๐๐ 1. Meeting Between Organizations Assisting Myanmar Migrant Workers in Thailand and Officials from the National Unity Government’s Ministry of Labor

A meeting was held between officials from the National Unity Government’s Ministry of Labor, led by Director U Naing Htun Oo, and organizations working on issues related to Myanmar migrant workers in Thailand.
During the meeting, Ministry of Labor officials discussed with these organizations the current challenges faced by Myanmar migrant workers in different regions and explored possible solutions.
It was also noted that reports of labor rights violations can be submitted via email and social media applications.

๐๐ 2. Myanmar Spring University to Begin Collecting Admission Fees from Students

According to the decision made in the Myanmar Spring University Council’s meeting on March 17, 2025, the university has announced that it will begin collecting admission fees from students starting March 18, 2025.
This applies to students currently enrolling in the Sixth Batch (First Time) as well as those already attending the university, including students from First Batch, Second Batch, Third Batch, Uni Entrance (1st), and Uni Entrance (2nd).
Students transitioning to the next semester, whether by completing a semester or passing a course, will be required to pay an admission fee of 10,000 MMK.
For newly enrolled Sixth Batch students, fees will be as follows:
Regular full-time students: 10,000 MMK per semester
Distance learning students: 20,000 MMK for two semesters
The university will soon announce the payment link for these fees.
Additionally, students who need official documents such as Student Certificates, transcripts, or degree certificates must pay 10,000 MMK per request. These payments can only be made via NUG Pay and SDB.
The university has also clarified that other education-related fees, including tuition fees, remain free of charge.

๐๐ 3. Proceeds from the Sale of Professor Sean Turnell’s Best Laid Plans and Its Burmese Translation Shwe Yaung Si Man Kyaing Myar to Be Donated to the Suu 80th Birthday Campaign

It has been announced that the proceeds from the sales of Professor Sean Turnell’s original book, Best Laid Plans, and its Burmese translation, Shwe Yaung Si Man Kyaing Myar (Golden Economic Plans), will be donated to the Suu 80th Birthday Campaign.
At an event held at St. James Church in Queens, New York, Professor Sean Turnell personally signed copies of his books for attendees. The event was attended by Kim, the son of Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, along with Professor Sean Turnell and members of the Myanmar community in New York.
A total of 330 books were sold at the event, including 80 copies of the original English version and 250 copies of the Burmese translation.
After deducting production costs, a total of USD 2,550 was donated to the Suu 80th Birthday Campaign, facilitated by the H2B group and Kim.

๐๐ 4. 72 People Killed Nationwide in Military Junta’s Mass Executions and Burnings

According to data collected by the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP), from January 1, 2024, to March 18, 2025, a total of 72 people were confirmed to have been killed by Myanmar’s military junta in brutal executions and burnings.
This includes:
42 people who were burned alive
30 people who were executed and their bodies burned afterward
Among the recorded deaths, Sagaing Region had the highest number of casualties, with 24 victims, followed by Magway Region with 20 victims.
Between March 7 and March 12, 2025, the military raided and occupied Thargon Village in Yesagyo Township, Magway Region, where they captured, tortured, and brutally executed eight civilians. One of the victims, U Chit Maung, was beheaded, and his body was burned.
