The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has failed to fulfill its core responsibility concerning Myanmar, stated Myanmar’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Kyaw Moe Tun, during a high-level meeting of the UN Security Council on "Enhancing the Effectiveness of UN Peace Operations and Responding to Contemporary Challenges."

"I have repeatedly raised concerns about the alarming situation in Myanmar at the Security Council and relevant UN meetings. The current state of Myanmar has profound implications for regional peace and security.
