πŸ“ŒπŸ“Œ 1. Prime Minister Man Win Khaing Than: The junta is attempting by all means to hold elections in NUG-administered areas, while brutally attacking civilians with airstrikes, heavy weapons, and small arms.

August 21 – Radio NUG

The National Unity Government’s Interim Local Administration Central Committee held its meeting (29/2025) on the morning of August 21, 2025. During the meeting, the Chairman of the Interim Local Administration Central Committee and Prime Minister Man Win Khaing Than delivered opening remarks.

In his address, the Prime Minister stated:

“On August 18, the terrorist military junta announced its election date. In the lead-up to that election, they are likely to intensify their oppression of the people by every means at their disposal. They will attempt, by all possible methods, to force their elections even in areas administered by the National Unity Government. Meanwhile, civilians are being relentlessly targeted: continuous airstrikes, bombings, and attacks using heavy and small arms are killing innocent people daily.

Politically, it is natural that as the revolution gains momentum, challenges and confrontations will increase. These must be managed carefully and collectively by all sides. The Interim Local Administration Central Committee, in addition to its routine responsibilities, must pay special attention to security issues.

To achieve victory in the revolution, we must persist with dedication and determination in the political, military, and administrative spheres. We must press on with vigor and strength, facing and overcoming all political challenges that may arise with unity and resilience.”

During the meeting, members of the Central Committee also reviewed the decisions made during meeting (28/2025), discussed progress on ongoing tasks, clarified matters relating to remaining processes, and engaged in detailed discussions on future work.

The meeting was attended by the Prime Minister, Union Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Permanent Secretaries, Deputy Permanent Secretaries, and departmental officials. It concluded successfully at 12:00 noon.

πŸ“ŒπŸ“Œ 3. Dr. Tay Zar San: The junta’s so-called “election” is nothing but a sham, illegal, a political trap, and a staged event.

August 21 – Radio NUG

Dr. Tay Zar San stated that the election being engineered by the terrorist military junta is in fact “a sham election, an illegal election, a political trap, and a staged performance.”

He emphasized that the junta’s so-called election is not at all a solution to Myanmar’s current political crisis. Rather than resolving the crisis, it will further complicate and worsen it. The process is nothing more than a political maneuver designed to prolong military rule, grant impunity for the junta’s countless crimes, and ease the severe military and political pressures currently confronting the armed forces.

He reiterated that the people, through their will and voice, and the CRPH, have already abolished the junta’s plan. The attempt to hold elections within the framework of the illegitimate 2008 Constitution—crafted to entrench military domination—is categorically rejected.

Instead, the path forward lies in the collective political roadmap of the Federal Democracy Charter, including its twelve guiding points, and the shared principles and common goals firmly upheld by the National Unity Government (NUG) and all revolutionary forces.

Furthermore, he stressed that the ongoing Spring Revolution—embraced by people of all ethnicities and regions—is not only marked by immense sacrifice and hardship but also represents the decisive battle and final opportunity to resolve once and for all the political crisis that has persisted in Myanmar for nearly 80 years.

Accordingly, Dr. Tay Zar San reaffirmed that the junta’s “illegal, sham election”—its staged “event”—will be met with total rejection and will be completely destroyed by the collective strength of the people.
