๐ฉ๐ฉ 1. Intense Clashes in Banmaw Township as Over 20 Junta Soldiers Surrender

Fierce fighting continues in Banmaw Township, Kachin State, as joint forces led by the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) advance to capture the area. Reports from military sources confirm that over 20 junta soldiers have surrendered.
On February 1, more than 20 junta soldiers reportedly surrendered in Nam Hpar Ward of Banmaw, according to Kachin military sources shared on social media.
Additionally, it was announced that a full-scale assault on the No. 21 Operation Command Headquarters began at approximately 5:30 AM on February 1.
Due to the siege imposed by KIA and its allied forces on SAC (State Administration Council) Unit 21, the junta forces are primarily relying on airstrikes for defense, according to reports.
KIA launched its operations to capture Banmaw and Mansi on December 4. After over a month of fighting, KIA fully secured the remaining three SAC battalion headquarters in Mansi on January 8.
Following this, the assault on Banmaw intensified on January 24, leading to the capture of strategic locations such as the fortified battalion near SAC-21, the airfield, and the Supply and Transport Office. On February 2, the offensive escalated further, targeting remaining military outposts in the area.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 2. Seven Junta Soldiers Killed During Offensive on Thayetchaung Township

In Tanintharyi Region's Thayetchaung Township, seven junta soldiers were killed when they faced resistance during an offensive operation, according to a statement from the Dawei District Joint Forces.
The attack occurred on January 14, when Dawei District Joint Forces, in collaboration with the Dawei District Drone Unit, launched at least three ambushes.
While it was confirmed that seven junta soldiers were killed, information on other casualties or injuries has not yet been verified.

At approximately 11:15 AM on February 2, the junta launched another aerial bombing on Tin Thar Village, Kale Township, according to local sources.
Bombs reportedly hit the Ratana Man Aung Monastery and the residence of U Bo Bo in Tin Thar Village, resulting in the death of one civilian and injuries to another.
Similarly, at about 11:18 AM on the same day, junta forces carried out another airstrike on Doe Nwe Village. Details regarding the extent of damage or casualties in this attack remain unconfirmed.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 4. Junta's Violent Acts in KNU Territory Leave Five Injured, Including Three Children, and One Dead

Due to artillery shelling and aerial bombings by the junta within the territory controlled by the Karen National Union (KNU) in Kawkareik District, five individuals, including three children, were injured, and one woman was killed, according to a KNU statement.
On February 1, around 2:00 PM, SAC-12, a subordinate unit of the junta, launched artillery strikes on Phar Kyar Village in Laung Kaing Village Tract, Kyainseikgyi Township. As a result, a 12-year-old student was injured, and a 20-year-old woman was fatally struck by shrapnel piercing her heart.
Additionally, on January 31, three junta fighter jets dropped bombs twice and fired automatic weapons in Saw Htee Township. The attack injured two children aged 2 and 16 and a 73-year-old woman.
Furthermore, at approximately 12:30 PM, the junta's Infantry Battalion-264, stationed in Pain Zaw Loke, fired an artillery shell that exploded in Aw Phala Village, injuring a 37-year-old woman.
On the same day, January 31, the junta reportedly dropped two 300-pound bombs in the forests near Kyauk O and Kyauk Hlwe Bhi in Muu Township.

๐ฉ๐ฉ 5. Four Years After the Coup: 176 Karenni IDPs Killed, 542 Civilians Massacred

Between February 1, 2021, and January 31, 2025, following the military coup, 176 internally displaced persons (IDPs) lost their lives, and 542 civilians were massacred in Karenni State, according to the PKPF Information Centre.
During this period, 1,282 battles occurred. The KNDF, KA, and PDF resistance forces reportedly suffered 686 casualties.
The junta carried out 1,788 airstrikes, destroying 54 religious structures, 2,897 houses, 26 schools, and 16 hospitals or clinics.
It was also reported that three junta aircraft and 68 military vehicles were destroyed, with 3,665 junta soldiers killed.
Additionally, 147 civilians were unlawfully detained by the junta during this period.
