๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 1. Over 20 junta soldiers killed and 8 supply trucks destroyed in clashes as junta column advanced from Dawei to Meta Town

According to the Karen National Union (KNU), a battle broke out when a junta column advancing from Dawei toward Meta Town in Tanintharyi Region was ambushed by resistance forces.

On August 18 and 19, the junta column was attacked at two separate locations by KNLA Brigade 4, Battalions 12 and 10, together with allied revolutionary forces.

During the two days of fighting, at least 20 junta soldiers were killed, and eight supply trucks were destroyed. Weapons, ammunition, and rations from two of the trucks were seized by the resistance forces.

Throughout the battle, the junta deployed three fighter aircraft to carry out about seven aerial bombing raids, according to the statement.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 2. Attack on Tabaitkyin junta training school kills 3 officers and 18 soldiers

The Bamar People’s Liberation Army (BWM) reported that during an attack on the junta’s No. 13 Tatmadaw Advanced Training School in Tabaitkyin Township, at 7-Mile Village, three officer-trainers and 18 soldiers were killed.

On August 20, forces from BWM, Shadow (Central Region), No More Dictatorship (NMD-PDF), and Infinity (Central Region) jointly fired ten short-range rockets at the No. 13 training school.

As a result, three senior officer-trainers and 18 other rank-and-file soldiers were killed, while four dormitories caught fire, destroying training equipment and materials.

The number of those injured could not yet be confirmed, the report stated.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 3. Junta troops and Pyu militias torch houses and market in villages of Pale Township

The Beyond the Chindwin Organization (BCO) reported that since August 16, a junta infantry column of about 200 troops, accompanied by Pyu militia, has been conducting operations in Pale Township, Sagaing Region.

After passing through Nyaungpinzauk and Kwan Kaing villages, the column encamped overnight at Ngapyautaw Village, where they set fire to about five civilian houses.

Later, on the evening of August 20, the same column entered Mintinebin Village and deliberately set fire to civilian homes, including the local market. Although many of these houses had already been damaged earlier by junta airstrikes, this time they were burned to the ground. It is estimated that about 60% of Mintinebin Village has now been completely destroyed by fire.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 4. Junta troops from Koetoneboe base abduct and execute civilian in Kanbalu Township

According to the Kyunhla-Kanbalu Activists Group, a junta column that marched out from the Koetoneboe base in Kanbalu Township, Sagaing Region, arrested and executed a local villager from Kyat Khaik Village.

On the morning of August 20, at around 6:00 a.m., approximately 70 junta troops entered Kyat Khaik Village, firing weapons as they advanced, and began arresting residents who were trapped inside.

It was reported that the soldiers captured and summarily executed U Maung Maw, a 45-year-old villager, by the roadside.

A local witness said:

“That morning, the column entered the village around 6 a.m. There was no news at all, so almost the entire village was trapped and couldn’t escape. Many people were stuck inside. Ko Maung Maw had gone out to the forest early, but he crossed paths with the column and was unlucky. He was shot point-blank twice in the forehead by the roadside.”

The column stayed overnight in Kyat Khaik Village, and in the early hours of the next day (around 2 a.m.), they released the villagers they had detained. Before returning to the Koetoneboe base, the troops looted property from the village, according to reports.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 5. Civilian killed by junta gunfire in Hakha Town

According to local reports, on August 20 in Hakha Town, Chin State, junta troops shot a man who attempted to flee a military checkpoint on a motorbike. He was struck in the abdomen and legs.

The victim, identified as Salai Sang Khia, a resident of Tisen Village, Lautu area, Thantlang Township, was taken to Hakha General Hospital. Despite receiving treatment, he succumbed to his injuries around 9:00 p.m. that evening.

Two young girls were also injured during the incident, but their injuries were reported as not life-threatening.

Witnesses further reported that junta soldiers beat Salai Sang Khia even after he collapsed from his gunshot wounds.
