๐ฉ๐ฉ 1. Bomb Attack on Election Office in South Dagon
August 3
On August 2 at 10:15 p.m., the People's Defense Forces from Yangon’s Western District launched a targeted attack using three high-powered hand grenades against the election commission office in South Dagon Township, Yangon, according to a statement released today.
The targeted office was being used by the junta’s subordinate election commission (UEC) to organize operations related to the regime’s planned election. The attack was carried out specifically because junta forces were actively engaged in election-related activities at that location, according to the Yangon Army and the Western District People's Defense Force (PaKaPha).
The attackers successfully struck their intended target and safely retreated without sustaining harm. It is believed that junta personnel may have suffered casualties or damage as a result of the assault.
Both the Yangon urban guerrilla units and the Western District PaKaPha declared that they will continue to launch decisive attacks against all targets linked to the junta’s forces and any operations associated with the military’s illegitimate election.
