๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 1. Capture of Military Camps and Seizure of Weapons and Prisoners in Phapon

In the Karen State, KNU's 5th Brigade, in the Phapon District, on December 3, captured the Sin Swei camp, and on December 4, the Tawthone Lone camp. Over 40 weapons were seized, along with 36 enemy soldiers. These military camps were considered strategically significant, controlling important routes.

The captured camps include the Kawsein, Kapote, and Mahtaw camps, located within Phapon Township.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 2. Shooting Incident in Kin U City - One Defense Officer Killed, Five Others Injured

In the city of Kin U, Sagaing Region, a shooting incident occurred between the military junta forces and the Defense Forces. One defense officer was killed, and five others were seriously injured after being hit by heavy artillery. This took place near the People's Hospital around 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM on December 4, when a military vehicle from the junta was ambushed by a combined UG + PDF unit.

During the battle, a 60 mm mortar shell from the junta forces exploded near the defenders, killing one officer and injuring five others.

The funeral for the fallen officer, Ko Nwe Oo, took place on the evening of December 4.

The junta also suffered casualties in the battle, and investigations into their losses are ongoing.

On the morning of December 5, fighting broke out in Naopin village, Yatharshay Township, when over 100 armed military soldiers launched an attack from the island mountain. The battle lasted for over five hours, resulting in the death of at least 20 soldiers. Many others were injured.

During the battle, junta forces fired heavy artillery, injuring five defense officers.

The junta troops later entered Naopin village, reinforcing their forces and conducting searches on local villagers. Local civilians were advised to remain cautious and stay alert as more military actions may follow.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 4. Mine Attack on Military Vehicle in Myingyan, Killing Two Soldiers

In Myingyan, Mandalay Region, a vehicle carrying five junta soldiers was hit by a mine planted by the Myingyan Black Tiger (MBT) forces. The attack occurred around 2:30 PM on December 5, killing two soldiers.

After the attack, the junta retaliated by firing into the area, and nearby civilians were subjected to searches.

This attack was in response to the junta's aerial bombardment on December 4 that killed innocent civilians.

In Pakokku Township, Magway Region, rockets were launched at a junta base at the Pakokku Airport. The attack on November 18 involved 30 rockets, followed by another attack on November 23 with 7 rockets. These strikes hit near the junta base, causing explosions, and the junta retaliated with small arms and heavy artillery fire.

Casualties on the junta's side were reported, but the resistance forces, including the local Defense Forces, were unharmed and managed to retreat.

In Maungdaw, Rakhine State, an armed Islamic extremist group, ARSA, targeted and killed a civilian, U Kyaw Tha Aung, a 62-year-old man, on December 4 around 5 PM. He was shot near a Buddhist monastery in Aung Zeya village.

Over the past year, at least 22 local civilians have been killed, and 6 others wounded by such militant groups, according to the Humanitarian Development and Cooperation Office (HDCO).

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 7. Large-Scale Artillery Hits a Residential House in Myitkyina, Causing Injury to One Civilian

On December 4, two heavy artillery shells hit a residential house in Myitkyina, damaging the house and a nearby Buddhist temple. A 53-year-old woman sustained injuries from shrapnel to her abdomen. The impact of the artillery also damaged doors, windows, and walls of the house.

The court of the People's Defense Forces (PDF) has sentenced four defense officers to one year in prison for violations of International Humanitarian Law (IHL) and International Human Rights (IHR). These officers were involved in the execution of leader Pyu Saw Thih Min Min, along with others.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 9. Civilians in Thilin City Urged to Flee to NUG-Controlled Areas Amid Rising Military Conflict

The NUG authorities are urging civilians residing in Thilin City to leave and seek refuge in areas controlled by the National Unity Government (NUG). Military operations in the area are expected to intensify, and citizens are advised to leave before the deadline of December 31, 2024.

The authorities also warned that anyone failing to evacuate within the given time frame would be held responsible for any subsequent risks.
