๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 1. Attack on Military Checkpoint Along Yangon-Pyay Road Leaves 8 Junta Forces Dead, 12 Injured in Consecutive Strikes

On March 20 at 1:30 AM, resistance forces launched a surprise attack on a military checkpoint near Oht Twin Village, situated along the Yangon-Pyay highway in Sitt Kwin Town, Minhla Township, Bago Region. The checkpoint, set up to detain and extort civilians, was targeted by members of Battalion 3802, Sub-Battalion 2, from the Tharyarwaddy District.

The battle lasted 1 hour and 45 minutes. During the exchange of fire, one resistance fighter sustained a minor injury. On the junta’s side, seven soldiers were killed, and six were wounded. Due to the severity of their injuries, their bodies were hastily collected, and the remaining troops retreated in disarray.

The resistance fighters seized one carbine rifle, a magazine, 20 rounds of ammunition, other military supplies, and a motorcycle. While they attempted to set fire to the checkpoint, only minor damage was reported.

The following morning, on March 21 at around 10:00 AM, resistance forces launched a follow-up attack on junta troops who had resumed security operations at the checkpoint bunker. A remote-detonated bomb was used in this strike, killing one soldier instantly and injuring four others.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 2. Sniper Eliminates Pyu Saw Htee Militia Guard at Kan Ni Pyu Village

On March 19, allied resistance forces conducted a coordinated operation targeting a Pyu Saw Htee militia guard stationed in a watchtower at Kan Ni Pyu Village. A sniper successfully eliminated the target, who fell from the tower and died, according to a report from MPL Northern Zone (Myingyan-Pa Ka Pha).

The attack was carried out by a coalition of resistance groups, including MPL Northern Zone (Myingyan-Pa Ka Pha), Man Kyee Yate Ko Ye Pa Ka Pha, Ko Ga Tone Tactical-4 Pa Ka Pha, Thapyay Taw Pa Ka Pha, and Ko Lio Eagle Brigade.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 3. Two Displaced Civilians Killed by Junta Artillery While Retrieving Food Supplies in Chaung Lamhu Village, Tanintharyi

On the afternoon of March 21, displaced civilians in Chaung Lamhu Village, Tanintharyi Township, were retrieving food supplies when junta forces, stationed at a temporary military outpost in Thein Khun Village, launched a 120mm artillery attack. The assault was guided by drone surveillance, according to local reports.

As a result, two civilians—Ma Mie Mie and Ko Thaung Pu—were killed, while two others sustained severe injuries.

Earlier, on the morning of March 12, resistance forces ambushed a forward reconnaissance unit from a junta convoy traveling from Tanintharyi Town to Thein Khun Village. The attack, carried out near Kam Maline Village, involved a landmine explosion followed by a half-hour firefight. The clash resulted in the deaths of a junta lieutenant colonel and a warrant officer, with numerous other casualties reported on the junta's side, according to a statement from Tanintharyi Pa Ka Pha.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 4. Military Airstrike on Displacement Camp in Western Demoso Injures a Child

At approximately 10:30 AM on March 21, a junta jet fighter dropped four rockets on a displacement camp in western Demoso, Karenni State. The attack was followed by intense gunfire, causing injuries to a child, as reported by KPV News.

A 13-year-old child, who was using a mobile phone at a Starlink internet station, was hit in the back. Most of the bombs landed in the forest and along the main road.

Following the airstrike, junta forces continued shelling the western part of Demoso using heavy artillery.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 5. Artillery Strike in Kyaikto Kills a Buddhist Monk

At approximately 9:00 AM on March 21, artillery fire launched by junta forces stationed in Lat Pan Village, Waw Township, Bago Region, struck a monastery in Khway Village, Kyaikto Township, Mon State. The explosion killed a 50-year-old monk who was preparing alms and injured two other monks, aged around 40, according to Pa Ka Pha of Waw Township.

The monastery's dining hall was also damaged. The two wounded monks were transported to Theinzayat District Hospital with the assistance of local residents.

This artillery attack followed a drone strike by the Taung Nyo military column on March 18 in the evening, which targeted the house of Pyu Saw Htee leader Aung Gyi in Lat Pan Village.

At approximately 4:15 PM on March 20, junta aircraft dropped three bombs on a monastery in Kin Mun Chaung Village, Salingyi Township. The attack resulted in the death of a monastery caretaker (Kappiya) and injuries to two civilians, according to Pa Ah Pha of Salingyi Township.

The explosion caused significant damage to the pagoda, stupa, and monastery. Following the airstrike, villagers fled the area in search of safety.

๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ 7. Junta Forces Take Over 50 Civilians as Human Shields in Yesagyo Township

At around 6:30 AM on March 21, junta forces advanced from Ngataraw Village toward Moe Phyu and Moe Kwe Villages, forcing residents of nearby villages to flee. As they attempted to escape, junta troops fired at them and carried out arrests, according to an announcement by the Info Committee of Yesagyo.

By approximately 7:00 AM, junta forces had captured over 50 civilians—including elderly individuals and children—who were hiding on a riverbank west of Moe Kwe Village. The captured civilians were then taken into the village, reportedly being used as human shields.

On March 21, Battalion 19 of Pakokku District distributed weekly military reports to accessible villages and remote areas of Saikphyu Township.

The reports aimed to inform civilians not only about military updates but also about the People’s Defense Force’s (PDF) operational standards and the National Unity Government’s (NUG) military objectives.

Additionally, within its temporarily controlled areas, Battalion 19 provided free healthcare services to local villagers.
