February 18

The Ministry of Defense has repeatedly issued an Airstrike Hazard Awareness Announcement to inform the public of the necessary precautions to minimize harm during aerial attacks.

To ensure safety and reduce casualties during airstrikes, the NUG Ministry of Defense has shared guidelines on its social media platforms regarding protective measures.

In the event of a chemical weapon attack inside a building:

  1. Stay calm.
  2. Do not approach the affected area without protective gear. Do not touch objects with bare hands or provide aid to victims without proper precautions.
  3. Move away from the source of the chemical gas, liquid, or particles.
  4. Seek an open, well-ventilated area, preferably at a higher elevation.
  5. Remove contaminated clothing and securely place it in a plastic bag.
  6. Wash exposed areas thoroughly with soap and water using the Rinse – Wipe – Rinse method.
  7. Change into fresh clothing.
  8. Monitor yourself and others for symptoms of poisoning.
  9. Even if symptoms do not appear immediately, seek medical attention if you have been exposed.

As the SAC continues to carry out airstrikes against civilians, the National Unity Government’s (NUG) Ministry of Defense has issued this advisory to ensure that civilians are aware of necessary survival measures during such attacks.
