Established in Liberated Areas

Deputy Minister U Maw Htun Aung of the Ministry of Electricity and Energy announced on social media that the Aung San Multidisciplinary University would soon be established in liberated areas.
“The Aung San Multidisciplinary University will soon emerge in liberated areas. We hope to honor the ethnic leaders who fought for freedom by offering scholarships, peace and federalism studies, and visiting fellowships, fostering greater development,” he stated.
Currently, various colleges and universities are being established as on-ground educational institutions in ethnic regions based on local needs.

๐๐ 4. Prominent Burmese Literary Scholar U Maung Khin Min (Danu Phyu) Passes Away

Renowned Burmese literary scholar U Maung Khin Min (Danu Phyu) passed away at Yangon General Hospital on January 28, 2025, at 12:30 a.m., according to reports.
The funeral service is scheduled for January 30 at 3:00 p.m. at Yayway Cemetery in Yangon.
Born on January 2, 1942, in Danu Phyu, U Maung Khin Min’s real name was U Khin Aye. He was 83 years old at the time of his passing.
His book on rhetoric and the art of eloquence has become a seminal reference for Burmese language studies.
Over the course of his academic career, U Maung Khin Min held positions as an assistant lecturer, lecturer, associate professor, and professor at Yangon University of Science and Technology, Dagon University, Pyay Degree College, and Yangon University. He also served as a visiting professor of Burmese at Osaka University of Foreign Studies in Japan.
He was a recipient of multiple prestigious awards, including the National Literary Award and the Sarpay Beikman Literary Award, and was recognized as an honorary literary scholar.

๐๐ 5. PSLF/TNLA Judicial Enforcement Unit Arrests Over 1,000 Offenders Within a Year

The Paloung State Liberation Front/Ta'ang National Liberation Army (PSLF/TNLA) announced that its Judicial Enforcement Unit successfully apprehended 1,242 offenders in 2024 across five administrative districts under its control: Namhsan, Shwe Li, Man Aung, Thanlwin, and Lashio.
The arrest breakdown included 831 cases in Namhsan, 226 cases in Shwe Li, 118 cases in Man Aung, 53 cases in Thanlwin, and 14 cases in Lashio.
Out of these, 33 cases were adjudicated by judicial authorities, while 818 cases were resolved by the Judicial Enforcement Unit. A total of 256 cases are still pending in court.
The cases involved crimes such as murder, sexual assault, theft, severe bodily harm, and other offenses. Additionally, 1,923 individuals involved in drug trafficking and usage were arrested.
Of these, 51 cases were resolved by judicial authorities, and 1,170 cases were addressed by the Judicial Enforcement Unit.

๐๐ 6. Public Anti-Dictatorship March to Mark the Fourth Anniversary of the Spring Revolution

The Dawei District Democracy Movement Strike Committee (DDMSC) announced that a public anti-dictatorship march would be held on February 1 to commemorate the fourth anniversary of the Spring Revolution.
Under the theme “Build People's Power, Resist and Revolt Against Dictatorship,” the march will take place in two townships within Dawei District.
The DDMSC called on local residents to participate by bringing flags and raising their voices in solidarity.
